Beast Taming: Reincarnated With The Ultimate Bond System!

Chapter 89: Chapter : 89 : Fells Like Everything Is Alright!

The little goblin girl peeked out from her mother's chest, eyes wet, though they seemed to have no life in them, staring at the two kneeling hobgoblins.

The little girl hesitated… then, slowly, let go of her mother's dress and crawled forward on her knees. She stopped just in front of Thristle and Vegia. Her tiny hand reached out, trembling, and touched Thristle's and Vegia's hair.

"You're warm..." She finally whispered, testing as if she were real.

Thistle broke down. Tears spilled as she pressed her forehead harder to the dirt. Vegia, too, her shoulders shaking.

The mother, hearing her daughter's voice, broke down in tears, hugging her tightly against her breast.

"I... I don't forgive Chugh. But… maybe I can forgive the ones who chose to kneel with us instead of standing above us."

People in the crowd started murdering.

"My son told me about Hoblins helping our army."

"Yeah... My son told me too."

Luna clinched her fist, trembling in anger, as she couldn't believe she was hearing this after all the drama.

She wanted to shout at them, to tell them they shouldn't just judge.

But before she could, she felt Aiden's hand on her shoulder. She looked at him. He was smiling toward her, a soft, reassuring smile. Gently, he gave Leona to her, and she held her carefully against her chest.

Aiden reached Vegia and Thristle and knelt between them. He placed his hands on their back. Both of them felt his warm touch.

He bowed, " I, Aiden Nightshade, promise that such wicked things will never occur again."

The crowd was silent. Even the harshest faces in the group softened.

The mother nodded silently, "Thank you, Sir Hero."

Slowly, the crowd left. The mother and her daughter started walking away. The group watched in silence. Then the daughter looked back at them, waving her hand in a goodbye gesture. The group waved back with a smile.

"I hope she gets over it soon." Lysandra wished, walking up beside Aiden.

He patted his hand on their back, "Thristle, Vegia... Get up. It's alright now."

Slowly, the two lifted their head, eyes wet, as they turned toward them.

His smile softened as he looked at their tear-streaked face.

His hands reached, pulling them into a sudden hug. Both girls flinched.

"You two don't have to carry all the burden. You have us." Aiden said softly, comforting them, "We'll carry your sins with you."

Both girls peeked at him from his chest. Lysandra, Nyxion, Arisha, and Luna stood beside them, petting their shoulder.

Even Leona, who couldn't make head or tail of it, petted their head, "Thris-Mummy... Vegi-Mummy... Don't cry. I will cry too if you do."

That melted their hearts instantly, as they clung to Aiden harder.

"You heard our daughter." He whispered, smiling.

They nodded against his chest. "Thank you, My King. All of you."

"Me too," Vegia said softly.

All the other nodded with a smile.

Aiden helped them get up.

"So... Why don't we continue our date?" Aiden said, smirking.

Thristle rubbed her eyes, then smiled, instantly returning to her usual self. She then hooked his arm around her. "Yes... Let's go."

Aiden looked toward Vegia, who was looking toward them, "Vegia... Can I have this date with you too?"

Vegia blushed instantly. "H-huh... Why? I told you I was pulled here against my will."

Aiden didn't care. He extended his hand toward her, asking for her hand.

Vegia's hand tried to reach for him, but she was still reluctant.

"Vegi-Chan... Come on. Be true to your feelings for once." Thristle said, teasing her.

Vegia took a deep breath, then took his hand, "T-this doesn't mean I agree to the marriage."

Aiden smirked, "Yeah... Yeah... We'll see about that."

"Baka..." She whispered.

Aiden just smirked wider, suddenly pulling her toward him. She squealed, resting her hand on his chest to stop herself from colliding with him. Her blush was instant, but she didn't say anything.

"Stop blushing so hard," Aiden teased, still holding Vegia.

"I-I'm not blushing!" Vegia snapped, looking away, ears twitching like crazy.

"Then why's your face pink?" Thristle grinned, leaning close.

"Shut up, Princess," Vegia muttered, but she didn't let go of Aiden.

Luna walked up beside them, adjusting Leona in her arms. The little one stretched her tiny arms toward Aiden.

"Daddy~ hug me too!" She demanded.

"Again?" Aiden chuckled, leaning down and kissing her forehead. "You're spoiled, you know that?"

Leona giggled and clung to his neck when he picked her up.

Luna suddenly wrapped herself around his other arm, pressing herself close, tail wagging. "Master, don't forget about me. I've been patient all day."

"Patient?" Lysandra raised a brow, smirking. "You hog him every night."

"That's different!" Luna puffed her cheeks. "Nights are for wives. Dates are for romance!"

"Don't start fighting again," Aiden sighed, shifting Leona on his arms.

"This was supposed to be my date," Arisha said, rubbing her forehead.

Leona poked his cheek. "Fight later, Mummy. Daddy's mine right now."

Everyone froze.

Luna burst into laughter. "See! Even our daughter is greedy like me."

Lysandra turned pink, covering her mouth. "Leona… y-you can't just…"

Thristle clapped her hands dramatically. "She's already declaring war on us. We're doomed."

Vegia muttered, "This family is insane…" but her lips curled into a small smile.

"That's why I love it so much," Nyxion said, kissing Leona's cheek.

Leona giggled, smiling toward them.

"And I am glad to be a part of it," Arisha added, smiling, happy beyond any comprehension.

Thristle walked through the dark corridor of the cellar. The cellar had both goblins and hobgoblins. Goblins who were criminals and hobgoblins who were captured after the war.

As she walked, she heard a familiar voice, "Look... If it isn't our dear princess?"

She looked toward the cell. It was Griselda.

She reached her cell, "You look good..." Thristle teased.

"Yeah... Never been better." Griselda said in her sultry voice.

"You never change, do you?" Thristle said.

"Seems like you know me really well." Griselda said, then added, "So... how is your married life?"

"Good. I never felt so wanted. The days with My King and the other are the most fun I've ever had in my life." She said, her tone was filled with sincerity.

"Ohh..." She said, "Sad... I never got to meet this Beast Tamer."

Thristle smirked, "Ohh.... I knew you had to say that."

Griselda chuckled, "Why wouldn't I? I love strong men. He even defeated Grimp without breaking a sweat."

"I know why you would think he is strong. He defeated the second strongest general of the Chugh Kingdom." Thristle said, proud.

"How is Vegia doing?" Griselda asked.

"Well... Vegi-Chan is still trying to sort out her feelings for My King." Thristle replied.

"Mmm... I should be happy, I guess. She has always been shy of this stuff." Griselda said, leaning against the wall.

"You can just break out of this cell if you want, can't you?" Thristle asked.

"Yes, I can. But I was defeated fair and square. It will just hurt my pride if I try a prison break. I will look pathetic. And anyway, the doors are sealed with spells. It will take too much effort to break it." Griselda shrugged.

"Mmm... I will just be leaving with My King after I get to talk with my stupid older brother and father." She said, smiling.

You're leaving?" Grisleda raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah... We will leave the kingdom. He said he wants to stay, but something is telling him not to stay. A bigger adventure is waiting for him. And I want to be part of his 'big adventure'." Thristle explained.

"Then go on. I don't want to stop you."

Thrsitle nodded, waving her goodbye.

"Tell him that I am sad that I never got to ride him," Griselda called.

"Shut up."

Thristle walked further down the corridor, toward her father and brother's cell.

Finally, she reached their cell. Both were inside the same cell.

She stood in front of the cell, "Yoho... You two look like you're having fun."

"Why are you here?" Kin said, growling low.

"I just wanted to see off my family. You guys still raised me." She said, smiling toward them.

"Get lost. I never had a sister." Kin shouted.

"Kin..." His father said, "Let her speak."

"But father?"

"I said, let her. I, too, never had a daughter. But let's just listen to her for the last time."

"Okay... go on... let's see what you have to say," Kin said, crossing his arms over his chest.

Thristle bowed low. "Father, brother... thank you for everything you've done for me over the years. After Mother passed, you were all I had left. You took care of me. Gave me everything I ever wanted."

She drew in a deep breath. "I suppose we began to drift apart when I learned the truth—what kind of work you two really did. It made me angry. I thought you were monsters. I was ashamed to be your daughter."

Her voice softened. "But now... I don't think I hate you. I hate what you did, and I don't think I'll ever be able to forgive you for it. But even so... you were still my family."

She looked up, eyes steady. "And I guess what I need now—more than anything—is your blessing. To leave that past behind. To start this new chapter with my King."

She stood there, still bowing toward them. She clinched her fist at her sides, knowing that she would never have their blessing.

King Hrothgar sighed, "Well... I can't give my blessing for a girl I never had."

"You heard him. Now leave." Kin said, though his tone had softened a little due to her speech.

Thristle raised her head, looked toward them, and said, "Goodbye then. I guess I never had a family."

She left.

When she got out of the cell, the first thing she saw was-

Aiden.

Leaned against the wall, waiting for her with that same smirk he always wore.

Her face lit up when she saw him.

"Did it go well?"

"I don't know if I think it was well... But I did get my feelings sorted." She replied, coming closer to him.

Aiden turned toward her, wrapping his arms around her waist, pulling her closer.

"Good then."

"I guess."

Their eyes locked, lips inches away from each other. Both leaned toward each other.

Thristle had to get up on his feet and stand on her toes, due to their height difference.

After what felt like an eternity, their lips finally met, drawn by a gravity stronger than words. The kiss was everything they had never said out loud, soft, certain, full of the love they had carried in their hearts. She wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him closer.

"You're all I want." She whispered between kisses.

"Glad to be the one," he murmured back.

And in that moment, she knew that she had a family, a real, loving family that sees her for who she is.

And in his embrace, she was home.
