Bastard Homunculus: Reborn in the Corpse Pit

Chapter 236: The Multiverse Tournament(Part 6)

"So fast...," Muttered Jules, as her opponent zipped around her with immense speed, his movements little more than a blur, as he began to generate a tornado around her.

A fiery glow erupted around her body as she raised her right foot and drove it down rapidly, a devastating burst of flames erupting around her as she stomped on the ground, triggering a scorching wave of heat.

Her opponent stumbled across and nearly fell over as the intense wave hit him, knocking him off-balance, his eyes widening in alarm as a roaring blast of flames came shooting towards him.

He zipped out of the way as fast as he could, right as a rapid arrow of flames came shooting towards him, a sharp cry of pain ringing out as he raised his arm up defensively, the attack striking his forearm and burning his skin deeply, charring his flesh before he gritted his teeth and shot towards Jules with a sharp burst of speed.

She began to lower her blade in defense, before gasping in pain as he slammed his fist against her stomach before she could get her blade in the way, sending her hurtling back and skidding across the ground.

A trickle of blood ran down the corner of her mouth as she came to a sliding halt across the dirt, before she quickly scrambled back onto her feet as her opponent shot towards her again, closing in on her in the blink of an eye.

Suddenly, flames erupted around her entire body, wrapping around her right as she winced as her opponent struck her in the same spot again, before hissing as the flames around her burnt his fist.

Her feet skidded back across the ground as she managed to maintain her balance, rubbing her sleeve across the corner of her mouth to wipe away the blood.

"Wow, you're pretty tough, lady. Most people are out cold with one hit when I strike them at full speed, but you're still standing. And man, those flames are seriously hot," Remarked her opponent, as he glanced at his burns.

"Your speed is impressive, but it won't be enough...I will not lose here," Responded Jules, as she pointed her blade at him.

She was sore all over, he'd landed several hits all over her body, while he was covered in burns. While she was struggling to keep up with his speed, her instincts were helping her at least land counterattacks whenever he attacked her, the battle had been progressing more or less evenly.

"Heh, it won't be that easy. This fight isn't going to last much longer, because I'll end it with this next attack!" He declared, as he shot towards her at full speed.

Jules stepped forward as he closed in and drove his fist towards her stomach again, widening her stance as she planted her feet firmly and raised her blade up, before wheezing sharply as his collided against the middle of her stomach with immense force, knocking the wind out of her.

Suddenly, she took her right hand off her blade and swung it down, grabbing her opponent's forearm before he could react, a sharp cry of pain ringing out as she plunged her blade into his right foot, pinning it to the ground as she tightened her grip on his forearm.

"You really are fast...but every time you attack at full speed, you need about a second to recover, you're wide open for an instant. And that's all I need," She uttered as a fiery glow surrounded her.

"Uh-oh...," He muttered as he tried to break free of her grasp, before a blazing eruption of flames exploded around Jules, her opponent's right foot getting sliced open as it dragged across the blade as the force of the blast blew him away, covering him in burns as he got sent hurtling back at a breakneck speed, his back slamming onto a tree with a jarring impact.

Cracks spread out across the trunk of the tree as the impact rattled his bones, before he collapsed onto the ground with a shaky groan as blood streamed out of the back of his head, matting his hair down as Jules approached and kicked him onto his back, before pressing her foot down on his chest and pointing the tip of the blade at his throat.

"Now, tell me where your team's glass ball is, or I'll kill you," She warned him.

She was bluffing, she was only intending to knock him out if he refused to answer, but as far as she was concerned, he didn't need to know that.

"Heh, go ahead...it won't matter once we use that time travel device. Even if I have to die here, that's fine by me, so long as we win this thing and get the device," He replied with a defiant smile, before Jules swiftly struck the top of his head with the flat of her blade, knocking him out.

Meanwhile...

"D-Damn it, how the hell is he so powerful?!"

Raven shot forward and grabbed one of his opponents by the neck, a choked gasp echoing out before Raven snapped his jaws open and fired out a dense, tranquilizing poison mist, putting the figure to sleep before tossing him away.

He'd come across one of the other teams, they'd all stuck together to protect their glass ball as a group, but none of them were strong enough to fight him off, and in what had barely been twenty seconds, he'd already knocked out two of them.

He turned his gaze across as a fireball came shooting towards him, batting it away with the back of his hand before zipping forward with immense speed, zeroing in on the glass ball.

The one who was holding onto it flinched in fear as Raven closed in on him in the blink of an eye, meeting his gaze before Raven drove his claws out and struck the glass ball, shattering it to pieces as the team it belonged to stared helplessly, right before they all vanished from sight, removed from the playing field.

"I wonder if any of the other teams have been eliminated yet too? I don't sense anyone else in this vicinity, I should move on and try to find another team," Raven muttered to himself, before spreading out his wings and flying up into the air...
