After considerable deliberation, I have instituted a refined approach; one that shall, I believe, satisfy both the analytically inclined and those of a more . . . narrative temperament. Henceforth, System descriptions shall be rendered in a manner more succinct, more elegant. The extraneous technicalities, while fascinating, have been cordially relegated to the confines of the Spoiler tag, where they may be perused at one's leisure, should the reader so desire a deeper parsing of spell matrices, formulae, or algorithmic minutiae.
In their place, you shall find a greater abundance of commentary from young Kestovar himself. His internal monologue will henceforth carry the burden—and the pleasure—of translating arcane prompts into something both intelligible and emotionally textured. Thus, the essential shall remain visible; the optional, mercifully tucked away. This revision, I trust, shall render the experience markedly more navigable for the majority, while preserving the quantitative details so cherished by those with a fondness for such numerical indulgences.
Should any aspect of this refinement prove overwhelming, disorienting, or otherwise an impediment to comprehension, you are not only welcome, but encouraged, to make such concerns known. I shall, of course, see to it personally that adjustments are made.

Translation: I think I've come up with a great compromise for those who love crunchy numbers as well as those who don't care for it. I've simplified and shortened some System descriptions, but more importantly, I've put all sections of System prompts that are not absolutely needed for story comprehension in the Spoiler tag. I've added more of Fabrisse's reaction and comments to the System prompts in return. These internal comments should be enough to summarize the information given to him in the Spoilers. You just need to remember that the Spoilers are optional for when you really want to know what exactly a spell does and the detailed computations that have led to whatever has happened. This should streamline the experience for many while not removing the numbers that are otherwise meaningful for others. If while reading, something either overwhelms or confuses you, feel free to point it out and I can make adjustments if needed. |
