The piercing wolf howl, under the night sky at the Heart of Woods base, seemed especially grating.

However, all the guest rooms in Heart of Cloud had excellent soundproofing, and everyone outside had already grown accustomed to these low, powerful roars.

Su Ping's gaze narrowed slightly.

For a full ten seconds, the light faded.

This was pure light, pure glaring brightness; consequently, it possessed no great force and caused no damage or destruction to any equipment.

The Life Detector at the side continued to record any changes in Old Sha.

However, no sooner had Su Ping re-entered the lab than his eyes narrowed a fraction.

Old Sha's eyes were not closed. But, its body had undergone a change.

There was no change in Old Sha's vital signs. The changes were still in the energy fluctuations.

Because they were completely irregular.

It even made Su Ping momentarily suspect that this damn thing was broken!

The energy amplitude fluctuated, changing almost every second.
