Chapter 50: Human?
"How was the tournament my lord?" an elf asked as I entered my castle.
"It was fun, I limited myself quite a bit but it helped to work off the built up stress" I answered.
One of Azula's healers quickly ran up to me as soon as they saw me "Sir we have a problem"
"What kind of problem?" I asked.
"Azula's room is on fire and she is inside" she said hurley.
"What?"
Teleporting I arrived right outside of her room, I could already see the door smoldering as smoke leaked through the bottom of the door.
Seeing Arin I asked with anger creeping into my voice "what is going on, why haven't you put this out"
Quickly kneeling Arin replied explaining "We have tried sir, everytime we do so it starts back up again, Azula seems to not be affected by it"
"Why is the door closed?" I asked, angry at my castle being burned.
"Since she was unaffected we closed it so that the fire would not spread to other parts of the castle as fast"
"She was fine yesterday, what changed?"
"I do not know my lord"
This time the the assigned healer spoke up "It is most likely because she has completely healed from the procedure"
"We will discuss this later. I need to put out this fire" I responded ignoring the explanation.
Slamming the door open I felt the heat wash over me, though the fire didn't harm me it was uncomfortable to experience being enveloped in fire. Looking at the bed I saw a passed out Azula still on the charred bed, it was surprising the bed hadn't collapsed.
"Negate" I yelled, raising my hand.
The fire centered around Azula quickly went out but many things were still on fire. Conjuring some water I passed it around the room putting out the remaining fires.
"Have another room prepared" I yelled back to Arin.
"Yes my lord" he replied, rushing off to do so.
Just as I turned back to look at Azula another bout of flame passed over me and out the door behind me. Letting it clear I saw Azula standing on the bed in a firebending form ready to throw some more fire. Looking at her face I stared into her two different eyes. Her right eye was the normal amber of the fire nation. The other though was a bright sapphire blue with a thin vertical pupil.
"I would ask that you don't burn down my home"
Looking panicked she asked "Where am I"
Stepping forward I slowly explained "After your injury at the tournament I had you brought here to minas tirith of the fiftieth floor where my attendants could heal you. You have been unconscious for a little over a week"
"Where is my father?" she demanded.
"What do you remember of your injury"
"I..I… remember fire"
"Before that"
I could tell that the memories came back to her due to the tears coming from her eyes at her father's betrayal. She fell to her knees on the bed bringing her hand's up to her face trying to feel for any injuries. She stopped when she felt the remaining scar on her neck.
Her voice cracking with emotion she asked "What happened"
"Your injuries were more severe than initially thought, a lot of your body had severe burns, your neck got the worst of it. We healed you but were unable to heal your left eye, it was damaged beyond repair, so I had it replaced"
"Replaced?"
"You are now in possession of a dragon eye, a powerful artifact that no other human currently possesses"
Arin cam back into the room and kneeled "My lord the other room has been prepared"
Turing to him I said "Thank you" then I turned back to Azula "I have taken the liberty of having another room prepared as you have currently burned this one"
She didn't move. Most likely still in shock over the recent events. Walking forward I gently pulled her arms leading her off the bed. Supporting her weight, I led her out the door and down the hallway to the new room. Leading her to the bed I let her sit down.
"Azula," I said quietly. She slowly looked up, still not really processing everything. "It is still morning so you will have the day to yourself. If you need anything simply ask one of the people outside your door. I hope you feel well enough to attend a meal tonight"
With that I left her to her thoughts, I also placed guards outside her door in case she tries to do anything stupid.
Walking beside Arin I asked "How are the titans doing?"
"Quite well my lord, they have increased the frequency of trade caravans being allowed into their settlement" he replied.
"That is good, I wanted to see how they would do on their own"
"We have also had more requests for animal hides from them"
"For what"
"For drums, they seem to like music quite a bit"
"They must get along with the elves then"
"They do, despite their size and physical strength they have a very gentle nature"
"Most likely because I made them with elephants, in my previous world they were a large but gentle species when treated with care"
"Based on their nature I would have to agree with you. Pardon my inquiry but what do you plan to do with the human"
"Technically she isn't completely human anymore"
"What?"
"With that eye she technically now has dragon blood flowing through her"
"The question still stands my lord, what is the plan"
"I am hoping to help rehabilitate her by giving her a safe and peaceful place to stay"
"So she is staying?"
"For now. If she gets better we can go from there"
"And if she doesn't?"
"We will decide that if she doesn't get better"
Later that day I was sitting at my dining table in my castle. Today's menu included some ironhide boar, and large eel which is surprisingly good. Looking up I startled myself seeing an elf standing against the wall to my left. She was quite beautiful like most elves, with delicate features and platinum blond hair, she wore an eggshell colored dress with some blue embroidered on it.
Seeing my jump she asked "Is everything alright my lord"
Composing myself I replied "Just not used to being waited on"
"Would you like me to leave"
"No, you're fine, have you eaten?"
"Yes, my lord I have already eaten"
Thinking for a second I asked, "What of our guest, how is she doing?"
"As far as I was told she is still in her room, she has yet to eat any of the meals bright to her through the day".
Looking at the elf closer I asked "What is your name?"
"My name is Faunalyn"
"Your class?"
"I am a traveling minstrel. Forgive my asking but can't you simply pull up our stats?"
"I can but conversation is usually my preferred method, who doesn't like good company" she smiled at that.
"I have a favor to ask"
Bowing she said "Anything my lord"
"I would like you to personally attend to our guest, she is in a delicate spot and someone like you may be able to help more than most"
"I would be honored my lord"
"I know you generally don't like humans"
"That is not.." she started but I intercepted.
"It's fine, I just wanted to inform you that she is no longer entirely human due to my own interference"
"That does help a bit," she said with a slight smile.
"And please come directly to me if there are any problems"
"Yes, my lord" she said standing back up unmoving.
"Well, what are you waiting for?"
Her eyes went wide "I apologies my lord" she made her way to the door.
As she left, I could see her face turning red at my loud laughter.

Wow. Chapter fifty honestly am surprised that I am already here. If you like my story, please leave a review. If you want to read another good Avatar fic. Please look at "Madara in the Avatar world" by KojiSan, his updating stability is crap, but it is by far one of my favorite fic's on web novel and I enjoy reading it.
