NOVEL NEXT Chapter 103: Nuclear Reactor
The bombardier beetle was merely a rank 1 demonic beast, he only needed to use his telekinesis to bring it to him.
He did not even have to stand up to kill a rank 1 beast now. He remembered the time he used to struggle against them. ' Oh how time flies.'
He also killed the jackal because he was a bit hungry. He devoured the beetle in one bite. It was not even big enough to fill the gap between his teeth.
Then the system notifications came. ( You've obtained 0, 00000000001) Ved almost jumped up, those were way too many zeroes, way too many.
The difference than when he was a rank 3 was way too high. Then he sighed, he should've expected it, both his rank and grade were much higher than the beetle.
The system notification he was looking for anyways was not that one but the next one. ( Obtainable trait detected: Chemical bomb reaction, does host wish to absorb trait?) ' Yes' Ved issued the command.
( Trait assimilation initiated, Notice- Trait is evolving... Trait evolution successful. New trait,- Nuclear Reactor) Ved couldn't hold himself back and stood up in excitement.
He didn't expect such a huge boon, a nuclear reactor, he had no idea how powerful it will be but the name alone gave him hope.
Then the pain came. He felt something move towards the spikes running along his spine. The spikes were filled with lightning but when this new energy came the lightning was pushed out.
The lightning moved and gathered on his wings instead, hidden in every feather and bone.
The spikes on the other hand started glowing blue then expanded, they became a bit longer and larger, they were nolonger as sharp as before but much harder.
He could feel a powerful form of energy burning inside each of them. He couldn't control his excitement and pointed a claw at the ocean.
One of the spikes lit up with a gentle blue glow, a trickle of nuclear energy moved from it and through his body then came out of his claw.
He used his will to hold and shape it into a ball infront of the claw. It was a tiny ball the size of a marble, then he shot it out to the sea.
The tiny nuclear bomb cut through the air like a bullet, when it reached the 10 kilometres mark it exploded.
Ved was deeply surprised by the power behind it, he had expected it to be powerful but this was too much, it was way too powerful.
Just that tiny ball caused an explosion powerful enough to effect over 200 metres around it, even from this distance he could still see the air boiling from the heat.
He wondered how powerful it would be if he used all of it at once, probably powerful enough to destroy an entire city atleast but he didn't dare to test it right now.
However a certain thought suddenly appeared to him, what if he used his nuclear energy and lightning at the same time but he got an ominous feeling the moment he had that idea.
The power behind an attack like that was probably something even he couldn't handle.

The amount of evolution points he got from the beetle and the jackal were so small they didn't even show on the status screen which was a bit depressing even though he expected it.
Now all that was left was testing his other trait, as well as how strong his body truly was. For that he would need to go far away from this island.
He doesn't want to end up killing everything that lived here on accident. So he flapped his giant wings, wind picked up around him and he shot to the sky.
He stopped 40 kilometres up, just right below the first layer of the clouds, yes, there was another layer above the first which was probably around the 100 kilometres mark.
He turned his attention to the south, first order of business was testing his speed. He took a deep breath and flapped his wings.
The air exploded and sonic booms blasted a hole on the clouds above. His body shot out like a streak of black light leaving a trail of wind and sound behind him.
The world below zipped past him as the wind brushed against his scales. Before long he was already hundreds of kilometres away from the island.
He continued flying for another hundred kilometres then stopped and floated kilometres above the ocean. ' Alright, which trait to test first?'
He thought about it then decided it was going to be the lightning. His lightning coursed through his body and gathered in his mouth, then he opened his mouth wide.
A ball of blue lightning appeared inside. He fired the lightning, it turned into a bolt that cut through the air like a spear heading straight for the sea below.
Deafening sonic booms exploded around him, temperatures rose and the air burnt. The lightning bolt was huge, with a diameter as wide as 4 metres, it reached the ocean in a moment and exploded.
Electric arcs flew in all directions like snakes. Temperatures rose so high the sea evaporated and mist covered the ocean in a 15 kilometres radius.
The lightning was much more powerful than before and faster as well but it was still was not as fast as natural lightning which was a bummer.
Then he took a deep breath, it was time to test his new type of lightning. It was much less than the blue lightning to the point he doubted his body could produce enough for two attacks.
He gathered the lightning in his mouth then he heard the vessel spirit's surprised and terrified voice. " Tri.tri.. tribulation lightning, you absorbed the first order extinguishing tribulation lightning?! Are you crazy? Do you know how dangerous that is?"
' By Hela's dirty bra, you are loud, I'm fine aren't I?' The Vessel Spirit shook it head. " You are very reckless, even daring to curse the Goddess of Death, do you not fear her wraths."
Ved scoffed. ' I didn't take you for the religious type, why I would fear the wrath of Gods when they're not even real' Ved mocked.
" What rubbish are you spouting? Gods are very much real." ' Huh?'
