Nux after joking with coach Almedia looked at Riley up and down. The more he looked the more he smiled. "Listen boy, I think… no, I feel you have potential to be great and the environment that can nurture that greatness is in Germany at Dortmund. Since you have passed here I just need to talk to your parents or guardian about the specifics." Nux said and Riley froze for a second and he started trembling. He had forgotten that for all this kind of transfer and stuff, his parents needed to be notified.

Riley calmed down a bit, "I don't think that's possible sir." Nux who heard this frowned a little, "why? Why would it not be possible?" Riley started having premonitions about him and grandpa Nux talking to his father and him telling them no. Grandpa Nux leaving and Diogo beating him senseless afterwards. "My father, he, he doesn't let me play football. If he finds out about this he might really kill me." Riley said with a trembling voice.

Nux immediately got a sense of what was going on. He started to think. "What about your mother? Does he also not want you to play?" Nux asked Riley. Riley shook his head and spoke, "My mother lives in England not here in Portugal so yeah it is no use mentioning her." Riley smiled a sad smile that prompted coach Almedia to pat his back.

"That's going to be a problem than." Nux started to think, "wait, is your mother active in your life? Like is she on your birth certificate and stuff?" Nux asked with a hopeful gaze. Riley's eyes lit up and he nodded. "Hahahaha, good, good, very good. Call your mother then." Riley who hasn't spoken with his mother for years because of his father's instruction was a little doubtful. Nux quickly handed him his phone. Riley dailed up his mother's number which he knew by heart.

The phone rang a couple of times until it was picked up, a sweet voice sounded from the other side.

"Kiara's phone, hello."

Riley for a second couldn't find his words and his eyes got watery all of a sudden. "Hello mom." Riley said in english with an accent.

Kiara on the other side of the phone started breathing hard, "Hello, Riley is that you?" Riley smiled a little and thought he should just say what he wanted to say and hope she agrees. Their meeting is coming but it can't happen over a phone. "Yes mom it's me." Riley replied after some time. Kiara from her tone sounded excited but Riley shut it down before it got out of hand.

"Mom, Im calling because I need a favour. See I just went through a football trial and a scout from Germany wants to sign me to the academy. I need a parents consent so… I called you. Father is, well he won't sign anything." Kiara on the other side kept quiet as she listened to Riley, after some time she spoke, "Okay, I will sign anything you want me to sign. I have a question. Who will you take with you to Germany?"
