big brother shina: reborn in the Uchiha clan

Chapter 12: Chapter 12: A Challenge for Two

The morning sun bathed the Uchiha compound in golden light as Shina strolled toward the training grounds, hands tucked casually behind his head. Itachi trailed close behind him, his tiny frame dwarfed by the larger training gear slung over his shoulder.

"You know, Shina-nii," Itachi began, his voice thoughtful, "Father's been watching us more closely ever since your mission. I think he expects something from both of us now."

Shina smirked. "Well, Itachi, let's give him a show, shall we?"

Itachi raised an eyebrow. "A show?"

Shina turned to face his brother, walking backward as he grinned. "You and me. A little sparring match. Let's see if all that training of yours can keep up with my brilliance."

Itachi blinked. "You're joking, right?"

"Absolutely not," Shina said, spinning around to jog toward the training field. "Come on, Itachi. Time to prove you're not just the clan's golden boy!"

---

The training grounds were quiet, with only a few clan members passing by to observe. Word spread quickly that Shina and Itachi were about to spar, and a small crowd began to gather, including Shisui, who perched on a nearby fence with a mischievous grin.

"This should be good," Shisui said, loud enough for everyone to hear. "The slacker versus the prodigy. Place your bets!"

Shina rolled his eyes as he stretched. "Don't get too excited, Shisui. You know I always deliver."

Itachi stood across from him, his expression calm but determined. "Don't hold back, Shina-nii."

"Oh, I wouldn't dream of it," Shina replied, activating his Sharingan.

---

The sparring match began with a blur of movement. Itachi's speed and precision were remarkable, his small frame darting in and out of Shina's reach with ease. Shina, however, countered with unorthodox tactics, using feints and sudden changes in movement to keep his little brother on his toes.

"You've gotten faster, Itachi," Shina said, dodging a kunai. "But speed isn't everything."

"And you've gotten predictable," Itachi replied, slipping under Shina's guard and landing a light tap on his ribs.

The crowd murmured in surprise as Shina stumbled back, his eyes widening in mock horror. "Oh no! The prodigy strikes!"

Shisui burst out laughing. "Come on, Shina! Don't embarrass yourself now!"

Shina grinned and launched himself at Itachi, his movements now sharper and more focused. The two exchanged blows and techniques, their Sharingan eyes spinning as they read and countered each other's attacks.

Finally, Shina managed to outmaneuver Itachi, sweeping his legs out from under him and pinning him to the ground.

"Gotcha," Shina said, panting slightly.

Itachi looked up at him, a small smile on his face despite his defeat. "You're stronger than I thought, Shina-nii."

Shina helped him up, ruffling his hair. "And you're tougher than you look, squirt. Nice work."

The crowd clapped, and Shisui gave an exaggerated cheer. "Not bad, Shina-nii! But don't let it go to your head."

---

Later, as the brothers walked back home, Itachi glanced at Shina. "Thanks for sparring with me. It was… fun."

Shina grinned. "Anytime, little brother. Just don't think this means you'll win next time."

Itachi chuckled. "We'll see."

As they walked, side by side, the bond between them felt stronger than ever, built not just on blood but on mutual respect and understanding.
