Chapter 230: Vermilion
He could feel the terror of this image. Angelica's image was special. Like all images it naturally had the will suppression ability.
However it special ability had more strict conditions. The image was a judge, it was imprinted with strict moral values.
The only way for it to work was for one to break said values, like loyalty, murder, rape, theft and all that is considered unjust,to accumulate negative karma.
After consulting the Librarian she learnt her image fell under the law of karma, a very special law used by the Angels of the Celestial Realm and the Demons of Hell to judge the dead.
Sbonga immediately summoned his own image, as rank 4 experts neither of them could maintain their images for long.
His image was a skeleton, an aura of death reeked off of it. The moment it appeared he started laughing out loud.
" See that captain, this is true power, a God of DEATH ITSELF." Angelica's expression did not change.
Sbonga's army of the dead grew stronger with the appearance of his image, much stronger.
This forced the other two to activate their own images. Fern's image was a nine tailed fox while Lucy's was a twisted teddy bear like something from a horror movie.
Her original image was one of a pretty teddy bear symbolising her innocence, she used to be a sweet person until she lost her last remaining family member which broke her mind.
Now the only thing fueling her was rage, sorrows and the desire to bring the most painful experience to her enemies. She appeared fine outside but she was suffering inside to the paint of madness.
The teddy bear roared a silent roar and she started laughing like a crazy person, each of her arrows became more effective against the undead easily piercing through their hardened skins.
As for Fern, her image allowed her to charm even the dead, they turned against each other ripping their allies apart.
Had Sbonga been focusing on them, none of this would've happened since he was stronger than them.
However he was occupied with a more terrifying foe. Angelica's angel image moved, the scale held his aura on one side and hers on another.
Then it tilted on his side, his sins were greater than hers, Sbonga had been judged as guilty. The gavel banged the air and the sound of a hammer resounded for tens of kilometres.
Immediately his entire army was crushed to the ground by a tremendous pressure, he tried to move as well but could barely raise his knees.
He gritted his teeth and tried to urge his image to resist but the image crumbled and disappeared.
This was the terror of her image, it judged one by their karma, the higher ones negative karma the more effective it will be.
However it wasn't so simple, it was a double edged sword, it judged the enemies karma against hers, if she had more negative karma than them then it would backfire and suppress her instead.
Which was impossible in this case as Sbonga had murdered and desecrated the corpses of so many without even remorse.
His negative karma was overwhelming. As he was suppressed and unable to even move his essence she took her a step towards him.
The image strengthened her instead, to be more specific it increased the effect of each of her actions.
The world bent around her with every step, she rode it like a wave covering much larger distances towards him.
Gravity loosened around her making her movements easier and lighter. She stabbed her spear at a rank 4 undead orc.
It pierced through like hot knife through butter without any resistance at all. Her strength had not increased nor had it durability became less.
She never truly understood how images worked, she knew they changed effect without changing cause which was something that falls under the law of casualty.
But it was incomprehensible to her for everybody with an image to touch upon a great law like causality.
Thinking about it was pointless, she was too weak to know the secret of the heavens, not even the Librarian, the keeper of knowledge does.
She continued walking towards Sbonga who was so terrified he pissed himself. " Captain, captain please, this is me, remember the old days, please forgive me for old time sakes."
He started begging, tears almost falling down his eyes. Angelica didn't reply, she continued walking towards him with steady steps.
Each step sounding like a hammer in his heart, the fear he felt at that moment almost rivalled the one he felt when he met his lord.
Angelica reached him, before he could say anything she pierced his head with her spear. A bloody hole appeared through his skull.
She pulled her spear and watched his body fall to the side then she turned around. She was about to walk off when she felt a heartbeat behind her.
She turned and saw him still alive, the wound on his head was gone, there was not even a trickle of blood.
She frowned and stabbed his heart, he appeared to be dead and fell like a puppet with broken strings.
She didn't walk off this time and waited and as she had expected, his wound healed and he came back.
" How are you doing this? Did you turn yourself into an undead?" Sbonga smiled mockingly at her.
" Do you see now captain, it doesn't matter how many times you try, you will never be able to kill me, it's pointless."
He grinned at her but deep down he was screaming with fear, the truth was, he was bluffing. His vessel allowed him to create undead called life seeds.
He could split a fragment of his soul into them and if he takes damage that would kill him, it's transferred into them, they had no combat ability and only served that purpose.
However as a rank 4 he can only create five of these. She had already destroyed two, he could only take three more attacks, the fourth would definitely kill him.
He had to make her see how pointless her actions were so she would give up. However she smiled at him instead.
" That's great." She crouched to his eye level. " Now, I get to kill you as many times as I want." It was then that he felt fear.
With no other options he turned to the one above him. " MY LORD, PLEASE SAVE ME."
Angelica was confused then she heard a familiar voice above her. " Now now, I think you've tortured my useless slave a bit too much no?"
She raised her head and saw the man she hated most. Vermilion smiled at her then pointed his finger.
Fire converged Infront of his finger faster than she can react, before he attacked everybody felt a terrifying sharp aura followed by a roar that shook the heavens.
Angelica smiled and Fern jumped happily.
