Beast taming, starting from zero point

Chapter 89 - 85: The Adventures of the Magnetic Mouse

Chapter 89: Chapter 85: The Adventures of the Magnetic Mouse

The ultimate goal of coming back home for the summer vacation was to train the Fire-Toothed Dog so that it could evolve.

It was part of the training plan to find some wild Extraordinary Creatures to fight while back home.

Actually, Qiao Sang’s favorite spot was the small woods near Tan’an Village.

Because climbing up the mountain was troublesome, while the small woods in Tan’an Village were on flat ground, much easier to come and go.

But since they were at the foot of Huangming Mountain this time, she thought she might as well go up and look for wild Pet Beasts to train with.

On Huangming Mountain.

...

Qiao Sang carefully observed her surroundings.

Although this wasn’t a Secret Realm, high-level wild Extraordinary Creatures were unlikely to appear, but it was still necessary to take the proper safety precautions.

When facing an environment with wild Pet Beasts, the most taboo thing was to be careless.

The mountain path twisted and turned, Qiao Sang walked on the narrow trail, with the Fire-Toothed Dog and the Magnetic Han Mouse taking point.

The quietness around was uncanny, and after walking for dozens of minutes, not a single wild Pet Beast was seen.

Qiao Sang turned her gaze to the Magnetic Han Mouse leading the way upfront.

It wasn’t that there were no wild Pet Beasts at all…

The body of the Magnetic Han Mouse shivered, inexplicably feeling a chill.

Ten minutes later.

Qiao Sang finally saw the first wild Pet Beast—a Saddleworm.

Its body was brown with a yellow-green vest, making it look like a saddle, and its body, resembling a saddle, was covered in white fine hairs.

“Yaobao!” Qiao Sang immediately called out.

“Ya!”

The Fire-Toothed Dog immediately stopped and assumed a combat stance, while the Magnetic Han Mouse was startled and also stopped.

Xiao Xunbao, the Treasure-seeking Ghost, was lying on Qiao Sang’s head, curiously watching.

The Saddleworm, hearing the noise, turned its head to glance their way, then indifferently crawled past Qiao Sang at a slow pace.

Qiao Sang stood still for a long while.

This was rather embarrassing…

Some low-level wild Pet Beasts were quite naive and non-aggressive; as long as one did not provoke them, they generally wouldn’t attack without reason.

Clearly, the Saddleworm belonged to that category.

Qiao Sang felt a bit reluctant to make a move on this type of wild Pet Beast.

“Ya?”

The Fire-Toothed Dog looked at its Beast Tamer in confusion.

Qiao Sang coughed dryly, “It’s alright, I just wanted you to be careful where you step.”

“Ya.”

The Fire-Toothed Dog felt embarrassed.

It had misunderstood its Beast Tamer.

After another ten or so minutes of walking the mountain trail.

The Magnetic Han Mouse stopped and pointed to a certain spot with an inviting gesture.

“Ci.”

“Ci ci.”

Without the need for the Fire-Toothed Dog to translate, Qiao Sang understood the meaning behind the Magnetic Han Mouse’s gestures.

Just as she was about to refuse, Yu Guang suddenly caught a glimpse of a place.

Compared with other shrubs, the shaking of that particular shrub was especially noticeable.

“Yaobao!”

“Ya!”

The Fire-Toothed Dog’s eyes changed, and it assumed a combat stance again.

The next second, a slightly larger Magnetic Han Mouse burst out from the shrubs, launching an attack without hesitation.

Golden yellow electricity emanated from its body; an electric arc shot straight towards Qiao Sang in an instant.

The Fire-Toothed Dog, without thinking, charged forward to block the electric arc with its body.

Fortunately, Qiao Sang was quick enough to grab the Fire-Toothed Dog that had suddenly run in front of her and rolled to one side.

The electric arc struck the ground, sparks flew, and a small crater was left behind.

“Ya!”

“Ya Ya!”

The Fire-Toothed Dog turned its head back to look at Qiao Sang with concern.

“I’m fine,” Qiao Sang quickly got to her feet and shook her head.

She was worried that if she moved too slowly, another electric arc would come shooting at her.

Seeing that its Beast Tamer was alright, the Fire-Toothed Dog’s body erupted in red flames, its gaze furious as it looked at the magnetic brute mouse that had suddenly appeared, ready to charge at it.

But right as the Fire-Toothed Dog was about to pounce, it discovered that the magnetic brute mouse had somehow levitated, floating in mid-air.

“Magnetic!!!”

The floating magnetic brute mouse struggled desperately, glaring at Qiao Sang with a look that suggested it would love nothing more than to rush over and bite her.

Qiao Sang noticed the commotion, paused, then turned to look at Xiao Xunbao, the Treasure-seeking Ghost, by her side.

By this time, the curiosity in Xiao Xunbao’s eyes was gone.

A blue glow emanated from its body as it floated in mid-air, its yellow eyes turning blue.

Qiao Sang was startled for a moment.

Using telekinesis to control objects was one thing, but controlling living creatures was something else entirely.

The energy required for the latter was not just a little bit more.

And yet Xiao Xunbao had managed to use telekinesis to control another being, specifically a wild Pet Beast that was struggling with all its might.

To think that Xiao Xunbao was only born four days ago…

The Fire-Toothed Dog quickly snapped out of its daze.

With a plow of its hind limbs, the flames on its body expanded once again, and it blazed forward in a flash.

Its speed was so fast that it seemed like a red light had streaked by.

Just as the Fire-Toothed Dog leapt into the air to collide with the magnetic brute mouse, a yellow figure appeared in front of it.

The ferocity of the Fire-Toothed Dog’s Blazing Charge was such that it sent both the yellow figure and the magnetic brute mouse it was shielding flying.

“Magnetic!”

“Magnetic!”

Two different cries of the magnetic brute mice could be heard at the same time.

Shortly after, both magnetic brute mice passed out.

Qiao Sang looked at the slightly smaller magnetic brute mouse that had just rushed out to block the way and understood everything.

The larger magnetic brute mouse that had suddenly launched an attack obviously recognized the one she had brought back.

It must have been certain that she was the bad guy, which is why it chose to attack…

Qiao Sang looked sympathetically at the magnetic brute mouse she had brought back, now lying on the ground unconscious.

That poor kid had been through too much these past few days.

Just when it had nearly made it back home, it had to suffer through such a miserable incident.

She thought that this whole experience could make a book.

She even had a title in mind, “The Adventures of Magnetic Brute Mouse.”

“Ya!”

“Ya!”

After the Fire-Toothed Dog realized it had knocked out the little friend it had been chatting with, it panicked and ran over to Qiao Sang, calling out to her.

“It’s okay, you didn’t do it on purpose. Even if you had realized midway through your charge that it was standing in front, you wouldn’t have been able to stop the Blazing Charge in such a short distance,” Qiao Sang comforted, stroking the Fire-Toothed Dog’s head. “I have brought medication with me, so I can treat it right away.”

Without having contracted a Pet Beast with healing skills, Qiao Sang had bought some medication that could treat injuries for emergency use.

After bonding with Xiao Xunbao, she had picked up some of these medications at the Pet Beast Base as a precaution.

Even if she wasn’t venturing into a Secret Realm, it was always good to carry some, just in case.

And sure enough, they came in handy so soon.

“Xiao Xunbao, the medicine,” Qiao Sang turned and said to Xiao Xunbao.

Now that the Fire-Toothed Dog had its name, Qiao Sang didn’t want to play favorites, but at the same time, she couldn’t think of any nice names on the spot, so she simply dropped the word ‘Ghost’ and called it Xiao Xunbao.

She had been using the name for two days, and Xiao Xunbao seemed to like it quite a bit.

At that moment, Xiao Xunbao was floating by the larger magnetic brute mouse, intending to use its Dream-Eating recovery skill to restore some of the energy it had spent.

Feeling caught in the act of doing something wrong because of Qiao Sang’s call, Xiao Xunbao stiffened.

“Xun~”

Xiao Xunbao promptly gave up on what it had intended to do.

It floated back to Qiao Sang and took out a bottle of medical spray from the hoop it wore.
