Became a Demon with Pregnancy System

Chapter 14: Chapter 14: Is this even a confession?

Luke paused, considering her with amusement. "Threatening me, already? All right. Clothes it is, then."

With a flick of his wrist, he used his mind control and wove together some nearby leaves into a crude garment. "There. Satisfied?"

Tanya huffed before grudgingly accepting the interwoven leaves as clothing.

Luke set her down in front of a massive stone tablet. "Look at this," he gestured to the carvings.

Tanya hesitated before turning her gaze away from him toward the mural. Her breath caught as she recognized the shapes with their intricate designs.

"These…" she whispered, fingers brushing across its surface. "These are totemic murals."

The carvings tell of demon wolves worshipped by humans, their transformation into totemic creatures, and their subsequent battles against other demons to protect their followers.

"This proves nothing," Tanya managed, though her voice trembled slightly.

"Look closer," said Luke.

At last, her eyes alighted on one specific figure, a wolf with wings, set towering above its fellows.

"The winged wolf," she murmured, her resolution fading again.

Luke stepped forward, his voice a little more gentle: "This was my ancestor. The totemic Star Wolf. Now, do you understand?"

Tanya's eyes opened wide as she gaped at Luke. "If you're really a totem, where's your guardian? Where's your totemic vessel?"

Luke's expression became sombre. "I lost mine," he admitted. "My branch of the Star Wolf lineage was scattered remnant. But that will change."

"Already spinning me into the odd stuff to convince me?" Tanya shouted, disbelief staining every syllable.

He held her gaze, unwavering. "Provided those children are mine, yes. That's the most reliable way I know of to rebuild my lineage."

Tanya blinked at the sincerity of his voice.

"Is... is this even a confession?" she thought despite herself, her cheeks warming up. "What kind of confession is so blunt?"

Zoe looked at the exchange between Luke and Tanya beneath her with a slight smirk and rising curiosity.

"Hot dish!" Zoe muttered, shaking her head. "Is Tanya going to buy that?"

The Bone-Spur Wolf under her let out a low growl and shifted. Zoe patted it absentmindedly on the side.

"Hey, don't worry. I'll be watching him."

While Tanya was looking at the murals, her doubt began to falter. The evidence was clear: Luke's lineage was indeed tied to the totemic Star Wolf.

But accepting his claims did not mean she was going to accede to his demands.

"Maybe you're a totem," Tanya finally said, keeping her voice steady. "That doesn't mean I'm beholden to you."

Luke smiled. His confidence remained unshaken. "Maybe not. But I'm more than willing to wait."

Tanya narrowed her eyes. "You are so annoying."

"Well, here we are," Luke replied lightly.

"Teacher Tanya, are you well now?"

Zoe Miller's voice rang through the atmosphere of the mountainous terrain, breaking the silence around the cluster of ancient stone tablets. She was still maintained to her makeshift mount atop Wolf One, as she perceived Tanya Reed coming closer with some hesitation.

Tanya glanced at Zoe and turned toward Luke, who leant against one of the tall stone monuments. Her eyebrows knitted together with worry and disbelief.

'What is going on here?' thinks Tanya. 'Has Zoe succumbed? What sort of spell did this Skywolf cast over her?'

Her eyes drifted down to Zoe's leaf-clothing, which closely resembled her own impromptu outfit. Realization washed over her and her features suddenly soured.

"This little girl," Tanya muttered to herself. "Don't tell me she has gotten all weak in the knees for him... his, his... talents."

For one moment, Tanya forgot everything, herself included, about Luke's great physique. She whipped around her head in an effort to erase that image.

"Zoe," Tanya started with a gentle tone now, "did he hurt you? Did he-"

Zoe raised her hand to stop her at once. "I'm all right, Teacher. There is no point in dwelling on what is already past."
