Billionaire: Money and Power

Chapter 28: Chapter 28 – "Breaking the Circle"

The Plan Begins

Joshua sat in his penthouse, the black card still on the table. The symbol of the Order stared back at him—a snake eating its own tail. Endless. Unbreakable.

That was their message.

But every system had a flaw.

He just needed to find it.

Tunde paced the room. "Bro, I don't like this. These people… they're different. Even Chief Okon didn't want to say too much. That should tell you something."

Joshua exhaled. "Then we make them talk."

Adisa leaned forward. "How?"

Joshua's lips curled into a smirk. "We don't chase them. We make them come to us."

Setting the Trap

The Order was built on control—of information, of money, of people. But even the most powerful needed leverage.

Joshua's first target? Their money flow.

Tunde and Adisa got to work, digging into the financial networks connected to the Order's symbol. It took time, but eventually, they found something—a shell company that kept appearing in major transactions.

A shipping company.

On paper, it was just another logistics firm. But under the surface, it was moving something important.

And tonight, Joshua planned to take it.

The Heist

The docks were quiet, the air thick with the salty smell of the ocean. A single cargo ship sat in the harbor, loading crates under dim yellow lights.

Joshua adjusted the earpiece. "You in position?"

Tunde's voice crackled through. "Yeah, bro. Four guards at the main entrance, two patrolling the dock. Security is tight, but nothing crazy."

Adisa added, "They have a shipment scheduled for midnight. That's our window."

Joshua smirked. "Then let's move."

The team moved like shadows, slipping past security cameras and silent guards. Tunde took out the first patrol with a quick chokehold. Adisa handled the second.

In minutes, they reached the main storage area.

Joshua opened a crate. His eyes narrowed.

Stacks of black files, marked with the Order's ouroboros symbol.

Adisa whistled. "Bingo."

Tunde cracked a grin. "So what's inside?"

Joshua flipped through a file. Then his smirk faded.

It wasn't money.

It was names.

Politicians. Business moguls. Military officials.

And next to each name—detailed reports, secrets, weaknesses.

Blackmail material.

Joshua exhaled. "This is how they control everything."

Adisa frowned. "So what do we do?"

Joshua shut the file. "We take it with us."

Tunde grinned. "Now we're talking."

But just as they turned to leave—

A single gunshot rang out.

Adisa ducked. "Shit! We've got company!"

Men in dark suits poured into the storage area, armed and moving fast.

Joshua grabbed a crate. "Plan B!"

Tunde threw a smoke grenade, filling the room with thick fog.

Gunfire erupted, bullets tearing through the crates as the team ran.

Joshua sprinted through the maze of containers, adrenaline pumping. He could hear footsteps behind him—closing in fast.

Tunde shouted, "Exit's to the left!"

Adisa fired a quick shot, taking down a guard.

Joshua didn't stop. He hit the door at full speed, crashing through it into the open docks.

A black SUV screeched to a stop in front of them.

The driver's window rolled down.

Zara.

She smiled. "You're really making a mess, Joshua."

Joshua exhaled. "And?"

She leaned against the door. "And now… we talk."

Face to Face

The warehouse was dimly lit, a single bulb flickering overhead. Zara sat across from Joshua, her expression unreadable.

"You really don't know when to stop, do you?" she said.

Joshua smirked. "Stopping's never been my thing."

Zara leaned forward. "Then maybe I should explain something. The Order doesn't lose. They don't negotiate. They don't forgive."

Joshua shrugged. "Then why am I still alive?"

Zara exhaled. "Because you're valuable. And because I vouched for you."

Joshua's eyes narrowed. "Why?"

She studied him. "Because I've seen men like you before. You don't just want money. Or power. You want control."

Joshua stayed silent.

Zara continued, "The Order doesn't fear chaos, Joshua. They use it. Every war, every political shift—it all plays into their hands. And right now, you're just another piece on the board."

Joshua smirked. "Then let's change the game."

Zara laughed softly. "You don't change the game. You play it."

Joshua leaned forward. "Then tell your bosses I'm ready to play."

Zara's expression shifted. "You're sure?"

Joshua's smirk didn't waver. "I don't bluff."

She exhaled. Then she slid a small envelope across the table.

"Welcome to the real game, Joshua."

Joshua picked it up.

Inside was a single card.

An invitation.

A meeting with the Order's inner circle.

Joshua chuckled.

"Let's see who's really in charge."
