Daniel hadn't expected that the moment they entered the void, the priest would immediately start burning his life force to amplify the divine power within his body.
Morvain raised his hand. Holy sigils spun in the air with a faint ringing sound.

But Daniel only laughed. He stepped forward, and as his sword spun in the air, the ground of the void began to shake.
He swung his sword downward, and a rift of darkness opened before him, rushing straight toward Morvain.
Morvain struggled to lift his hand and focused pure light into it.

Morvain was panting, golden steam rising from his body. His eyes flared, and the air around them trembled.

He vanished, reappearing right in front of Morvain, and swung his sword across the priest's side.

Half-kneeling, Morvain still tried to defend himself. With fury, he activated his final spell

With a flick of his hand, the golden light turned black and exploded in the opposite direction.
Morvain was thrown back violently. His body hit the illusory ground of the void, and the golden lines across his skin shattered.
Daniel walked toward him slowly. Morvain's eyes had lost their light, though he still breathed faintly.
Daniel put away his sword and placed his palm on the priest's forehead.
