Chapter 17: Unfamiliar World At The Bottom Of The Ocean
Shu Hanyu knew that the female was a little fearful of the unfamiliar sea, and the snake body wrapped around him tightened a little, hoping to bring him a sense of security.
Don’t be scared, we’re almost there. He could already see the golden seabed.
Shu Jintian thought, in any case, he couldn’t escape, so might as well let Shu Hanyu bring him along.
Shu Jintian rested for a while, feeling slightly dispirited. The sea seemed to have brightened a lot, the deep, dark blue turning into a clear and light hue, a layer of serene and mystical colour.
His eyes widened in curiosity, and he lifted his head from the back of the snake.
The sea that originally had not a single soul was filled with fluorescent ribbons emitting blue, yellow, and white glows, drifting in the water in bunches. It illuminated the world at the bottom of the sea, and with the light, Shu Jintian could see all kinds of strangely shaped fishes swimming around in the water.
Looking closely, it turned out that these things emitting serene light were strips of fluttering seaweed. They seemed to be anchored to the reef, rippling from the bottom to the top. The tall ones were over ten metres, while the short ones were one to two metres.
And at the lowest part of the seaweed lay a golden seabed, so clean there didn’t seem to be any dust or dirt.
When his eyes adapted to the light, Shu Jintian discovered that at the edges of the beautiful seaweed were all kinds of small fishes shuttling back and forth. Some of these gorgeously-coloured fishes were still, while some were moving. Sometimes they stayed dazedly in a corner, then scuttled out abruptly like clever seabed sprites.
Shu Jintian’s jaw dropped in astonishment, and a few bubbles immediately escaped from his mouth.
At this time, Shu Hanyu turned around and leaned closer to the female’s mouth. About time to give air, he thought with narrowed eyes.
Shu Jintian didn’t avoid him either. When the big snake’s mouth approached him, he pouted his lips and quickly inhaled a breath of oxygen.
During this journey, he had gotten used to Shu Hanyu’s breath.
Even though Shu Hanyu was a large python, in reality, his breath was very clean with no strange odour. After being intimate with him so often, Shu Jintian suddenly realised he no longer felt as nauseous as before, so much that he was no longer as repelled by Shu Hanyu’s serpentine form.
“Looks good?” Shu Hanyu turned into a human again and hugged Shu Jintian’s waist.
Shu Hanyu’s voice came from within the sea and rippled into Shu Jintian’s ear, and it wasn’t as soft as usual. It sounded pure and was a little deeper with a low charm.
“Mn!” Shu Jintian replied through his closed mouth and nodded. Hooking an arm around Shu Hanyu’s neck, he pointed at the seaweed emitting a blue glow in front of them. Shu Jintian said to Shu Hanyu, “Mmmm!”
It didn’t break! The satin-like seaweed seemed thin, but was extremely tough. Shu Jintian tugged at the seaweed and bit it with his teeth.
How tough! Though this seaweed was thin and slender, it was tough like a cow’s tendon. His teeth that bit into it were aching. Tch! He even thought he could eat it like kelp ne!
Shu Hanyu looked at the female’s foolish appearance and couldn’t help snorting in laughter. His voice filled with amusement rippled in the water, leading Shu Jintian to turn his head back and look at him.
“Want to eat? There’s one type that can be eaten there, I’ll bring you over!” With that, Shu Hanyu flipped Shu Jintian’s body over and passed him a breath.
“Mnmn!” Shu Jintian nodded frantically and swam in the direction Shu Hanyu pointed.
Shu Hanyu was unwilling to let go of him. With an arm wrapped around Shu Jintian, he slowed down and followed after him.
The plant was a plump, dark-blue sea plant that was shaped in a strip. It was short and only about two or three metres tall. It was attached to a large rock, and emitting a faint glow.
The root of the marine algae was thick and flat, like the blossom of a cockscomb flower. It parted into a few narrower branches above, then those branches had a few more branches. The entire kelp was tangled and complicatedly interweaved together, and was extremely dense.
Shu Hanyu broke off a small part of the most tender end of the Lian Fish Zao, then extended it to Shu Jintian’s mouth.
“This can be eaten?” Shu Jintian looked curiously at this thing that didn’t seem very impressive, and was a little suspicious. Though Shu Hanyu broke off the soft shoot at the very tip, and it was only as thick as a pinkie finger, those beautiful yet thin seaweed were already very coarse, so how could such a thick thing be edible?
Shu Hanyu moved the Lian Fish Zao closer to the female’s lips, looking at him with a tilted head.
Seeing that Shu Hanyu was so insistent, Shu Jintian did not dare to dawdle and anger him. He carefully took the strip-shaped sea algae in his mouth, and lightly took a bite.
With a ‘beng’, the thing in his mouth crisply broke in his mouth. The strip looked quite tough, but the inside contained moisture and was refreshing and bright, and a little salty.
“Uh?” Shu Jintian was astonished and caught Shu Hanyu’s hand to look at the sea algae that had more than half remaining, and felt that it was inconceivable.
Shu Hanyu was long used to wrapping around the female. Seeing that the female liked it, he was also very happy. In fact, he didn’t like to eat this sort of aquatic plant. This Lian Fish Zao, in his inherited memory, was the food of many fishes. The Lian Fish ate them the most; almost every bunch of Lian Fish Zao had Lian Fishes living nearby.
“Does it taste nice?”
“Mhmn!” Shu Jintian was a little oxygen-deprived and hastily swallowed the food in his mouth, then stuck himself against Shu Hanyu’s pale lips.
With the female escaping so often, Shu Hanyu had already sensed his intentions. This time, he did not let him go that generously, instead holding Shu Jintian’s head and thoroughly having a certain kind of interaction with him.
The female’s mouth had a little salty flavour. So this is the flavour of the Lian Fish Zao; doesn’t seem too bad! Shu Hanyu secretly thought to himself.
“Mmmm!” Shu Jintian flicked his tongue but couldn’t break away no matter how hard he tried. The big snake’s forked tongue was slender and long, and was like the sea’s algae in his mouth, tightly curling around his tongue.
Unable to free himself, Shu Jintian simply didn’t move, letting Shu Hanyu run amok.
Possibly because Shu Jintian did not react, it wasn’t long before Shu Hanyu let him go.
Once Shu Jintian was liberated, he held all his breath in his lungs, and swallowed and spit to rinse his mouth with the seawater. His mouth felt a little numb, and maybe it was swollen ba
!Shu Jintian was a little depressed. Being kissed by a snake was just fine, just endure it once and it’ll pass. However, what was up with these repeated kisses? The instinct of a big snake loving to wrap around people really was thorough; not only did his body love coiling around, but even his tongue also did as well.
Two or three meters below them was the seabed. It was a dull gold which wasn’t too dazzling and was bright instead. It made the seabed seem more like the day.
Shu Jintian did his best to dive down, wanting to try standing on the ground. But the water pressure was too strong and made it very hard for him to go down, and his body kept floating up.
When Shu Hanyu saw the female’s intentions, the crook of his arm caught his waist and gracefully brought him to the ground.
With one foot touching the cool, fine sand, it brought about a soft and cooling feeling. Shu Jintian placed both feet on the ground, but couldn’t achieve a sense of stability. He floated back up just the same when he left Shu Hanyu’s assistance.
After coming down, Shu Jintian noticed that there were a few tiny, yellowish ‘mushrooms’ on the floor. There were some brownish spots on top, exactly like a mushroom. It was hard to discover them as they were on some brown rocks.
Shu Jintian was greatly curious, so mushrooms could grow in water? Why was it that he remembered that mushrooms were picked in mountains? Or maybe this was a variety in the ocean, sea mushrooms? But didn’t sea mushrooms only have one pure colour?
Shu Jintian curiously poked it with a finger. The plump little umbrellas withdrew underground with a ‘ting’, raising up a few granules of gold sand.
“Ah!” Shu Jintian felt that it was very fun, and poked another. The other also retreated underground, disappearing without a trace.
“Want to eat it?” Shu Hanyu deftly grabbed downwards, fishing up two intelligent yellow-spotted algae.
It can be eaten? Shu Jintian looked at Shu Hanyu suspiciously.
Shu Hanyu nodded with a smile, holding out the thing in his hand to the female’s lips.
Shu Jintian hurriedly dodged and shook his head. Something that could move, he didn’t know if it was fish or algae. Shu Jintian took the two mushrooms in Shu Hanyu’s hands and brought it in his hands.
This mushroom-like thing contracted its cap after being caught, turning into an arrowhead with spots.
He dare not eat living things, so better bring it up to roast before eating ba!
Shu Jintian turned around, and Shu Hanyu didn’t follow after him. Without Shu Hanyu’s support, Shu Jintian was partially treading water. To maintain his balance, Shu Jintian held onto some of the smooth rocks beside him and sized up the other amusing things in the water.
At the start when Shu Jintian hadn’t paid attention, he felt that this rock was a little strange, all flat with brown fur on top, like a discus thrown during sports competitions. It turned out that there was an opening on the other end, with two strips of soft and pink meat extruding out.
So it’s a shell ah! Shu Jintian used a finger to curiously poke at the pink flesh.
Shu Hanyu looked at the female and saw that there was no danger, so he reached out and caught a few of the Yellow-spotted Zao he had just given the female, swallowing a handful each.
Shu Hanyu liked eating meat, but this Yellow-spotted Zao was one of the rare marine algae foods he liked. It tasted cool and slippery, and was very yummy. It was also very good for his body.
“AH~!”
Suddenly, the female’s voice rang out in the water.
Shu Hanyu was startled and clenched his fist abruptly, the Yellow-spotted Zao in his hands crushed into a pulp. He quickly swam over to the female.
“What happened, Tiantian?”
