Beauty in the beast world

Chapter 337: Banquet [Lion tribe]

Lyra decided to wear a dress that Victor had designed for her. He wanted to see her wear it as soon as he finished it but she was hesitant. The dress was too beautiful to wear during her other mundane day. Hence, she stored it away in hopes of wearing it on special occasions. What other occasions would surpass tonight's banquet?

Her Noah was going to participate in a ritualistic duel to prove himself worthy of the throne. As his mate, it was her duty to look the part. She wanted to stand proudly beside him. After Lyra received the trunk containing her dress, she quickly took a bath. Scrubbing herself and washing her hair so that she could feel fresh.

Kyrell helped her dry her hair with a towel as she sat near her vanity. His grooming place had become hers with all the jewelry and headpieces scattered around. From crushing dried rose petals, she managed to make a powder that somewhat resembled a blush. The color was subtle but she would take anything at this point. The Beast world had no idea about makeup and such things; the women here wore all kinds of precious jewelry and gems, but putting color on their faces was foreign to them. It was understandable; they looked already beautiful, and they didn't need add-ons.

But her earth self somewhat felt odd whenever she went to special occasions with a bare face. It was as though she was missing something.

With her mate's help, she was about to put on the dress. First, she tied her breasts with snug clothing as she didn't have access to a bra there. She smiled as she raised her brow as Kyrell looked at her in confusion.

"Doesn't it hurt?" He asked not understanding why his mate was bounding her breasts so tightly. It looked uncomfortable to him; would she even be able to breathe with that on?

"It hurts if I don't do this" Lyra replied. The dress she was about to wear had many pearls attached to it. The last thing she wanted was to get her pregnant tender breasts poked. After tying the makeshift bra, she slipped inside the dress as Kyrell helped her tie up the elaborate straps on her back.

"A little tighter," She instructed her mate, and he did a very good job of following through. Lyra was thinking about calling Victor to help her but Kyrell's handiwork was good enough. Now she had a good opportunity to surprise Victor. His sweet and shocked face was worth the hassle.

The dress, as said by Victor, was created from a material known as white silk gathered by the famous silk spiders found only in the forbidden forest. It was difficult getting inside those woods and the mountains, they were a nightmare to live in. Though Lyra had never seen it with her own eyes, the stories about that place made her absolutely hesitant to ever go there. She also heard that Mona and the Tiger tribe lived near the Forbidden Forest and had to face many dangers in doing so. Lucas always mentioned that only fierce Beastmen like Tigers would be able to live there. The forest was filled with resources that sometimes tempted people to go there but only some made it back alive.

"Your majesty?" A sound beyond the door made Lyra put down the handmade cushion that she was using to put a blush on her cheeks.

"Yes?"

"Your majesty, the banquet is about to start," One of the guards informed, and Lyra got up from her seat. She turned to Kyrell and saw him dressing up in his new ceremonial robe and answered, "We will be there in a few minutes"

Lyra guessed the guard must have left due to the disappearing footsteps. She quickly combed her hair and pinned it into a bun showing off the beautiful dress to its fullest. Today's star was her dress, with its whitish-blue iridescent color and texture that shimmered in the dark with pearls adorning it near the seams. Whenever a pearl came into contact with another, a clear clinking sound resembling the serene running stream could be heard. Victor really knew what he was doing. The man could have been a master seamster and would have become a famous designer in the fashion world.

As her ornaments, she chose a shimmery headpiece with studded blue gems and put it on one side of her head. Then she adorned her neck with a matching necklace and her fingers with rings attached to the bracelet. The craftsmen here in the beast world were wonderful at creating Jewelry pieces even without any modern technology. One of her rings would have taken months to make by hand.

"Are you ready, Love?" Kyrell asked as he took in his mate's beautiful presence. She really was going to stop his heart one day by always looking so beautiful.

Lyra applied a little bit of color to her lips before turning to him, "I am, Let's go"

Kyrell took a deep breath, "You look like a Goddess." That was an understatement, but he had no higher adjectives to describe her. Every word that came into his mind fell short of what his eyes were seeing.

"Thank you," Lyra said thanking his compliment and giving her own, "You look handsome too, my sweetheart"

Kyrell smiled as he felt his mate kiss his cheek before she held his arm wanting to get escorted. He did so gladly and walked out of his chambers and into the corridor leading to the banquet which was held near the plaza behind the palace.

Victor was teasing Demir by snatching the scentbind from his hands. The latter had worked hours gathering the most fragrant flowers and putting them together so that they could make a unique smell. These scents enhanced the natural musk of the female body making them even more desirable.

"Give it back," Demir asked with a grim voice. He wanted to gift his mate this scentbind and well see her beam in happiness after receiving it. He liked seeing her like that. But this bastard vulture stole it from him, "Victor.....I'm not jesting. Give it back!"

Blake turned to look at them when he heard a loud sound but ignored it after seeing them banter with each other. He had better things to do.

Victor laughed at Demir, not at all scared about the threat. He juggled the scentbind from one hand to another doing everything to rile Demir up. However, his actions came to a halt when he saw something that left him out of breath.

His sweet girl, his dream girl was coming toward him while she wore the dress that he lovingly made for her. Everything other than her at that moment blurred for him. For the thousandth time, he thought to himself, he was one lucky bastard to have that ravishing specimen as his mate.
