POV Kingpin

I was reading over reports of our progress in ensuring smooth control over the USA. As I was reading the representative of Team Rocket came in.

'Still can't believe I managed to make a deal with them.'

RR: "Kingpin you asked for my presence."

Kingpin: "Yes, I was just wondering if I could clarify why you suggest we lessen our operations in NYC."

RR: "It's simple. Why waste millions of dollars trying to stop Spiderman and Daredevil and whatever other superhero appears in NYC when you can simply move elsewhere and they won't pursue you? You will gain an overall increase in revenue as you don't have to waste money trying to stop superhumans. You won't lose reputation as we are your backers and everyone with half a brain cell knows not to oppose you. If those who dislike you move into NYC, you can let them deal with the NYC resource sink."

I think about what he is saying and I hate to admit it but he has a point. The strategic move would be just to move elsewhere.

Kingpin: "Hmm, you are right as usual. I will start moving my guys out of NYC. Do you have a suggested city to move to instead?"

RR: "Philadelphia or San Diego."

Kingpin: "Philadelphia would probably be best. It isn't that far away and still leaves us open to trade from Europe. That and I can still keep an eye on any troublemakers in NYC."

RR: "Good to hear. I will let Giovanni know of your logical move. Now on to the payment for this month. Is it ready?"

Kingpin: "Yes, I have prepared the Silver and Gold you asked for. I also have the bodies of people who decided to harm the people under my protection."

RR: "Good to hear. I will take my leave for today."

I nod to him and I think about how I got here.

'I know some of my subordinates think we should break away from Team Rocket but honestly, I don't know why. I have all the power I could ever want in the USA. Sure I may have no sway overseas but I don't need it. I may have to pay off my debt to Team Rocket but all things considered, it isn't that much and I should have paid off the debt by mid-2008. As for paying them tribute. It is a small price to pay to get all the benefits I gain from their name. No one can oppose me with their backing.'

I smile and look over the city sights. I see a certain webslinger swing by.

'Hmm, almost everyone. But once I remove most of my operation from here I won't have to deal with those annoyances anymore. I feel a bit stupid for not realizing I have the entire country to rule over. Why am I still staying in this one city?'

A Few Weeks Later...

POV Daredevil

I was patrolling the streets at night but was becoming worried.

'Criminal activity has increased massively since Kingpin left New York. An outright gang war is about to begin at this rate. The only thing holding them back is the negotiations happening between the major gangs.'

I hear an idiot trying to break into an office. I hear the Sentinel approaching the criminal.

Sentinel: "You are trespassing leave now or be forced to."

Criminal 1: "Crap dude we need to get out of here! It's one of those killer robots."

Criminal 2: "Please all those rumors are exaggerations. They are just walking hunks of metal."

The second criminal pulls out a 50. Cal pistol and fires.

BANG

Sentinel: "Damage taken. Hostile actions confirmed. Deadly force authorized."

I feel a chill down my spine when it says that. The robot puts its hands up and opens fire turning the criminal into Swiss cheese. What I find interesting is that the one that didn't shoot is fine and unharmed.

Sentinel: "You are to remain here until law enforcement arrives or else I am authorized to open fire. Do you understand?"

Criminal 1: "Yes, I understand please don't shoot me."

The robot remains quiet and I hear sirens in the distance so I decide to move on. As I am moving away I hear the robot look in my direction. I freeze and then move slowly away. As I am moving I can hear that it is following my movements until I can't hear them anymore.

'Good thing I have never fought one of those things. I don't think I would be able to defeat one of them. And if it calls for help or blows up I know I would be captured.'

POV Rio

I was playing Smash with Chrysalis when I recieved an alert about one of the Sentinels being damaged. Chrysalis noticed that and tried to get a cheap shot on me but I just multitasked to check what happened.

'Hmm, it seems like it was just a strange occurrence of someone using a 50. Cal pistol. Those are rare enough that I don't have to worry too much. The damage was also fairly minor.'

I see Chrysalis freaking out because I am still beating her despite not paying full attention to the game. I make sure to keep looking less involved than I actually am just to rile her up.

'Now should I make an update to the Sentinels? They are a bit out of date. Maybe release a heavy-duty version that can survive even something as strong as an RPG. I will add it to the list.'

I have to stop myself from laughing as Chrysalis starts chewing on my arm.

Rio: "Okay okay. I get it I am sorry. Let's play a different game."

Chrysalis: "Hmph."

Rio: "Let's play... Monopoly."

Chrysalis: "Hiss!"

Rio: "No, then how about Uno?"

Chrysalis: "Hiss!"

I start laughing and Chrysalis realizes I was messing with her. I transform to run away from her as she chases after me. I am transformed into a brown mouse and she transforms into a blue cat. I start running like my life depends on it.

Sunset: "Hey Rio I wanted to ask about..."

Me and Chrysalis stop and look at Sunset who walks in.

Sunset: "Uh... I... got to go."

Sunset starts making a run for it but it's too late. I use a transfiguration spell and turn her into a dog. She stops and sighs.

Sunset: "Okay, but only for 20 minutes!"

Chrysalis and Sunset each pull out a plastic sword and I turn on Duel Of The Fates. Chrysalis grabs me and thus begins the battle of the ages.

15 Minutes Later...

Everybody but me is very exhausted from 15 minutes of near-constant swordplay. At some point, Sebas and Geralt appeared and started watching the entire duel. I look at both the exhausted fighters and pull out a plastic sword myself.

Chrysalis: "Gasp. Sunset we must work together to defeat this foul beast."

Sunset: "Indeed. It seems the time has come for me to defeat my master and claim the title of Sith Lord!"

Rio: "Duel me, hurt me, break me, then at last, bring me to the death, that I am, owed."

'The Sith always had such amusing lines.'

Thus begins another 10 minutes of fighting. In the end, I was the victor as they were too exhausted.

Rio: "It seems my apprentice has much to learn."

Sunset: "heh, heh, cheater, heh, heh."

I look over at Chrysalis but she seems to have fallen asleep a few minutes ago. I smile and undo the transformations before picking up Chrysalis and carrying her to bed for nap time. Before I leave I look at Sunset.

Rio: "Thank you for playing with us."

Sunset: "Eh, no problem. I was just going to read and practice magic anyway. So this way I got to do something fun."

Once I put Chrysalis to bed I walked over to Geralt.

Rio: "So was there something you needed from me? Or were you just watching for fun?"

Geralt: "A bit of both. I wanted to visit to ask you to spar but since you were in the middle of something I didn't want to interrupt. We still haven't sparred and I have heard you are a master in sword combat."

Rio: "I was trained by possibly the best Lightsaber duelist to ever exist. I surpassed him so I would think that would qualify me as a sword master. Give me some time to settle some things and I will join you for a spar in Sanctuary."

Geralt: "Take your time."

I walked to the lab and wrote down a basic plan for an improved Sentinel and then saved it. Once that was done I went to the portal room.

Rio: "Alright let's go."

Geralt smiled and nodded.

Authors Note:

A bit of a more lighthearted chapter with sprinkling of Kingpin. I always found it baffling as to why villains never just moved to another city away from superheroes. So with Kingpin having much more territory, it made sense that he wouldn't stick around to fight Spiderman and Daredevil and possibly Punisher eventually.
