Chapter 17: Chapter 17
3rd POV
" He asked if he was doing well enough and if he could try some tests again to improve. A kid who was supposed to be only a normal human scored better than most kids we accept here, and he asked if he was doing good enough. It's unbelievable." Aizawa almost shouted after sitting down on the sofa, all the other teachers around him having a similar expression to his.
" From what we saw and considering his previous absence of a quirk, he might have gone through bullying, so it's only natural that he thinks of himself as not good enough, and from the discussion I had with his mother, I have an idea why it is so." Hound dog, the school counselor says after the silence in the room had become unbearable.
" What do you mean?"
" His nickname in his previous school was Deku, which can be translated as wooden doll or something without any use, for the better part of his life he has been called nothing but useless, and because of the view of society on quirkless people, no one ever helped him, the kid has years of bullying to remove from his system before actually understanding his maximum abilities, no matter how much he progresses, if he doesn't remove that mentality he won't change."
" Of course, the kid with monstrous talent doesn't have a good mentality," Aizawa exclaims after sipping the tea that had been made by one of the teachers.
" I wouldn't say that even without all of his skills or strength I would still see him as a monstrous human just for his mentality," Cementos said while sighing and waving his head.
" Why would you say that?" Mightnigt asked, not understating why would such a cute child be called a monster.
"Has anyone here read the book that had been mentioned during our discussion?"
" I have only heard of it, it's banned almost everywhere in the world because of how it has caused thousands of people to do terrorist attacks against the hero societies of their respective countries," Aizawa answered Cemento's question.
" That's only what normal people know, the book is quirk written."
" What? Then how did Mid-" Midnight was interrupted by Cementos.
" Let me finish, it was written by a man who went through a quirk evolution after the less then fortunate end of his wife, it evolved to make him mentally manipulate people through the things he writes, and using it he discovered secrets of hero societies that would make any normal person mad, and he did become mad, filed by that madness he wrote that book, each word infused by his quirk, by the end of it his brain had melted from quirk overuse, he was able to publicise it because somehow his quirk worked even after death, so he manipulated a well known Russian publishing house, the book got taken down in a month, but the hundreds of copies still spread and remained, the book manipulated the emotions of the one reading it, either from paper or an ebook, to feel angrier, to remove their emotion inhibitors, to fell angry against the higher authorities, but you know what I saw when I looked at Midoriya's eyes? Flames, undying flames ready to change the world, to reform it and let it become a better place, not only he was able to resist the manipulation of the book, but his conviction only became stronger after reading it, so yeah, I call such a kid a monster."
"... That is the longest I have ever seen him talk." Present Mic tried to lighten the mood, failing terribly.
" We also have to consider how his brain can't be defined as normal," Ectoplasm spoke for the first time in this discussion, making everyone turn to him.
" I have studied years to become able to do these calculations in my mind, and it would still take me at least an hour to do this whole sheet of questions, it took him 15 minutes, and when I asked if he did all of them without a calculator he asked if he could ask for one, the audacity."
" He is also quite good in the languages he learnt, he said he started learning them in case he'd ever need someone from another country, honestly, can a kid even be that good?" Mic said as a joke, this time making the teacher smile, knowing exactly what he meant.
Izuku Midoriya had been anything but sweet from the moment their eyes had fallen on him, how could such a kid be as monstrous as he is, and still so kind after what he went through can't be explained with words
" What was that about you asking for him to draw you?" Mic asked Midnight.
" Has any of you seen his drawing? The one he made pop out of nowhere, I have a picture of it if you want to see it, though the picture does it little justice."
Mic, Cementos, and Ectoplasm got curious and moved behind midnight to see the picture.
It took a few seconds before everyone's eyes got watery, the emotions of the drawing being unstoppable even through a simple screen.
" Yeah ok, I am going to protect that kid with my life if needed." Mic nearly used his quirk when saying that, making everyone cover their ears.
" Becoming deaf aside, my theory of him being a monster only becomes more concrete with everyone's thoughts about him."
" Yeah, we surely have a fine piece of work on our hands this year." Aizawa finally talked once again after being silent to relax.
" I just hope he doesn't overwork himself."
" Where is he now?"
" With Nezu."
Everyone started praying for the survival of Izuku.
