"Damn," Knox muttered. "This chick really is a lost case."

"But at least she knows how to pay for the goods," he continued as he easily plucked the |Mystical Body Tempering Pill| out of her hands. "I've heard of these before. The stewards talked about them being among the very best pills you could get while in the Body Refinement Realm. Their price was… I believe it's even more than I can afford."

The pill in his grasp was, after all, not only capable of tremendously improving one's cultivation while in the Body Refinement Realm, but it also had the unique effect of expunging the impurities within one's body.

As if he was wholeheartedly sure that his words would come to fruition, he confidently smirked and blurred.

When Knox reappeared, he was outside the mansion—a few thousand meters away, to be exact. He was still within the bounds of the Main Household's Territory, but he was in one of the quieter areas.

After finding himself a quaint tree erected atop a hill, he sat down beneath it. As a cool spring breeze blew the leaves on the tree and the blades of grass around him, he entered a deep state of cultivation.

In his right hand was the silver |Mystical Body Tempering Pill|, which he put in his mouth without hesitation.

At first, nothing happened.

However, as soon as the pill began to dissolve, Knox felt wave after wave of Innate Energy bombard his body. It seeped into all his pores and his Innate Energy Sea, improving every current aspect of his cultivation.

From his skin and flesh to his organs and marrow—it was all refined to a degree far superior to what he could've managed on his own. Furthermore, with him guiding the process, he used some of the pill's energy to light up the Inner Array Nodes he was missing.

Knox's Inner Array Nodes lit up at a similar rate to what his marrow was being refined at.

All 171 Inner Array Nodes had been lit up, with his entire body appearing like some kind of Christmas tree. The pain was on a level that exceeded his expectations, but it was still something he could handle.

"W-Well, damn," he murmured, short of breath. "Th-The pain has increased by another notch, but it has still yet to reach my tolerance limit. Far from it…"

Holding 171 Inner Array Nodes in a lit-up state for so long should've been impossible for any sane person. But luckily, that adjective did not exist in Knox's dictionary!
