Becoming a God by Increasing Favorability in Naruto

After Shizune mentioned returning to Konoha, Koyuki and Haku turned their gaze toward Furen. Although they had been in the Land of Snow for nearly a month, the thought of parting still made them reluctant.

"Shizune-senpai, the Land of Snow should be able to complete the first batch of ice weapons in the next few days. Why not wait until they're finished before heading back to Konoha?" Furen suggested. "This way, the Konoha ninja can familiarize themselves with the ice weapons firsthand."

Kakashi nodded in agreement. "Furen makes a good point. It should only take about two more days to complete the ice weapons." With that, Kakashi bit his finger, formed a hand seal, and performed the Summoning Jutsu. In a puff of smoke, the talking pug, Pakkun, appeared.

"What's up this time, Kakashi?" Pakkun looked around and shivered. "It's a bit chilly here…"

Kakashi scratched his head. "Ah, well, this is the Land of Snow, so it's bound to be a bit uncomfortable for ninja dogs." Shizune spoke up, "Kakashi, are you suggesting…?"

Kakashi nodded, pulling out an empty scroll covered in seals. He documented the agreement with the Land of Snow and the current mission status on another sheet, then sealed it within the scroll.

"This seal can only be opened by Lady Hokage," Kakashi said, shaking the sealed scroll before handing it to Pakkun. "I'm counting on you to deliver this to Lady Tsunade."

Pakkun reluctantly held the scroll in his mouth, nodded, and disappeared in a puff of smoke.

"This way, we can stay a few more days in the Land of Snow and wait for the first batch of ice weapons to be ready." Kakashi squinted, smiling.

Hearing this, Koyuki and Haku were visibly pleased, though they concealed their emotions carefully, mindful of others.

"Then, please enjoy your stay in the Land of Snow for the next few days," Koyuki said, then instructed nearby guards, "Escort our guests from Konoha and show them around."

"Yes."

"Yes, ma'am."

Two guards took Kakashi and Shizune away to give them a tour of the Land of Snow.

Although reluctant for Furen to leave, both women were understanding and knew the importance of the situation. They playfully asked, "Furen-kun, when will you come back next time?"

Furen gently pinched Koyuki's nose, smiling. "Whenever you think of me, I'll be there."

"But I think of you all the time…"

Five days later, the Land of Snow finally completed the first batch of ice weapons: 800 Ice Senbon and 500 Ice Release Explosive Tags. The pseudo-Ice Release ninja, equipped with chakra armor, were inexperienced with crafting such weapons, so most of the ice weapons were made by Fubuki. Quietly, Koyuki had her subordinates set aside a portion of the ice weapons, allowing Furen and the others to stay for an extra two days.

Once Kakashi stored the first batch of ice weapons in a storage scroll, they set off to return.

"Furen, we owe this mission's success to you," Shizune said to Furen on the boat ride back to Konoha.

Furen was momentarily taken aback but then nodded, saying, "It's all for the village…"

Hearing his reply, Shizune murmured to herself, "For the village… yes, for the village."

Standing on the deck, Shizune watched the sea breeze tousle Furen's hair, lost in thought. With his near-solo effort in securing this cross-nation weapon agreement, his promising talent as an almost-Jonin-level ninja, and his striking appearance… Shizune's cheeks flushed as she thought, "What am I even thinking…"

Shizune's favorability toward you increased by +10.

"Though Tsunade's favorability hasn't improved much, Shizune's is nearly maxed out," Furen noted as the system chimed in his mind.

Back in Konoha, the first thing they did was head straight to the Hokage's office.

"Lady Tsunade," the three greeted her.

"Ah, you're all back," Tsunade said, rising with anticipation. She had already read the report brought by Pakkun and eagerly awaited their return.

"Lady Hokage, please have a look."

Taking out the scroll, Kakashi unsealed the ice weapons for Tsunade to examine.

"Hmm… very impressive," Tsunade said, observing the different types of Ice Senbon and the two variations of Ice Release Explosive Tags. "Furen, you did an excellent job on this mission."

Tsunade's favorability toward you increased by +3.

According to Kakashi's report, Furen had almost single-handedly secured this agreement through his connections. Without him, establishing such a military weapon trade would have been nearly impossible. These ice weapons would have a considerable impact on Konoha, and it was all thanks to Furen's efforts.

"Has this mission not been fully completed yet?"

"At this rate, after a few more missions, Furen, you'll be a Jonin like us soon," Shizune said with a soft smile.

Tsunade put away the weapons, intending to have the ANBU test them first. She nodded, "Furen, keep up the hard work; you're close to becoming a Jonin…"

"Jonin, huh?" Furen muttered to himself, glancing at the towering stack of mission scrolls on Tsunade's desk.

Though he had been away for quite some time, the backlog of tasks was still massive.

"Hmm, what's this…?"

Furen picked up a scroll from the pile and noticed it was a B-rank mission for an escort task.

"This mission hasn't been completed yet?" Furen murmured in surprise.
