Chapter 142: The Rock Lizard Giant Beast and Qing Lin's Potential

The nearly one-meter-long purple wings unfurled behind Mo Yu, and he turned his head to gesture at Qing Lin to come over. Seeing Mo Yu's signal, Qing Lin quickly ran up to him, her unusual bright green eyes staring in fascination at Mo Yu and the glowing purple wings behind him.

Mo Yu smiled, then leaped into the dark cave. As they descended, his purple wings gently flapped, ensuring they wouldn't fall straight down.

In the dark tunnel, Mo Yu held Qing Lin close as they descended deeper. Qing Lin was holding a moonstone, its soft light illuminating the path ahead, allowing Mo Yu to see any obstacles in their way.

As they flew downward, Mo Yu's eyes scanned the walls of the tunnel. He noticed that the passage was remarkably smooth, with no rocks protruding from the walls. It looked as if the tunnel had been carved out by a massive energy blast.

After flying downward for about two or three minutes, Mo Yu finally saw the bottom of the tunnel. With a slight bend of his legs, he retracted his wings, landing softly on the ground with a gentle thud.

Once on the ground, Mo Yu released Qing Lin from his embrace, taking her hand as they walked forward. Ahead, a pitch-black tunnel came into view.

Seeing this, Mo Yu's expression became serious. He took a deep breath and led Qing Lin into the dark passage.

"Master, that strange feeling seems to be coming from nearby," Qing Lin whispered after they had walked for a few minutes.

Hearing this, Mo Yu frowned. He was almost certain that this was the hiding place of the Myriad Beast Flame, but why was Qing Lin sensing something familiar? Could it really be the Black Lizard Demon Serpent King?

If it was indeed the Black Lizard Demon Serpent King, should he continue to venture forward, risking danger? Or should he play it safe and retreat?

"Master, wait… There's something under the ground!" Qing Lin suddenly cried out, her green eyes fixed on the cracked, dry ground ahead.

"Hmm?" Mo Yu paused, his gaze quickly scanning the ground, but he saw nothing unusual apart from some rocks.

"Qing Lin, what did you sense?" Mo Yu asked seriously.

"There's something down there… I can sense a faint aura… It's very strong," Qing Lin whispered, her green eyes glowing faintly as if she could see through the earth to whatever lay hidden below.

"A living creature?" Mo Yu's expression turned serious as he tightened his grip on Qing Lin's hand, his eyes scanning the ground warily.

"It seems to be a magical beast, and its strength is similar to Zi Huo's," Qing Lin said softly, gesturing with her small hands. Having lived in Stone Desert City, she had only seen Dou Shi (Battle Master) level experts, so she could only estimate the strength of what she sensed based on her experience with Mo Yu's fourth-tier magical beast, Zi Huo.

"A fourth-tier magical beast…" Mo Yu muttered, speculating, "Could it be one of the lizard tribe's beasts?"

With this in mind, Mo Yu continued forward, cloaking his body in a protective layer of thunderous battle energy, his soul perception extending outward to scan the surroundings cautiously.

The temperature in the tunnel was rising to unbearable levels, causing the ground to crack and making it difficult to walk. Mo Yu picked up Qing Lin, and his purple wings unfurled as he flew forward.

Flying was much faster than walking, but the intense heat in the air made it difficult to breathe, forcing Mo Yu to wrap them both in a protective cloak of battle energy.

Just as they were about to exit the tunnel, Mo Yu suddenly sensed danger through his soul perception. At the same time, Qing Lin's anxious voice rang out, "Master, it's coming from below! Something is coming out!"

Hearing her urgent warning, Mo Yu's expression hardened. Without hesitation, he changed direction, his wings beating rapidly as he shot towards the tunnel entrance.

The moment Mo Yu moved, a loud rumble erupted from the cracked ground below. Scorching soil was violently ejected into the air, and from the chaos emerged a massive lizard, its shrill screech echoing as it shot towards Mo Yu with lightning speed.

Even with the aid of his wings, Mo Yu's speed was matched by the enormous lizard. In an instant, the creature's massive body moved with incredible swiftness, closing in on Mo Yu. Its gaping maw opened wide, and a forked, blood-red tongue shot out like a spear.

"Master, watch out! It's right behind you!" Qing Lin screamed, her small face filled with fear as the gigantic creature closed in on them.

As Mo Yu was speeding through the air, Qing Lin's scream and the sense of danger from behind made him react quickly. He stomped his foot hard on a massive stone pillar that hung vertically from above and shouted, "Instant Flash!"

As soon as the words left his mouth, Mo Yu's figure mysteriously vanished from the giant lizard's view and reappeared on the ground a short distance away.

Having narrowly dodged the lethal attack from the massive lizard and putting some distance between them, Mo Yu's expression grew much darker. He glanced back at the enormous creature chasing him, frowning deeply.

The massive lizard that had suddenly emerged from the ground resembled a cross between a lizard and a serpent. Its body was long, likely four or five meters in length, and entirely black, making it look like a snake with claws—a terrifying sight. Its body was covered in black scales the size of a palm.

"A Rock Snake Lizard Beast?" Mo Yu thought as he stared at the distinctive creature, a powerful fourth-tier magical beast. This type of lizard was one of the stronger species in the lizard tribe, known for its impressive strength. It was one of the elite members of the tribe, alongside the six-tier Black Lizard Demon Serpent King.

Mo Yu had never expected to encounter such a creature here.

Realizing the situation, Mo Yu didn't hesitate. His Beast Ring flashed slightly, and a powerful roar echoed through the passage.

"Zi Huo, come out!"

Even with his soul power, Mo Yu knew he couldn't take on a fourth-tier magical beast alone. He needed another beast to fight beast.

As Mo Yu's voice faded, Zi Huo's massive form appeared in the dark passage, the purple flames on its wings lighting up the surroundings.

"Zi Huo, attack it!" Mo Yu commanded, pointing at the Rock Snake Lizard Beast.

"Roar!"

Zi Huo roared in response, its beastly eyes locking onto the Rock Snake Lizard Beast as the purple flames on its body flared up.

Seeing the sudden appearance of Zi Huo, the Rock Snake Lizard Beast's triangular eyes, like those of a serpent, filled with cold killing intent. Its huge tail swung fiercely, smashing towards Zi Huo with tremendous force.

Despite its large size, Zi Huo moved swiftly, its purple wings beating just in time to dodge the Rock Snake Lizard Beast's attack.

"Boom!"

The massive tail slammed into the mountain wall, causing a thunderous crash. Cracks spread across the wall like a spider web, extending more than ten meters before slowly stopping.

Seeing the Rock Snake Lizard Beast's brutal strike, Zi Huo, not one to back down, flapped its wings rapidly. In an instant, it was above the beast's head.

The spiral horn on Zi Huo's head emitted a fierce whistling sound, and the purple flames swirling around it formed a huge, fiery arc as it slashed through the air—an impressive sight.

As the two massive fourth-tier magical beasts clashed fiercely, the surrounding walls crumbled, and the ground was littered with deep craters.

Dodging the falling rocks caused by the battle, Mo Yu frowned as he watched the fight. Even though Zi Huo had the upper hand, the battle was far from one-sided. If it continued like this, the entire passage might collapse.

Holding Qing Lin's hand tightly, Mo Yu suddenly noticed the green glow in her eyes. An idea sparked in his mind.

"Qing Lin, can you use your eyes to control that giant lizard?" Mo Yu asked, pointing at the massive lizard.

"Huh? Master, what do you mean? I'm just a servant; I can't do something like that," Qing Lin replied, her face filled with disbelief. She quickly waved her hands dismissively.

Qing Lin had no idea how powerful her Jade Snake Three Flower Pupils really were. Controlling such a massive beast seemed impossible to her. Surely her master was joking, right?

Seeing her hesitation, Mo Yu simply smiled and asked softly, "Qing Lin, do you trust me?"

"Of course, I trust Master. I trust you even more than I trust myself!" Qing Lin responded with determination.

"If I say you can control that giant lizard, then you can. Do you doubt me?" Mo Yu smiled.

Qing Lin was taken aback, her delicate face showing a hint of confusion as she murmured, "Master says I can control that giant lizard?"

For the first time, Qing Lin doubted herself. The thought of controlling a beast stronger than the leaders of Xiao Ding and Xiao Li seemed impossible. After all, she was just a simple girl of mixed blood from the Snake-People Tribe.

But if her master, whom she revered like a god, believed in her, then maybe it was true. Her master would never deceive her!

With that thought, a determined look appeared on Qing Lin's face. Her bright green eyes began to glow like ghostly fires in the dark.

"Ah!"

As she saw Zi Huo being knocked down by the Rock Snake Lizard Beast, Qing Lin couldn't help but cry out in fear. At that moment, the lizard's crimson tongue seemed to enlarge in her vision, and, fueled by her unwavering trust in Mo Yu, she let out a sharp, piercing scream.
