"It looks like you still haven't let go of your old habits," Captain One-Hand said with mockery and contempt as if he were thinking about something, speaking in a way that made it feel like he was looking down on the woman in front of him.
The middle-aged woman standing before him was one of the biggest pirates in the open waters, known as Mad Lust Lady. Though most of the time, people simply called her Lust-Crazed Maniac.
She was mostly known for this: whenever she targeted a ship, she would attack it and massacre the entire crew, except for the attractive men. She kept those men for herself and turned them into her crew members and subordinates.
If a man was extremely attractive, he could even spend nights with this hated and insane woman. Although it was rare for her to find men who could meet her standards.
But clearly, this white-haired boy who seemed to be meditating had managed to catch her attention.
She and One-Hand were both known as the biggest pirate captains in this region, and the two of them fought from time to time to determine who ruled this area.
Although since fewer ships had been passing through recently, the two of them had encountered each other less and fought less.
But today was their lucky day, they finally found prey.
"Shut up. It is what it is. That one is mine. You can kill the other one, and the fight will decide who gets the ship," Mad Lust Lady said angrily.
Captain One-Hand nodded and then turned his attention toward Kayn.
"Hey kid, looks like today's your unlucky day. Don't worry, I'll give you a simple and direct death." He pulled out his sword again and swung.
The shockwave of the attack rushed toward Kayn, aiming to slice his body in half. But Kayn reacted immediately and pulled out a square item from his inventory and tossed it into the air in front of him.
Right there, the item suddenly turned into a large shield, blocking the attack and saving him from dying.
"Oh? Hahaha, looks like we've got something interesting here," Captain One-Hand laughed when he saw the shield appear out of nowhere.
"Kid, I changed my mind. Hand over everything you have, and maybe I'll let you go."
"You think he's stupid?" Mad Lust Lady looked at the captain with mockery, then fixed her gaze on the boy.
"Give me everything you have, and I'll save you from this bastard. In fact, now that I look at your face, you're not bad. If you want, you can join my crew."
Kayn looked at both of them with an empty expression. He didn't know if they were actually stupid, or something close to it, or if they were just pretending.
Just a few seconds ago, they wanted to kill him, and now they were saying if he handed over everything he owned, they'd let him live? Did they think he was the stupid one?
"You two senile old fools better shut up. I'll give you one chance to leave this place. Soon you'll lose that chance," he said, looking at both of them with sarcasm.
With his words echoing in the air, there was a moment of silence… and then everyone started laughing. Even Mad Lust Lady and Captain One-Hand couldn't control themselves and burst into laughter.
They felt like they had just heard something unbelievably stupid.
"A fool with his hand cut off dared to say that to the captain, hahaha!"
"Is this man stupid? I'm sure he doesn't even realize what he just said, haha!"
"Captain, let us show this bastard his place. We promise we'll teach him some manners," the crew members from both sides laughed and mocked.
"No need. I'll kill an idiot like this myself. It'll be a good lesson for him," Captain One-Hand refused their request.
"Kid, just because you blocked one attack from me doesn't mean you should act cocky. Try blocking this one." He swung his sword again.
Kayn felt an overwhelming sense of danger and wanted to dodge no matter what, but none of his limbs, muscles, or parts of his body responded to the commands from his brain.
His body froze from fear—he couldn't even move a single centimeter.
"Damn it… am I going to die here?" He closed his eyes, ready for the impact. A strike like this wouldn't kill him easily. After all, he still had some trump cards to survive.
But he would definitely lose his combat capability and wouldn't be able to stand against them afterward.
However… the strike he expected never hit him.
"Huh?" He slowly opened his eyes and sighed in relief when he saw what had happened.
"What took you so long?" he said, his eyes fixed on Daniel who was standing in front of him, blocking the attack.
"I was a bit busy. But still, you held on pretty well," Daniel said with a calm tone and a faint smile.
He had seen everything that happened, but because he was at a critical point, he couldn't interrupt his training.
But now his training was finally complete. He raised his palm, lightning flowing through it, and he could control it easily and smoothly.
"Hey kid, you've got guts blocking my attack. You trying to die?" Captain One-Hand was furious that his attack had been stopped twice—especially in front of his subordinates and his rival.
He wanted to tear both of these bastards apart with his own hands to regain the face he had lost.
"These idiots actually dared to attack us?" Daniel completely ignored him.
"Well, seems like it's their unlucky day. They don't know who you are," Kayn laughed.
"You dare ignore me?!" Captain One-Hand couldn't hold it in anymore. His aura burst out completely, rising to its peak.
The entire ship started shaking, and spatial cracks appeared.
"Bastard, he's mine! If you touch him, I'll kill you!" Mad Lust Lady shouted angrily when she saw him aiming for the young man who had caught her interest. Her aura exploded as well.
"You think I care? I'll kill both of them today, and if you try to stop me, I'll kill you too!" Captain One-Hand said and raised his sword.
Mad Lust Lady also raised her sword, twice her size.
But before any attack could happen, a surge of lightning appeared out of nowhere, suppressing all of their auras and covering the entire ship.
All their subordinates and crew members were instantly turned into charred corpses, leaving nothing but ash behind.
"You bark too much. For wasting my time and daring to attack my ship, you both have to die," Daniel's cold voice echoed in their ears.
