Asura Emperor Venerable

Chapter 1118: A Comedy of Errors

Shi Hao strolled casually and arrived at the Qian Family's residence.

Since he had been here once before, he was naturally quite familiar with the place.

However, even though this Qian Family was of Silver Spirit Immortal level strength, and despite Shi Hao being an impressive Copper Armored Immortal, forcibly barging in was out of the question.

He would have to sneak in.

Shi Hao circled around the Qian Family's property, trying to find a possible entry point, but he discovered that there were formations everywhere. Even a fly would trigger them, inciting a lethal response.

— At the very least, it would alert the Qian Family.

Using the Immortal Abode to fly in?

Shi Hao thought about it. Firstly, doing so could still alarm them, and secondly, he didn't want to always rely on the Immortal Abode.

Time for a different approach.

He waited at a distance from the Qian Family's gate for about an hour, until he saw a man in green clothes emerge. Judging by his demeanor and behavior, he was likely a servant of the household.

When he got close, Shi Hao swiftly knocked him out, then quickly fled the scene.

Once he was in a sufficiently safe place, Shi Hao woke the man up.

"What's your name?" Shi Hao asked.

The man in green was utterly terrified, responding to a question with a question, "Who are you? What do you want with me?"

He was shaking all over with fear.

Geez, such a coward.

Not surprising though, in the Immortal Realm's Great Sacrificial Heaven, he really was incredibly weak, so it's normal to be timid.

Shi Hao didn't hit him, just flashed a knife and held it to the man's neck.

The man in green trembled even more violently but gradually calmed down under the threat of death.

"From now on, I'll ask questions and you'll answer them. As long as you answer honestly, I guarantee you'll live. Understand?" Shi Hao said.

"Understand! Understand!" The man in green nodded vigorously.

Shi Hao asked questions very carefully, and the man in green answered in great detail.

After half a day, Shi Hao knocked him out again.

This time, the man would be unconscious for at least ten days.

He hid him in this abandoned house, where he would surely remain undiscovered for those ten days.

Shi Hao took off the man's coat and put it on, quickly changing his appearance.

— If the man in green woke up now and saw Shi Hao, he'd be shocked, thinking he suddenly had a twin brother.

Shi Hao then used Little Star Universe to disguise his aura, and returned to the Qian Residence.

At the gate, he walked in majestically.

"Li Bing, why so early this time?" the guard at the entrance asked.

"Too lax, I suppose. Rare chance to spend a day with the wife, and it ended so soon?"

"Hahaha, too lax indeed!"

The other guards laughed and teased Li Bing.

They were all Heaven Building Ladder, the strongest combat power just below an Immortal in the Immortal Realm, so they didn't care about joking with a simple Great Sacrificial Heaven.

Shi Hao put on a sheepish look and quickly entered the gate.

Hearing those four guards still laughing, he snapped his fingers lightly.

"Ouch!"

"Ouch!"

The four guards immediately fell, bewildered about what just happened.

— Shi Hao wasn't one to be humiliated; even in disguise, he wouldn't allow it!

He followed what the real Li Bing said and went all the way to his residence.

He was a handyman at the Qian Residence, tasked with sweeping the courtyard and feeding a couple of ferocious beasts kept there. The work wasn't too heavy.

Shi Hao first sought out his supervisor to report back, a man named Han Mingyue.

"Lord Han!" Shi Hao knocked on the door.

"Eek!" The door creaked open, revealing a middle-aged man looking about forty. He glanced around, then nodded, "Come in."

Very proper, very serious.

Shi Hao walked in, and Han Mingyue promptly shut the door.

"Lord Han, I'm here to report back—"

"Little Bing Bing, I've told you many times, when no one's around, just call me Ming Ming or Yue Yue," Han Mingyue immediately interrupted Shi Hao, reaching to grasp his wrist. "Little Bing Bing, you came back so soon, you definitely didn't do 'that' with your wife, right? I just knew you're truly in love with me!"

Damn, what's this situation?

A gay romance?

Shi Hao was pretty open-minded, indifferent to same-sex or lesbian relationships, but don't get me involved.

He had only asked about Li Bing's duties at the Qian Residence, his supervisor, and some usual habits, so he wouldn't be exposed after impersonating him—at least not for a few days.

Never would have thought this guy was having a gay relationship.

Damn, how could he have anticipated such a problem?

Bam!

Shi Hao slapped Han Mingyue unconscious, then stored him in the Immortal Abode.

Sigh!

He sat down, beginning to self-reflect.

The character he was impersonating unraveled too fast.

Where did I go wrong?

Nowhere!

If there was any mistake, it was just his bad luck selecting someone with a same-sex relationship to impersonate.

"Little Stone, your luck, tsk tsk!" Purple Gold Rat popped out, realizing something went wrong with Shi Hao's plan when it saw a stranger in the Immortal Abode.

Shi Hao twitched the corner of his mouth, giving just two chuckles.

Knock, knock, knock, unexpectedly the door was rapped again at this moment.

Shi Hao frowned, who could it be?

He didn't have time to switch identities again, so he directly opened the door.

Outside, another man in green, the standard attire for the Qian household servants.

But… who are you?

Shi Hao didn't plan on staying here long-term, so although he got a lot of information from Li Bing, he didn't dig up everything—like the big deal of a same-sex relationship.

"Li Bing, weren't you visiting home?" the man asked upon entering, squeezing past Shi Hao and looking around, "You shameless fool, are you afraid I'll steal Ming Ming away?"

Wait, hold on!

Shi Hao was a bit dizzy; was this a jealous lover's quarrel?

Geez, wasn't Han Mingyue just professing true love? How come there's a "third party" popping up so quickly?

Damn, they even have a third party in a gay relationship?

Shi Hao felt his worldview shattering. He casually closed the door.

"What, you do such things, yet fear being seen?" the man said like a scolding housewife, all the while heading towards the inner room, "Ming Ming, come out, you owe me an explanation today!"

Shi Hao sighed, slapped the man unconscious, and stored him in the Immortal Abode as well.

Geez, I was just impersonating someone to investigate the Qian Family's medicine fields or storage, how did it spiral into such chaos?

Now there were suddenly three people he knocked out, but only one of him. How to manage this?

Forget it.

Shi Hao impersonated Han Mingyue, at least it's enough to be a minor leader with some authority, which should allow him to roam freely in the Qian Residence for a while.
