Beast Taming: Slaughter Atlas

Chapter 211: Surviving the Ordeal

The Corpse Control Insect was shocked by the sudden movement of Nirvana, momentarily halting its control over the Holy Light Beetle.

Nirvana naturally wouldn't miss such a good opportunity, but it chose not to attack the head of the Holy Light Beetle, knowing that its attack couldn't breach the opponent's defense.

Nirvana tilted its head slightly towards the insect legs of the Holy Light Beetle and charged.

Its Ao Clamp clamped tightly onto the joint of the middle section of the Holy Light Beetle's forelegs, then applied all its strength to crush down.

This spot was the weak point of the Holy Light Beetle, yet even so, Nirvana couldn't shear it off.

The friction between the Ao Clamp and the joint's insect armor produced a series of "crack, crack, crack" sounds.

At this moment, the Corpse Control Insect finally snapped back to reality and immediately controlled the Holy Light Beetle to counterattack.

The Holy Light Beetle raised its forelegs and swung them wildly, trying to shake off Nirvana in this manner.

But Nirvana wouldn't let go; the friction sounds between the Ao Clamp and the joint's insect armor grew louder.

The frustrated Corpse Control Insect began to slam Nirvana towards the ground with its forelegs.

"Boom, boom, boom"

The enormous crashing sound echoed, leaving Nirvana dazed and confused.

Yet a belief inside supported it—no matter what, it wouldn't let go unless it was dead.

After what seemed like endless slamming, a "snap" was heard, and the insect armor at the Holy Light Beetle's joint finally shattered.

Nirvana's Ao Clamp dug straight into the Holy Light Beetle's flesh, clipping off its huge foreleg, and it was flung away by a giant force.

Nirvana's situation could only be described as tragic; over ninety percent of its insect armor was shattered, even the armor on its head was full of cracks, and the extremely tough Ao Clamp had broken, its serrated spikes worn smooth.

Nirvana dared not hesitate for a moment and immediately used Limb Regeneration.

The Corpse Control Insect let out a furious roar, though it felt no pain, Nirvana's actions completely enraged it.

It quickly controlled the Holy Light Beetle to charge at Nirvana, but the broken foreleg slowed the beetle's speed considerably.

In its fury, the Corpse Control Insect controlled the beetle to fly, planning to solve this insignificant ant immediately.

Nirvana had already completed Limb Regeneration, the insect armor fully healed, even the Ao Clamp restored to its original state.

The new armor was tougher, and the Ao Clamp even sharper.

Its aura had reached the Peak of Commander Level, and the surging power made it let out a triumphant shriek.

Nirvana shed its disguise, letting its full aura flow unabashedly.

The Corpse Control Insect was shocked upon seeing this; it couldn't have imagined that the previously weak ant would grow to such a level.

After the shock came endless anger, it was played by an ant.

It roared in rage, sending a strong spiritual wave towards Nirvana while controlling the Holy Light Beetle to launch an attack.

The huge body of the Holy Light Beetle came crushing straight down on Nirvana.

Given its terrifying size, even just falling upon them could hold immense power.

Though Nirvana's strength also reached the Peak of Commander Level, being crushed by the Holy Light Beetle would result in another grave injury.

But the Corpse Control Insect underestimated Nirvana's strong will.

Nirvana couldn't completely immune itself to the Corpse Control Insect's spiritual attack but could easily withstand it.

Seeing the Holy Light Beetle bearing down, Nirvana quickly scuttled sideways to avoid it.

With a loud "boom," the Holy Light Beetle slammed heavily to the ground, raising clouds of dust.

Nirvana peered through the dust to see the Holy Light Beetle lodged into the ground from its excessive force, its insect wings vibrating rapidly trying to escape.

Nirvana seized the opportunity to pounce, its Ao Clamp activating again, directly severing the Holy Light Beetle's wings.

Chu Chen, witnessing the plight of the Holy Light Beetle, showed a smile of happiness and quickly said to Zhang Yuyan, "We can attack with full force now."

Upon hearing this, Zhang Yuyan nodded as if relieved of a burden.

Following the command, Lei Yao and Wind Burst Mad Lion both roared vigorously, their auras surging wildly.

Both beasts unleashed their trump cards without reservation.

Within moments, Lei Yao's aura had reached the Peak of Commander Level, while Wind Burst Mad Lion's aura also reached the Eighth Rank of Commander Level.

The Shadow Golden Mantis also let out a low growl as it released its hidden aura.

The three beasts had been restraining three Holy Light Beetles, aiming to buy time for Nirvana to grow stronger; now, with the timing perfect, there was no need for further disguise.

The three beasts had filled their Anger Value to the brim, enduring spiritual control while dodging attacks from the Holy Light Beetle, a painful ordeal for them.

Now the time for revenge had arrived, and they unleashed their full force.

First, they attacked the insect leg joints, disabling the opponent's mobility, then exerted all their might on attacking the heads.

In mere seconds, all three Corpse Control Insects were slain.

They immediately went to support Nirvana.

Nirvana had already completely broken all three insect legs of the Holy Light Beetle.

The Holy Light Beetle, bereft of flight and mobility, was merely a sitting target.

However, Lei Yao's trio did not dare approach the Holy Light Beetle, due to the spiritual control from the Corpse Control Insect, which they couldn't resist.

Helpless, the trio could only support from afar using Skills.

With assistance from the trio, the Holy Light Beetle's defense soon crumbled.

Nirvana's Ao Clamp stabbed fiercely into the Holy Light Beetle's head, extracting a meter-long Corpse Control Insect as thick as a thumb.

Without hesitating, Nirvana dispatched it swiftly.

At that moment, Hongyang and the others were still struggling to hold on.

"Brother Hong, should we retreat? Perhaps Chu Chen has escaped."

"Right, it's been so long, maybe he fled with the Key."

Hongyang snorted coldly and said, "Shut up! Just a little longer, I trust his character."

The others looked grim hearing this, their Soul Power nearly depleted, and the Guardian Beasts were worse off, their stamina and Star Power almost exhausted; if they continued waiting, they might all perish here.

Right when they were caught in a dilemma, the insect swarm abruptly ceased, as though time had paused.

"What's happening?"

Hongyang snapped back to attention upon hearing this and directed the Guardian Beast to attack the insect swarm.

Finding the swarm immobile, the attacked insect Star Beast fell dead.

"Haha, looks like Chu Chen succeeded," Hongyang laughed with relief.

The others showed joyous expressions at this and collapsed on the ground, loudly expressing their happiness, truly feeling what post-crisis survival meant.
