Chapter 447: The Miracle Generation
After the sparring match ended, the three of them went to the kitchen to rest. Each of them opened the fridge to see if there was anything to eat.
Seeing that only a little bit of last night's dinner was left, they groaned and went to the couch with clear dissatisfaction. Daniel wasn't that hungry anyway — especially since with his level of power he didn't really feel hunger anymore and could just feed on the energy around him.
But that wasn't the case for the two girls. They still needed food to live, and right now they were starving.
As for Daniel, even though he didn't need it, he still preferred eating food and snacks — just to experience and test those amazing flavors rather than living only off energy.
"So what do we do now? Mom went to the gym, and there's no one here to cook for us," Alice grumbled, glaring at her brother.
"Why are you looking at me? I'm hungry too, but I don't feel like cooking anything."
"What kind of big brother are you then? You can't even cook? Are you seriously going to let your little sisters starve?!"
"..."
For a moment Daniel didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Did this girl really dare to blame him?
"Why don't you get up and cook? Oh right… you don't know how!"
Alice's face darkened, and with a bit of embarrassment she lowered her head. Since she was a child, her family had always spoiled her, and she never felt the need to learn how to cook.
"Why don't we just buy something from outside?" Tiana, who had been struggling to hold back her laughter the whole time, glanced at them and suggested.
"Well, that's not a bad idea," Daniel nodded in agreement.
"Then I want fried chicken!" Alice immediately said, and Tiana's eyes sparkled with joy.
"So both of you want fried chicken, huh?" He nodded, pulled out his phone, and placed the order online.
"Go get dressed so we can go pick up the food," he told them.
The two girls nodded and went to their rooms to shower first. Daniel also smiled as he saw them leave, then went to his own room.
Unlike them, he didn't need a shower — with just a flick of his finger he could completely clean himself. Still, it was better to wear something nicer.
After changing his clothes, he went downstairs and waited for them. Thinking it might take a while, he decided to browse the Online community of the Awakened for the first time in a while.
He opened his phone, a light shone from the screen, and a holographic panel appeared in front of him. He entered his account information and logged in.
His account was currently Rank 2, since he had cleared the second floor of the Tower. That gave him slightly more access compared to Rank 1, but the difference wasn't that big — there were still plenty of restrictions.
He glanced at the world headlines in the Awakened community. As expected, the most popular news at the moment was all about The Fallen — the person who had set a terrifying record, to the point where many were even calling him the number one genius in the country.
There were also several forum posts that seemed to be requests from large guilds. Anyone who could provide a clue about Fallen's identity would be paid a huge amount of money.
"I didn't expect to become this famous," he chuckled a little. But after a second thought, it made sense.
After all, aside from the record he set, fighting and defeating a False S Rank and completely destroying a base of Corruption Worshipers wasn't a joke. Not just anyone would dare to do something like that.
Then he looked at other news. There were several reports about a purple-ranked dungeon called Merisia Island and the fact that soon, a raid would be carried out there.
The list of guilds participating in the raid was written out, along with some other explanations. From what he gathered, it seemed like this Merisia Island was somewhat special.
Originally, it was just an ordinary island used by the government to hold criminal Awakened. But one day a dungeon appeared there, abandoned the whole island, and turned it into a dungeon.
Because of its extremely high rank, the government didn't dare to investigate or explore it however they wanted. They had no choice but to rely on guilds.
Still, Daniel's intuition told him this dungeon was more special than it seemed, and that there was definitely something important there.
"Well, either way, it's not something I can do anything about. Even if I reach Rank A, clearing a purple-ranked dungeon is still out of my reach."
This time, even some S Ranks would be sent by the Federation to join the raid — and that was exactly what confused him.
The Federation and the government had strictly banned guilds from sending any S Ranks to this dungeon. Guilds were only allowed to send Rank A members, or at most Half-Step S Ranks.
Sending an S Rank from the guilds was completely forbidden. That only made Daniel more certain that there was something very special about this dungeon.
Either way, it was nothing he could get involved in.
Then he turned his attention to other news. Another thing that caught his eye was about the NAL. This league was scheduled to be held next year.
Right now, the qualifying matches between several teams were being held. And as always, the Miracle Generation was at the top.
A spark of mockery shone in his eyes. The Miracle Generation was the team that even Alice had mentioned before.
They were once the most popular team in the NAL, and their members were always part of the national team sent to world tournaments.
But after a series of major scandals and exposes about them, the public's view had become extremely divided.
Now half the country supported them, and the other half hated them bitterly. Alice was the best example. His sister had once been one of their biggest fans.
But after those scandals, she had become one of their biggest haters.
As for Daniel… his reaction to them was rather neutral.
To be honest, if he were in their place, he might have done exactly the same thing they did…
