Becoming a Billionaire after Divorce

Chapter 111: Night! Beach! Beauty!_2

Li Sili really had a knack for charming both men and women.

After the group of four said their goodbyes to the couple, the girlfriend was still basking in the glow of the earlier sweet talk.

"Shouldn't we take a few pictures too?" her boyfriend's words shattered her pleasant dream.

"Pictures, pictures, pictures, that's all you ever think about! Take a good look at yourself before you start taking pictures. When they take photos, it's an honor for the scenic spot. When you do it, you're just polluting the view."

His girlfriend's words made his head buzz. What was that? What kind of thing was that to say?

Damn it. The second I get rich, I'm dumping this tyrannosaurus.

"Are we taking them or not? If we are, get over here!" The woman had a sharp tongue but a soft heart.

"Hehe... sure! Make me look handsome, yeah!" The man, for his part, was brave in thought but timid in action.

Quite the pair. A perfect snapshot of an ordinary couple.

「...」

After exploring the Bund, they went to the observation deck of the Shanghai Tower to take in the city's nightscape. The weather was nice today, with no fog, so the view was perfectly clear.

"Wow! It's so high up!" Li Sili exclaimed in awe.

"It's absolutely beautiful!" Yun Yuqing was captivated by the stunning scene, pulling out her phone to snap photos.

Fang Sihan, however, stood silently, gazing at the scenery below, lost in thought.

"What's wrong?" Taking advantage of the other two being lost in their own worlds, Sun Dasheng walked up to Fang Sihan and gently wrapped an arm around her.

Her first reaction was exactly like Yun Yuqing's had been earlier at the Bund. She instinctively glanced toward the other two women. Fortunately, the observation deck was crowded with tourists. Even though they weren't far apart, the other tourists blocked the view, so Yun Yuqing and Li Sili couldn't see what they were doing at all.

Seeing this, Fang Sihan's body finally relaxed, though her tone still carried a hint of complaint. "Uncle, be careful. If Sili sees us, I'd like to see how you explain it."

"Tell me what's on your mind. Don't try to change the subject," Sun Dasheng said, hugging her tighter. She felt the powerful strength in his arms.

For her, however, this strength wasn't uncomfortable; instead, it gave her an immense sense of security. The memory of him knocking out that thug on the street with a single punch was still vividly etched in her mind. She didn't know what it was like elsewhere, but in the small northeastern county where she grew up, strength was the primary element for survival. Back then, life was tough, and plenty of people were involved in the underworld. Only strength could protect you and your family.

Perhaps it was the influence of her upbringing, but in any case, the fact that Sun Dasheng could fight and was powerful only made her love him more.

And her love came without reservation.

Since Brother Sun had asked what was on her mind, she didn't intend to hide it.

"It's about my family."

"Your family?" Sun Dasheng nodded. For a young woman her age, any worries she had were likely related to family or romance. Their relationship was certainly fine. Since getting together with him, she not only had nothing to worry about but could get pretty much anything she wanted. Her life had improved by several levels. That only left family issues. He realized he hadn't been paying much attention to the three of them lately, so he hadn't noticed in time that something was wrong.

Sun Dasheng gently stroked her hair. "What happened at home?"

Fang Sihan nodded, then shook her head.

For a moment, Sun Dasheng couldn't quite grasp what she meant.

Meeting his puzzled gaze, Fang Sihan let out a chuckle. "It's not what you're thinking, Uncle. Real life isn't as melodramatic as a TV show. My family isn't in any trouble."

Although Sun Dasheng reserved judgment on that point, he didn't argue. "Then what is it?"

"Maybe I'm just being sentimental. I'm here in the big city living the high life, while my parents are back in our poor hometown, enduring a frugal, difficult existence," she said, resting her head on Sun Dasheng's shoulder. She gently traced a finger on his chest, pouring out the frustration and restlessness that had been building for days. "But you know, Uncle, all the money I have comes from you. If I just gave it to my parents, they would grill me relentlessly until they got to the bottom of it. I wouldn't be able to withstand their questioning, and I can't invent a believable story to fool them. So I want to help, but I don't even know where to start."

So that's what this is about. Sun Dasheng understood now.

She's living a good life now and wants her parents to enjoy it with her. It's such a simple, sincere sentiment. Even if her parents might put "good life" in quotation marks, the fact that she has this desire proves she's a filial daughter.

"What's so difficult about that? It might seem incredibly hard for you, but for me, it's very simple."

"Really?" Fang Sihan looked up at him, her eyes filled with hope, which then shifted to hesitation. "Uncle, wouldn't this be too much trouble for you? If I ask this of you, will he think I'm a nuisance? I'm already living off him, enjoying a good life thanks to him. Asking him to help my family on top of that... isn't that being ungrateful, pushing my luck?"

"What are you thinking about? You're overthinking it," Sun Dasheng said with a smile, patting her head. "For me, handling this is as simple as you grabbing breakfast on your way to school. It's no trouble at all."

Hearing her uncle say this filled Fang Sihan with a wave of emotion. She felt that he must truly have her in his heart, that he must love her, to be willing to do so much for her. Besides, she knew the breakfast analogy was just something he said to comfort her.
