Beyond SSS-Rank After Getting The God System

Chapter 139: This Is A Hospital Part 3

"So you figured that trick out as well did you? Good, it isn't nice to use you're child as a mode of transportation."

"Grandma, really not sure you're one to talk about parents using their children..." The deafening silence was the only clue Carl needed to know he messed up, but luckily Lydia appeared and distracted Lillim.

"Ah, so did Carl take all your stupidity onto himself and leave you free to be yourself?"

"Thanks Lillim, I'll assume that's your way of saying that you're happy to see me show my horns."

"Please, your breasts, stomach and legs are still covered and that makes you the most frigid member of your species. Now we need to find someone for you to bed and get the nonsense out of your system."

"Lillim! I'm not "bedding" anybody."

"Sure? I reckon Noah is still holding out hope, so if you want something deeper, maybe you should ask him out." Carl suggested. "I agree with Kyubi and Grandma, you need to stop holding back, at least I'm just oblivious and easily distracted."

"My love-life is none of anyone's business but mine... I came here to apologise to my colleagues and face the truth." Lydia approached the men and women laying in the beds resting.

"So you're not a hybrid?" One of them asked, a bit confused about how she hid it.

"Yes, I am, but just barely compared to most. My blood favours the inhuman elements, though I'm not sure why. I used to hide my horns and stuff under hair and clothes, but then I learned to hide them like a demon and suppressed it all.

My pheromones are also much, much stronger than the average hybrid, so I have to be even more careful. I learned that during the equality movement and they branded me a high-level threat and banned me from romantic involvement.

I learned to suppress my pheromones to some extent, but it causes a hormonal imbalance that leads to obsessive and controlling behaviour when I reach a certain threshold for stress."

"Understandable, Succubi pheromones are a mystery. It makes sense that limiting their release would cause a build up in your system, I wonder if it's a weakness caused by your human side..."

Carl stretched with a smug expression before speaking. "Well, look at that, you tell people and they help you brainstorm immediately."

"Carl, I might remind you that you have your own stupidity to suffer for, so try not to look so pleased with yourself."

"Okay, I didn't want to play this card so quickly, but why don't you tell us how you used to kiss people hello when you were younger?"

"What? You mean like with Faylorna? She was an attractive and delightfully innocent soul, I wanted to see if I could corrupt her and maybe have some fun with her... Did you think I would be shy about it?" Lillim asked with the most sincere lack of understanding she had ever shown.

"Carl, you do know your grandmother has taken many lovers of many species and rarely cared about something as trifling as gender. As long as they have strong genes which could serve Samael, she isn't what you'd call picky."

"Carl, did you seriously just try to, blackmail me? I don't know whether to be ashamed, disappointed, happy or proud... It is nice to see you try new things and I'm proud to see you stand up to me, but that attempt was pathetic and short-sighted... I'd still happily sleep with Faylorna, I'd still happily sleep with Kyubi, Klaire, even you... Not like we're blood related."

Lydia returned to his side. "Carl, did you think she mothered all demons by being as conservative as us?"

"Honestly, I figured it was more like a moniker, I didn't think she actually mothered them all."

"Yes and no... From what Kyubi told me while we were alone sh-"

"My story is mine to tell Lydia, I have permitted Kyubi to make it known while they're away."

"Away?"

"Oh yeah, some of us are going on a trip, we've decided that the hectic pace needs to stop, so we're slowing things down and taking a break. We actually stopped by today because I wanted to give the staff here partners of their own as a reward for their work and the invaluable skills they bring to the faction."

"Wait! We're getting kids like Healy!?"

"If I survive long enough, but Grandma is still deciding whether or not to kill me..."

The thoughtful expression on Lillim's face was telling and spoke of doom and pain.

"No, no, no... Don't worry, I'll punish you when you return, you'll have forgotten and it will be all the sweeter for your ignorance."

Carl laughed nervously then began finding out what everyone wanted as a partner. Most of them wanted jelly spirits like Healy, so it was pretty affordable and fast, but one wanted something a bit more bespoke.

"If it isn't too much trouble, could I have one that can read emotions? You probably know this, but when Banshee lose their love, they also lose empathy and I'd like to compensate for that."

"Tch, tragic little ankle-biter. "'Tis better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all." You should be glad that you had the opportunity to do so."

"I now, ancestor Faylorna, but for my patients' sakes I need to be able to know how they're feeling..."

"Ugh, fine, Carl may reinforce your weakness without concern of reprimand. However I want to make it clear that my hybrid descendants should only seek this in order to help others."

"Yes ancestor."

"Hmph, I don't even know why they bother listening to me anymore, my heir is more than ready to succeed me since she bested me."

"Klaire did what now?..." Faylorna grumbled and trailed off, leaving carl's question unanswered. "Well, anyway, I actually just made the perfect partner for someone this morning."

Carl decided to make her the same pseudo-carbuncle species that he had created for Lacey earlier with the addition of white serpent healing power.

After that, Carl quickly excused himself, making it home a little after lunchtime to an empty house. "I guess, they're on Archyon..." Carl considered going to fetch them, but realised it would inevitably get him dragged into it and he still wasn't ready for it. "...Guess I'll eat, go see the vampires and pick up the kids."

A portal opened suddenly and pulled him back into the hospital. "Carl, these idiots under control, this is a hospital and not some bar for Lillim to start picking mates for people."

Lydia was bright-red, backed by Tiamat who apparently opened the portal. Lillim was looking at the doctors and verbally assessing their worth as potential mates, not just for her, but Lydia, Faylorna and even Tiamat.

"You think I can stop her? The only thing I can do is ask Tiamutael to send them away somewhere, but nothing stopping them from coming back."

"Okay..." Car thought for a moment. "...Grandma, if you stop disrupting the hospital I'll set up a bar where people can meet up..."

Everyone stopped and stared at him, Tiamat laughed even harder, then the others joined in. "Congratulations Grandson, you're so amusing it would be waste to kill you for your rudeness. Make this "bar", I'm interested to see what you think is involved in coupling."

"Yes, it should be amusing at the least, considering he has got by with women simply falling in love with him." Faylorna chuckled.

"I mean... I kind of figured I'd allot you guys an allowance and you could make it."

"Now that would spoil the fun, how about you go and give it your best shot and we will fix all your mistakes."

"Can I just admit I'm an idiot now and leave you guys to it, I have things to do before we go."

"Ugh, fine, you're boring these days Carl. I used to be able to scare you into doing anything." Lillim grumbled. "Who is to oversee this "bar"? I'll go talk to them."

"Actually, I think you would probably be best, you know about most species and that stuff. I'm willing to bet you also know a good deal about drinks given the wine you used to bring over."

"Well, well, I admit I'm surprised you noticed. Fine. I suppose it would be nice to have some way to while away the time when things are peaceful. Do you have any frigid moral restrictions?"

"Mum will come by occasionally and tell you if something needs to stop."

"So the place will be boring then?" Lillim sighed with a deep disappointment after glimpsing the first chance to spread some sin.

"Hey, Mum let plenty of bars operate on the SAT-Station, they were modest but still fun."

"I can vouch for that, they weren't bad. As much as she can be a buzz-kill, Leanna does understand that people need to blow off steam." Lydia shrugged.

Carl sent a message through to Sis and Leanna about the issue and then was about to excuse himself when he added one final warning. "If relationship drama becomes a bother, I'll shut it down. I had to use laws to change myself to my own, so not really fond of the idea of dealing with other people's."

Lillim narrowed her eyes as she tried to assess the meaning of his words, remembering how single-minded he had been about Klaire and realising the newfound affection he had for Kyubi wasn't entirely organic.

"Just go, my foolish grandson. I need to discuss something with the others, so could you have my great-grandson send Bahamut here?"
