Chapter 421 - 417: The Sixth Favorite Jie Ta
Chapter 421: Chapter 417: The Sixth Favorite Jie Ta
Gusu City.
Beast Master Association.
President Qin anxiously paced back and forth inside his office, occasionally glancing at the phone on his desk, seemingly waiting for some news.
Buzz, buzz, buzz…
The phone rang, and President Qin rushed over to answer it, bombarding the caller with questions.
“Luo Xiang, have you found Bai Qi yet? How is he doing? What, you just arrived at Eden? Alright, notify me immediately when you have news.”
President Qin hung up the phone in frustration, staring at Bai Yan and Luo Zhu’s numbers in his contact list. After some hesitation, he decided not to call.
Bai Qi had been missing for more than ten days, yet there was still no news of him.
In order to prevent Bai Yan and Luo Zhu from worrying, President Qin had not informed them immediately, but given the current circumstances, he feared he might have no other choice.
“This brat, why can’t he stay put.”
President Qin sighed and dialed Bai Heguang’s number.
“Heguang, still no news on Bai Qi?”
“Unfortunately, no. I’m planning to go to the Elemental World once again.”
Bai Heguang’s calm voice came through the phone. But President Qin could sense a tinge of anxiety.
“I hope the kid’s alright…”
Just as President Qin was about to say something else, the office door was suddenly flung open. His secretary rushed in, holding a phone.
“President, there’s news from Taize Lake. They’ve found Bai Qi!”
“Bai Qi? At Taize Lake?”
President Qin was taken aback. Bai Heguang on the other end of the line promptly hung up.
“Are you sure Bai Qi was really at Taize Lake?”
The secretary nodded, “I’ve confirmed it. The military stationed at Taize Lake found him. Somehow, Bai Qi managed to bypass their security perimeter and appear in the middle of Taize Lake.”
Upon hearing this, President Qin seemed to understand. He sighed in relief, asking, “Where is Bai Qi now?”
“The military has dispatched personnel to bring him back. He should arrive soon.”
As soon as the secretary finished speaking, a figure appeared in the doorway. It was none other than Bai Qi.
“Mr. President, long time no see.”
Bai Qi waved to President Qin, about to say something. But instead of a greeting, he was met with a size forty foot.
“Mr. President, are you trying to murder me!”
Bai Qi quickly dodged, looking at an angry President Qin with an innocent expression, “Mr. President, I barely escaped death, shouldn’t you be a little concerned about my well-being?”
“Concerned? Do you know how much trouble you’ve caused?!”
President Qin glared at Bai Qi unhappily, visually scanning him from head to toe before finally exhaling in relief. “Well, as long you’re back. I’ll inform everyone that you’re safe, and you can go rest.”
“You go missing for over ten days and cause such a commotion.”
“Over ten days?”
Bai Qi was taken aback, “But I was in the Fire Elemental World for only two or three days at most?”
“It must be due to the difference in the flow of time. After all, who knows what’s different between the Elemental World and the main world.”
President Qin paused, glancing at the six rune marks on the back of Bai Qi’s hand. “You’re now at the sixth rank, so you’ll start encountering these phenomena soon.”
“Alright.”
Bai Qi shrugged, “By the way, Mr. President, I suspect there might be an entrance to the Elemental World under Taize Lake. It would be best if you could send someone to investigate.”
“Entrance to the Elemental World? That would explain why you suddenly popped up here.”
President Qin nodded, “I’ll immediately arrange for someone to research it. For now, you should go rest.”
“Alright then.”
Upon hearing President Qin’s words, Bai Qi nodded and made his exit without uttering another word.
After his ordeal in the Fire Elemental World, not only were his pets exhausted, but he was also worn out. He needed to rest and recuperate for a while.
Besides, he needed to thoroughly examine his sixth pet.
…
Since all of his pets were resting, Bai Qi hitched a ride on a military vehicle back to his new home in the suburbs.
Since Schuck had taken the initiative to buy this mansion, Bai Qi had not visited it yet.
Unlike the traditional style of Bai Qiucha’s house, Bai Qi’s mansion was thoroughly modern. From the technologically advanced entrance gate to the robotic butler guiding the way, everything represented the cutting edge of the Federation’s smart home technology.
“Typical of Schuck. Well, it is more convenient and comfortable to have modern facilities.”
Bai Qi, guided by the robotic butler, arrived at the villa area. It had been refurbished as well, with all of the surrounding buildings converted into research labs, save for the largest one in the middle. Mechanical arms were continuously transporting materials from a nearby storeroom into the labs.
“It seems that my parents have no idea that I’ve been missing for over ten days.”
Bai Qi sighed helplessly. It was fortunate he was an otherworldly traveler with good self-care skills. If it had been a native of this world with such research-obsessed parents, the outcome might have been tragic.
With these thoughts in mind, Bai Qi decided not to disturb Bai Yan and Luo Zhu. He headed up to his room, tidied up, then entered the Ice Field Mystery.
In order to prevent the ice pet, Snow Doll, from being terrified of a new environment, Bai Qi had placed it in the Ice Field Mystery right after escaping. The little creature seemed to be enjoying the environment immensely, lying contentedly on the ice, asleep.
“So, how do you like the environment here?”
Bai Qi walked over to Snow Doll, crouching down to gently pinch its chubby face. The sudden movement startled Snow Doll awake. It quickly spewed out a blast of frosty breath.
In an instant, Bai Qi’s hand was encased in a layer of frost.
Well done, trying to murder its Beast Master right after contract completion.
Bai Qi grimaced, summoning the herb worm to his side to remove the frost from his body. Snow Doll seemed to realize it had done something wrong, and tears welled up in its eyes.
“It’s fine, I’m alright. Don’t be scared.”
Seeing this, Bai Qi picked up Snow Doll, gently patting its head. This calmed down Snow Doll.
Satisfied, Bai Qi broke into a smile. He continued to soothe Snow Doll while checking on its condition.

…
Two Transcendent Level skills, and two Super skills.
The list of Snow Doll’s skills was worthy of a mythical creature’s and was even more impressive than that of the mythical Cordyceps.
The last Hyper skill, Flame Soul, confused Bai Qi.
“An ice creature possesses a fire attribute skill, a Transcendent one at that! Isn’t this the reason why the Snow Doll can survive in the Fire Element World?”
Bai Qi rubbed his chin, held the Snow Doll in front of him, and asked, “Can you tell me how you ended up in the Fire Element World? Did you accidentally drift there from the Water Element World?”
Hoo-hoo?
(Fire Element World? I don’t know. I was already there when I became conscious.)
The Snow Doll shook its head, obviously ignorant of its own origin.
“A Snow Doll born in the Fire Element World? It sounds like the beginning of a soap opera~”
Bai Qi clicked his tongue, and a whole set of Snow Doll’s life story spontaneously occurred to him.
“By the way, since you’ve always lived there, haven’t you ever opened the Element Gate?”
Looking at the confused Snow Doll, Bai Qi suddenly remembered the scene when the Snow Doll was rejected by the Element Gate, so he asked immediately.
Hoo-hoo.
(I usually sleep and have never tried to open the gate. I don’t know why.)
Well, I haven’t discovered anything new, so I guess there’s no hope of finding out about this little guy’s origin.
But it doesn’t matter, if it turned out to be a legendary or even mythical creature, he would have to worry about how to handle the relationship.
Contracting without the consent of the parents would probably offend people. Now that the Snow Doll’s origin was unknown, it would be much easier to handle.
“Let’s forget the past. Now that you are my pet, I should give you a name first.”
Bai Qi pinched the Snow Doll’s cheek and said, “Following the order, your name will be Jie Ta.”
Hoo-hoo?
(Name? What’s that?)
The Snow Doll tilted its head, clearly not understanding the meaning of the name.
“Boy, you really don’t know anything, do you~”
Seeing the Snow Doll’s puzzled look, Bai Qi couldn’t help but sigh, thought for a while, and decided to summon Husky.
“This little one is a bit basic, Schuck, you’ll have to tutor him on life basics for the next few days. At least let him know what a name is used for.”
Schuck was stunned, obviously confused by Bai Qi’s order.
Since when did he have to take on childcare tasks…
Woof woof!
(Human, you brought it out!)
Unlike Schuck’s confusion, Beta was obviously very excited about the Snow Doll’s arrival and instinctively bit down on the Snow Doll’s head.
Afu afu
(So cool~)
“Damn it, stupid dog, it’s not a snow cone, let go of it now!”
Seeing the Snow Doll scared by Beta and about to cry, Bai Qi rushed to stop it, but it was too late. The Snow Doll’s crying was already quite loud.
Subsequently, the world was enveloped in ice.
Within a hundred meters around the Snow Doll, everything was frozen solid.
