Azur Lane: Savior

Chapter 82 – Spending time With the Polar Fleet

"Confirmed enemy kill, those fleets has sunk." Rossiya proudly smiled. "The enemies are weak in front of the might of Northern Parliament!"

"That's one down, more to go..." Pamiat said—she was busy on baiting the Sirens into the bombardment area.

"Tashkent will beat all of you to a pulp!" the purple-haired destroyer declared with a cute yet fierce determination.

One of the enemy ships sank as Tashkent fired her gun. Despite her petite frame and cute voice, her movements and firepower were as formidable as any other shipgirl on the battlefield. Her innocent appearance belied a deadly prowess, making her a force to be reckoned with.

The destroyer's speed was no match for the enemy to aim at, Tashkent wasn't joking when she meant to take down the Sirens with her rigging and turret. Other destroyer, Grozny was also some force of firepower, the rabbit jumped into one of the Siren ship to deal more effective damage on the ship. She used her turret to dig inside the Siren's ship and placed a torpedo inside it. She jumped to another Siren ship as the ship exploded.

"Anyone who invades our home, be it a fox or a siren, must be driven away...!" Grozny stomped her tiny leg on the ship's deck. This wasn't just any ordinary rudder shoe—it was specifically designed for her. When she stomped, a metallic clank echoed, sparking a burst of tiny jet fire using the liquid stored near the shoe's surface. This ingenious mechanism overheated the Siren systems inside the ship as it pierced through, turning her seemingly simple stomp into a powerful defensive weapon.

Minsk proudly laughed, "Hahaha! What do you think, Commander? Pretty good coordination on the fly, right?" She nudged Greynar beside her.

The Commander, speechless as ever, nodded at her word. It was no joke that the main fleet of Northern Parliament pack-a-punch of technique and firepower. It was pretty different from the usual Eagle Union's teamwork coordination when dealing with the enemy.

"I know you like what you see, but it's best not to stare too much, Commander~" A mysterious voice whispered to his ear, the warm breath tickled his ear.

When he turned around, it was Chapayev wering a cheerful expression.

"Chapayev..." He sighed slowly. "Don't surprise me like that."

"Hehe~ Being mesmerized on the battlefield is very dangerous, Comrade Commander. You might want to take a look on your face right now, we need you to be focused here." The blue-haired girl spoke with a soft smile.

"Ah," he snapped back as he fixed his clothing and his hat. "Sorry about that."

"It's okay, since it's your first time looking at our battle tactics. Besides..." She gently placed her hand on his chest. "It's to show that under your command, we are all very strong and reliable as individual." She traced his body up to his chin.

The Commander gulped his own saliva, he was weak against this form of seduction. "A-anyway, are you here to report?" Greynar decided to change the topic before things escalate.

Chapayev chuckled and slowly stepped back from him. "Yes, here's the report on the current status of our positioning, supplies, and damages. Please look it over before everyone gets back," she continued. "Whether you choose to attack the Siren stronghold or rejoin with the Eagle Union forces, we'll likely encounter more enemies. What will be your orders Commander? We'll be sure to follow it through properly."

He pondered for a moment before glancing at the reports. "Chapayev, are our resources and ammunition enough for a fortress raid?"

Chapayev answered. "Yes, we are all come prepared for the fight, so it won't be something to be concerned of."

"Im worried about the fleets on the other side, but..." He looked towards Kirov and called out to her. "Kirov! I need you to lead the search for Eagle Union fleets, we will divide our fleet into two parts."

Rossiya stepped in the conversation. "Then i suggest for Kirov to bring Gangut and Minsk, they could go ahead and scout for them."

"Sounds like a plan," Greynar nodded. "Then how about the communications? This mirror sea is a bit troublesome, and also this ice walls, how can we—"

"No problem, Commander. For us who have been fighting the Sirens in the polar seas for many years, these are still manageable."

As he breathe in relief, he glanced at Kirov who was waiting for his approval. "You can go now, this is my order as the Commander."

Kirov nodded in understanding, went and called out to the two behind her. "Let's go, Gangut, Minsk! We've got some eagles to hunt!"

"Pioneer and search? It's a bit unsatisfying, but never mind. Since it's a task, it should be executed perfectly." Gangut grinned as she followed Kirov. "I wonder if there are more enemies we can fight later."

"Don't ask for the impossible, Gangut. These enemies are already hard enough for us to handle." Minsk shook her head in disapproval. She turned around and bid farewell to them. "See you later Commander, everyone!"

As they left, Greynar asked Rossiya. "So about the mirror sea..."

"This is solely based upon anecdotal evidence, but we believe that the nucleus must be destroyed in order to escape from the influence of the Mirror Sea." Rossiya theorized, "from the information we've been able to analyze, we believe that the nucleus is located within the Siren stronghold."

"Then it might disappear if we capture the stronghold right?"

The battleship nodded. "Yes, i believe if your fleet thought the same, they might have been went to the stronghold directly."

"So Kirov went and get them there?" The Commander asked in concern for his fleet.

"Yes, if they're en route to the stronghold, Kirov knows about our ways of thinking." Rossiya confirmed his question.

"Then as for us, we'll just focus our target to the stronghold." He took a deep breath as he ordered. "Our objective is to destroy that Siren stronghold, all fleets weigh anchor!"

""дa!"" They said in unison.

The unexpected appearance of the Northern Parliament's Polar Fleet tipped the scales of victory back in time. Although there was still no news from others, the intensity of the Siren Fleet's counterattack had obviously decreased. The fleets slowly went close around the border of the iceberg to look for a way to the stronghold, while they were at that, the mass-produced fleets was standing by near the ship that Greynar was on.

"Comrade Commander," Rossiya called to him. "You haven't eaten sinde the raid begin, right?"

He glanced at the girl and nodded. "I guess i haven't have the opportunity to eat."

"A healthy body can breed a healthy mind. Come, have something to eat." Rossiya handed him some food supply she brought over. "Our offerings may not be as sumptuous as the Royal Navy or the Sakura Empire, but it should be enough to fill the stomach."

In front of him was a pile of bread was presented and sweeteners for the food, a giant round loaf of black bread, an entire oil-dripping red sausage, canned potato stew with beef, and—

"Commander, would you like some hot cocoa and bosrcht?" Grozny asked him while she ruffled through the food supply.

He nodded at the destroyer. Having grown accustomed to Volga's cooking, he had developed a liking for the dishes from the Northern Parliament. Her culinary skills had a unique touch that he appreciated more and more with each meal, and he found himself savoring the distinct flavors she brought out with her careful seasoning and creative flair. The hot borscht is placed in an insulated container. As for cocoa, it seems to be a personal preference of the little destroyer in front of him.

"Here you go, Commander." Grozny offered him the hot cocoa drink and the borscht.

"Thanks Grozny." He accepted it with a smile, then proceed to slowly sip the drink and slowly eat the borscht. "It's delicious..."

Volga also ate with him, her greed for food knows no bound but for this time, she refrained to eat everything. The carrier knew that this was the goodwill of Northern Parliament for the Commander and she don't want to ruin the moment.

"Mmmm!! This is tasty. Commander, say ahh~" The auburn-haired girl happily fed him with her hand, her eyes shining with delight.

Greynar happily oblige and opened his mouth. Looking at the interaction, Rossiya smiled warmly at them and also eat the bread. Chapayev joined beside Volga taking the opportunity to get closer to the Commander.

She chuckles. "I see you have quite the appetite~ Commander, I think you'd fit in great here."

"Is that so? Thanks for the compliment then, i'll rethink it once we're done with this stronghold." The Commander smiled at her, then continued eating his food until they're empty.

"There's no sign of enemy yet," Rossiya used her binocular to eye on the area around them. "Take this time to get some rest before the upcoming battle."

"Hehe~ Speaking of the Northern Parliament, this is of course indispensable." Chapayev then presented a familiar bottle in front of the Commander.  "Come on, drink it in big gulps, comrade Commander, I guarantee that the cold will leave you in no time, okay?"

Surprised by the bottle, he looked towards her. "This is..."

Chapayev nodded at him. "Correct, this is Northern Parliament Vodka that you've heard about."

"It's a classic." Rossiya leaned down, grabbed a glass, and poured the vodka, chugging it down. "Nothing beats vodka for staving off the cold. Of course, you're welcome to have something else if you don't drink."

Grozny also took a vodka and chugged it down. "'It's part of the fun of the Northern Parliament,' or something along those lines."

Reluctantly, Greynar poured himself a glass of vodka and drank it, feeling the warmth spread through him almost immediately.

'Compared to only looking at screen, seeing them in person, the Northern Parliament are bunch of eccentric girls.' He leaned against the wall, feeling relaxed. 'Looks like my time here is going to be interesting. And... for some reason...'

He slightly glance at the purple-haired girl in front of him. Tashkent was curiously staring at him like a curious kitten.

'She's staring at me intensely, haha...' he thought, amused.

"Come to think of it, Tashkent, you're a destroyer, right? So why are you called the 'Sky Blue Cruiser'? Isn't that a bit contradictory given your ship's hull?" Greynar spoke his thought loud, asking the girl herself.

"Because Tashkent is born in Sardegna Empire and has that design, that's why Tashkent got that name." The girl answered to him. "But, Tashkent doesn't hate that name, although Tashkent is a Destroyer."

"I see... It must be a bit strange for you, being a ship born in another country but meant to be here," he nodded sympathetically.

"Commander, Tashkent wanted to ask... You must have been to many different places right?"

"Huh..? Yeah, i've been to some places." He replied, feeling somewhat confused by her sudden questioning.

The destroyer girl nodded in confirmation and asked. "Are you by any chance, familiar with Sardegna's cuisine?"

He shook his head with a hint of disappointment. "Sadly, I haven't tried any food from Sardegna."

"I see. Then Tashkent will teach you all about Sardegna later," she said cheerfully, before her expression turned somber. "You see, everyone treats me pretty well, but I don't really have anyone to talk with. So I want to talk about some things I'm knowledgeable about with someone."

Greynar looked at her with empathy. He understood the feeling of being different from others. Perhaps her reserved nature reminded him of someone who was lonely and never had the chance to make friends.

'Perhaps, she could be a good friend with Hammann.' He thought to himself.

"...Alright, next time, we can talk if I'm not busy, okay?" the Commander said with a reassuring smile.

"Mmm..." Tashkent happily nodded. "That's a promise!"
