Becoming an Accidental God in a New World

Chapter 109: Ch 109- How to Help- Part 4

The fact that Luna had disappeared was deeply concerning. It sounded like someone was trying to control her. I might have agreed to help Leo out, but I had no actual way to do that. So that meant that it was time for some external help.

"Leo, come with me. I have a feeling I know what can help us out."

I told him as I put on my coat to head out. Leo looked confused as he followed after me as well. Before I left the store, I turned toward the twins and Fenrir.

"Remember, you are in charge. Do not let anyone in while I am gone. Not even customers, alright?"

I told the kids, and they nodded. I locked them from the outside just for safety before I had Leo follow me all the way to the train station. There was a very important tool here to help us out.

"The train station? Why are we here…"

Leo asked, trailing off as he took in the crowd around us. I pushed him inside the station, not caring that he felt lost. All his questions were going to be answered soon.

The claw machine did not have a lot of people around. Mainly because it was not turned on. But as soon as Leo and I reached it, I turned it on. Leo looked surprised to see where I had brought him, and his eyes lit up as he saw the claw machine had powered up.

"This is… that famous claw machine? Are we going to use it? Are you sure, shopkeeper?"

Leo asked me, and I decided to give him a reason behind coming here and using the machine.

"This machine turned on as soon as we came, right? Then, that must mean that even this claw machine wants to be used by us. There is no need to hesitate. Go ahead and use this machine."

I told Leo, and his eyes sparked with new knowledge. He turned toward the claw machine before he pushed the button.

The machine turned before it let out a small ball for Leo. When he opened the ball, it was a small map of the town with an X somewhere.

"Is this… a map of this town? It seems to have been overly simplified…."

Leo sounded confused, and I decided to try and make sense of what the machine wanted to tell me. But I decided that it would just be better for us to follow the map and see where it took us first before deciding on anything else. And luckily enough, I did know where the map was pointing at.

"Let's go. I know where we need to go from here. I recognize the map."

I told Leo, and he looked thankful.

"Ah, is that so? Thank god. I was not able to understand a single thing on here."

He told me, and it was understood that he wouldn't know where to go. He and his sister had not been in this town for too long.

"Let's go… wait a minute. I need to send a signal to the police as well. Their help would be much appreciated in saving your sister."

I told Leo, and he did not seem so fond of the idea. But he did not outright reject it either.

"Alright, if that's what you think we should do, then that's fine."

He told me, and I nodded. I quickly headed toward the stationmaster's room before I knocked at the door. The man opened it, and he looked exhausted to see me.

"Shopkeeper? What are you doing here? Never mind, what can I help you with?"

The man asked, and I quickly explained the situation to the stationmaster and why we were here.

The stationmaster looked worried and shocked as well. He looked at me and then at Leo before he sighed and put his phone down.

"I understand the situation. Don't worry, I will contact General Henry for you. You should go ahead and head toward the location your sister is at."

He told us, and now the final preparation was done. We just needed to go and get Leo's sister.

The closer we got to the location of where Leo's sister was, the more nervous he looked. We had entered the elite part of town, and there were not many people on the street.

"Shopkeeper, you still have time to turn around. There's no need for you to get involved with me or my sister."

Leo told me, but it was already too late. I had already thrown in my towel on their side.

"Don't worry about it. I told you that I would help you, so I am going to help you. I'm not going to back down so easily."

I told Leo, and he finally seemed convinced that I wasn't lying or trying to trick him. A lot of people looked at us as we walked deeper into those privileged parts, and it didn't take long before the guards came to check on us.

The guards eyed us suspiciously, their expressions stiffening the moment they realized we were outsiders. Leo tensed beside me, his posture shrinking as one of the guards stepped forward.

"Halt. This is a restricted residential zone. State your purpose."

I could feel Leo's nerves spike, so I stepped forward first, showing the map the claw machine had given us.

"We're here searching for someone. A girl who went missing this morning. The trail points here."

The guard's gaze flicked down to the crude map, his brow twitching as if he wasn't sure whether to take us seriously or throw us out immediately. His partner, however, narrowed his eyes at Leo.

"A girl? Describe her."

Leo swallowed hard, his voice shaking as he answered.

"The girl looks like me."

The guard's expression shifted, the hardened look on his face easing just a little. There was a flicker of recognition, or perhaps concern.

"Wait here."

He walked a few steps away to discuss something quietly with his partner. Leo fidgeted beside me, clutching the map like it was the only thing holding him together.

After a moment, the guard returned.

"Sorry, but there is no one like that spotted here. Please return now."
