ATG: Multiversal Transmigration System

Chapter 3: Takoyaki: Toji Style

In another place, Maki swung her cursed tool, Playful Cloud, in a wide arc, smashing through the head of a transfigured human. She barely had time to breathe before another cursed spirit lunged at her. Just as she prepared to strike again—

Whoosh!

The weapon suddenly vanished from her hands.

"Huh?" Maki blinked, only to see a tall, muscular man casually twirling Playful Cloud in his hand like a baton.

"Yo," Toji said, flashing a sharp grin. "Thanks for holding onto this for me."

Maki froze at what just happened. It wasn't that she didn't want to move or couldn't move.

It's the first time she was defeated in a competition of strength without even a struggle.

She never felt so small, so.... weak.

A few meters away, Naobito Zen'in, battered and worn from the night's battle, turned toward the commotion. The moment his sharp eyes landed on Toji, his blood ran cold.

"You..." His voice wavered, a rare moment of uncertainty from the head of the Zen'in Clan. His fingers twitched at his side as if trying to confirm that his own senses weren't failing him. "You're dead!"

Toji tilted his head slightly as if he were considering it. Then he grinned.

"Yeah, well… surprise."

Before either of them could react—

He vanished.

...

In an underground subway, Dagon was chewing the last remaining human he found in the nearby vicinity.

Dagon was far from his prime, now reduced to a pitiful form—like a baby octopus lost without its mother.

Toji landed on the subway as both the curse and the executioner comically looked at each other.

The silence didn't last long as Toji muttered,

Toji rolled his shoulders, cracking his neck as he took in the sight.

"You look ridiculous," he muttered, resting Playful Cloud on his shoulder. "And I've killed ridiculous things before."

Toji appeared right next to Dagon and punched him. Dagon was pushed away from the impact as he vomited a large number of human bones.

Glancing at the scattered bones, Toji muttered, "Not that I care about them," he admitted, tilting his head. "But you really did a number on 'em, huh? Makes me curious..."

His grin sharpened.

"...What else you can do."

Dagon just muttered,

"H-Hanami...Maa--ahito.... where are you?"

Toji realized something as he spoke,

"So, you want others to fight your battles huh? Well, too bad for you as that tree-hugger friend of yours was uprooted by that shiny eyes."

"As for the patch face, I'll send him to you and that tree hugger soon."

Dagon screeched,

"H-Hanami is ---- You dare!"

With that, he started to shift into his ultimate form just like in the original while Toji looked at it with a flashy grin.

"Yeah, get angry... get stronger. It would be too boring otherwise."

With a burst of light, the previous small octopus was nowhere to be seen, and, in its place was a red behemoth that roared loudly,

"You will pay!!"

"Come on, fish boy. Let's see if you can make this interesting."

With a deafening roar, Dagon unleashed a towering wave, surging toward Toji like a liquid beast.

But, Toji had already moved.

BOOM!

A shockwave exploded as Toji appeared mid-air, right above the oncoming wave, Playful Cloud spinning in his hands like a propeller before he swung down, cleaving through the attack like a blade through the water.

SPLASH!

Dagon barely had time to react before Toji appeared behind him, his speed so overwhelming that the cursed spirit could only flinch as Playful Cloud smashed into his side.

CRACK!

A single, devastating blow from Playful Cloud shattered part of Dagon's body, sending cursed energy fragments flying like glass shards.

"Not bad," Toji grinned. "But I've fought stronger fish."

Dagon roared once again, summoning his Domain Expansion: Horizon of the Captivating Skandha. The scenery around them shifted into an endless ocean, with massive aquatic creatures circling Toji like sharks around prey.

"Ah. Right. Domains," Toji muttered, rubbing the back of his neck. "Too bad they don't work on me."

Before Dagon could react, Toji flashed forward, ripping through the Domain's defenses as if they were paper, Playful Cloud striking like a divine hammer.

Dagon tried to counter, summoning his strongest shikigami, but it was useless—Toji was already inside his guard.

The last thing Dagon saw was the cold, merciless grin of the man who stood outside the limits of jujutsu itself.

BOOM!

With one final, earth-shattering strike, Toji obliterated Dagon, erasing him from existence.

Toji exhaled and slung Playful Cloud over his shoulder. "Man, I should've charged a fee for that one in honor of the original Toji."

He turned, walking off toward his next target—because Shibuya wasn't done with him yet.

.....

The moment Toji stepped out, the Domain behind him collapsed like fragile glass, breaking apart into nothing. The oppressive weight that had filled the space vanished in an instant, leaving behind a heavy silence.

And standing there, eyes wide with shock, were Nanami, Maki, and Naobito.

Nanami's grip on his weapon tightened. His sharp mind had already pieced together what happened—Dagon was gone, erased, and this man was the reason why. But that wasn't what disturbed him.

It was the how.

Naobito was from the Zen'in clan. He knew. And yet, he refused to believe what he was seeing.

"...Toji?" His voice was hoarse, disbelieving. "Weren't you dead?"

Toji arched an eyebrow. "Yeah, yeah. That's what everyone keeps saying." He turned his attention to Maki, who had been frozen ever since he appeared.

'She looks really fine. No wonder the world went crazy on her Mommy look.'

Nanami finally broke his silence, taking a careful step forward. "You killed the special grade?"

"Yeah," Toji yawned, stretching out his arm. "Didn't take long."

"...You have no cursed energy," Nanami muttered, the sheer impossibility of what he just saw weighing on him. "How did you—"

"Don't think too hard about it," Toji interrupted. "You'll just give yourself a headache."

Naobito finally regained his voice, though it was more of a snarl. "You're a disgrace to the Zen'in Clan."

Toji grinned at that, sharp and unapologetic.

"Yeah?" He tilted his head. "Well, news flash—" He vanished, appearing right next to Naobito in a blink, leaning in just enough to make the old man freeze.

"I don't give a shit about the Zen'in Clan."

He patted Naobito's shoulder like it was a joke before turning away, Playful Cloud swinging behind him as he walked off.

Maki, fists still clenched, watched him go. A thousand questions burned in her mind, but none of them made it to her lips.

Nanami let out a slow breath, steadying himself. Naobito remained frozen before a bitter chuckle finally escaped his lips.

"That bastard," he muttered. "That really was Toji Zen'in."
