Barefaced

"What do you mean?" You ask looking at Kazutora. His sand brown eyes glisten as the light shines on them. He looks deep into your eyes not answering the question. You look at Baji in confusion.

"What does he mean?" You ask again.

"Didn't you know?" Kazutora says.

"Know what?" You question.

"Baji is joining Valhalla..." Kazutora replies.

"Wait... since when...?" You question.

"Since today." Baji answers. Thats different from what you remember reading. In the manga Baji quits and the next day it was the initiation... but in this reality its at night... 

"Why did you quit?" You ask.

"Don't worry about it." Baji replies.

"What about Mikey?" You question. Kazutora leans in closer to you.

"What about Mikey?" Kazutora says looking deeply at you. You slowly turn your head to look at him. His eyes and facial expression gives you the chills.

"I... uh..." You hesitate to continue talking.

"Why are you so worried about him...?" Kazutora asks. You slowly shake your head scared to answer his question.

"Hey... Kazutora... leave her alone..." Baji comments.

"Why...? You care about him too?" Kazutora asks glaring up at Baji.

"Never said that..." Baji replies. "I don't care about Mikey... I would fuck his bitch right in front of him." Baji says motioning to you and smiling. Your eyes widen when he says that. Kazutora smiles and looks at you. When he turns his head you can hear the jingle from his earring. You look up at Baji who's facial expression became blank again. You can't tell if Baji actually meant what he said or if he's saying that because of Kazutora.

"I'm going to go... I will be there tonight." Baji says walking away. Kazutora sighs and looks back at you.

"Just us then... what do you like to do... Yuki." Kazutora asks caressing your cheek.

"Why did he come if he was just going to leave?" You ask.

"I don't know... Why are you so worried about other guys... are you a slut or something?" He asks.

"What?" You look at him confused.

"Do you like jewelry? I heard girls like those things..." Kazutora asks.

"I don't know..." You reply.

"Come on lets go look at a few things." He replies.

After following Kazutora a bit he takes you into a random store. There's a lot of clothing and jewelry. You don't usually go to places like this because its expensive... besides none of your friends like to go to stores like this.

"Have you ever thought about wearing dresses or cute girl clothes?" Kazutora asks looking through the cute tops in the girls section.

"I do wear dresses... just not... like that..." You reply.

"Why not? I think you'll look cute in a dress..." Kazutora says pulling out a dress. "Here try this on..." He says handing you a dress.

"Uh... it's expensive... I can't"

"Try it on." He says in a stern voice.

"Okay." You reply, grabbing the dress and walking towards the dressing room. Kazutora looks at you with a smile on his face as you close the curtain. 

After you try on the dress you walk out and show him. He smiles and nods. 

"It's cute... You look cute." He says moving your hair to the side. "Why don't you wear your hair up... I think you would look cuter with your hair up." Kazutora comments.

"I don't know." You say awkwardly.

"Do you like the dress?" He asks. You shrug. His smile disappears and your heart drops.

"Yeah... I think it's cute." You say. He smiles and nods. 

"Then it will be my gift to you." He replies.

"Your gift to me? No... no... it's too expensive... don't buy it..." You say shaking your head a lot.

"Who said I was buying it..." He chuckles ripping off the price tag.

"Huh?"

"We are going to steal it..." He adds.

"What?" You look at him confused. He takes off his jacket and wraps it around you.

"Put that on and make sure it covers the dress." He implies. You put your arms in the sleeves, and he zips up the jacket for you. 

Kazutora grabs your clothes from the changing room and then pushes over a glass vase.

"Go towards the door." He says. You nod and slowly walk towards the door. You furrow your eyebrows and clench the jacket wondering why you're letting this happen. A person walks over to Kazutora and he tells them it was an accident. Kazutora motions for you to leave and you do. You stand outside waiting for Kazutora wondering why you're there with him.

"I'm allowing him to drag me around... I can't even walk correctly with this brace on my foot..." You sigh.

"You did good..." Kazutora bubbles, nudging you in the arm.

"You stolen before?" You ask looking at him. Why even ask him that... its obvious he stole before. Kazutora doesn't respond and instead looks you up and down.

"You look good in a Valhalla jacket..." Kazutora sooths.

"Valhalla...? Wait this is a Valhalla jacket...?" You question. Kazutora nods. 

"We have to meet at the hide out now... so let's go..." Kazutora says grabbing your hand and pulling you along with him.

"Already?" You say confused.

Once the two of you arrive you notice the outside of the place looks sketchy. You look up at the sign of the building.

"Ar..cade...?" You whisper to yourself. Kazutora looks at you and then up at the sign and then smiles. 

"Yeah... this place has been closed down for a long time though..." Kazutora states.

"mmm... and the angel... on the window... its a headless angel... Why is it headless...?" You ask.

"It's our image." He replies. "Come..." He motions. You hold onto his arm and follow him inside. As the two of you walk in there are a bunch of people sitting in front of arcade machines and benches. They all look you up and down as you walk in. It feels different being looked at by them then it does with Toman. You hear commotion in the background as Kazutora pulls you towards the group of people. The two of you walk through, stopping a few feet from a guy on top of another guy.

Your eyes widen when you notice who it is. Baji constantly punches Chifuyu in the face. Chifuyu lays unconscious underneath Baji. Your heart sinks when you see the blood leaking from Chifuyu's face and Baji's fist.

"Why..." You quaver. Kazutora looks at you.

"Why what?" He asks.

"Why is Baji punching him still? Why is he punching him in general?" You question.

"It's a test of faith..." He replies.

"Huh?"

"Leaving Toman to enter Valhalla is like switching beliefs... so he needs to show he's worthy..." Kazutora states. "That guy he's beating is his most trusted retainer.." Kazutora continues.

"Chifuyu..." You say to yourself. Kazutora squeezes your hands causing you to look back at him.

"Toman is Valhalla's enemy... if he's betraying the one he follows under then he's going to have to curb stomp his old beliefs..." Kazutora adds.

"..." Baji stops and relaxes his body a bit. Blood is all over his face and hands. You clench onto Kazutora's hand. Kazutora looks back at you and smiles. Baji cocks his head back a bit to look at Hanma. 

"Is this good enough for you... Hanma..." Baji sooths. Baji slowly gets up and pulls his hair out of a ponytail and smiles at Hanma. Everyone around you start chatting and commenting on Baji's action.

"You're a real asshole... He was with you for a long time... right?" A guy muffles from by Hanma. The guy was snacking on a bag of chips. He has no eyebrows and his hair was dyed in a weird way.

"Don't you think you took it too far?" Another guy snickers. He's bald with a tattoo that went down on the left side of his face. Another guy wearing a hoodie and a black mask covering his mouth glares at Baji. Baji sighs and wipes the blood off his face.

"Shit man... I didn't come here for a damn lecture." Baji huffs. Hanma smiles and stands up. You sigh and let go of Kazutora's hand, limping away. 

"Yuki-" Kazutora says looking at you.

"Kazutora!" Hanma yells out.

"Yeah?" He says looking back at Hanma.

"You ready?" He says.

"Yeah!" He says motioning to a Toman member that Kazutora's "friends" brought in. 

You walk off towards a corner where no one was at, leaning against the wall and closing your eyes.

"Who are you?" A voice says from beside you. You slowly open your eyes to see a few guys walking over towards you.

"Someone..." You reply.

"You lost or something?" The guy asks walking closer to you.

"What makes you think I'm lost...?" You question, squinting your eyes at them.

"Cause... why's a little bitch here?" The guy says towering over you. You narrow your eyes and look away. "Aye... I'm talking to you." He says moving your face towards him.

"She's injured... look... see the brace on her foot..." The other guy says.

"Hey... you should leave her alone... I saw her come in with Kazutora..." Another person says.

"Why should I care?" The guy says.

"Because it's called respect." Kazutora says from behind the guy.

"Respect?" You whisper to yourself. Coming from the guy who is anything but respectful... You thought to yourself. The guy moves away from you and Kazutora walks up to you. 

"You shouldn't be walking around without me... who knows what the guy would have done to you if I didn't come..." Kazutora sooths as he caresses your face.

"I would have been fine... I wouldn't let him do anything..." You reply, pushing his hand away.

"You say? I heard rumors about you now that I think about it..." Kazutora states.

"What do you mean?" You question.

"About you beating up gang members... that you fight like Mikey... that you're someone named V..." Kazutora bubbles.

"You heard about that too..." You softly say.

"So it is true..." He sooths.

"Maybe..."

"Even if you had the skill to kick that guys ass... you still have a messed up leg... you won't be able to do much." Kazutora adds.

"Right..." You sigh looking down at the brace on your foot.

"Now thinking about it... you should join Valhalla..." Kazutora sooths leaning towards you, causing you to look up at him.

"Why should I do that?" You ask.

"To be with me more..." He sooths.

"..." You look back down and furrow your eyebrows.

"She's a girl... she shouldn't be apart of a gang..." Baji states. Kazutora turns to look at Baji and then smiles.

"You think? I hear she's strong... I bet she can beat most of the Toman guys..." Kazutora bubbles.

"She couldn't beat me so I doubt she would be able to get far against anyone else..." Baji implies.

"... I didn't want to fight you that time... besides when we fought, we barely did..." You huff.

"You kick like Mikey but have the strength of a little girl..." Baji says in a low tone. He looks at you with relaxed eyes. You squint your eyes at him. Kazutora chuckles and smiles at you.

"Maybe she does suck... but do you think she could beat Mikey...?" Kazutora asks cocking his head a bit. Baji doesn't respond. "I don't think Mikey would hurt you... I think he would allow you to kill him..." Kazutora says to you.

"Kill him?" You question.

"Yeah... Kill him..." Kazutora bubbles.

"Why?" You question.

"That's our plan, Yuki... that's why Valhalla exists... we are here to crush Toman and kill Mikey... right Baji?" Kazutora says looking at Baji. Baji looks at you with a blank expression on his face then he smiles.

"Yeah." He replies.
