Awaiting soft rains(An extra's novel)

Chapter 80: Notice

Well, I suppose it's time to come clean.

I can't continue like this. The fault is mine alone, and I'm fully aware of it.

This story started off on the wrong foot. I didn't have a proper plan, backlog, or long term structure in place. The story itself is something I love deeply, but I know I'll only end up destroying it if I force myself to keep going in my current state.

You've probably noticed it already through my erratic upload schedule. The truth is that I've been losing track of the story. Writing a thousand chapters is simply not feasible at this pace, especially with how little Webnovel pays to justify the workload.

So the novel will be going on hiatus.

For how long, I can't say. It may be six months, a year, or even more.

I understand if you're upset, especially after following the story for this long. But this is necessary. I refuse to ruin something I care about by pushing myself until it breaks.

This is a hiatus, not a drop. The novel will be back. Maybe not soon, but it will return.

I'm not giving up on writing. Far from it. For now, I'll reevaluate myself and work on a lighter, shorter, properly planned project. I'll build a backlog, and I aim to release it around February next year.

I'll return to Awaiting Soft Rains once that project is completed.

If you don't wish to wait, I completely understand. But if you'd like to stay, I'll be running a beta reading program on Discord for the new project, with early access up to chapter 30.

There's simply too much happening in real life right now, and I aimed far too high without preparing enough to balance it all.

Once again, you have my deepest apologies, and my gratitude for coming this far with me. It truly means the world.

Thank you.

Here's the full poem from the start of the story as gratitude

The little chick inside the egg,

Knows only dark, a world so small.

It pecks the shell to stretch its leg,

And thinks the dark is all in all.

The moon itself must hide its face,

To borrow light and shine anew.

It does not fear the empty space,

It knows the sun is passing through.

The world is built on waiting, dear,

For dark to turn and grief to mend.

You cannot see the ending clear,

But you must trust the coming end.

Verily, after sorrow shall come great joy.

And after this pitiless winter shall come a gentle spring.

Be patient my child, you only need wait to receive its soft rains.

All things end my friend, but this one is not done yet. I understand if you're angry, I really do and for that. I am once again deeply sorry.
