20. Stupid
The two old men finished scolding each other after a while. This has become their routine from the time when they were in the military and worked together for many times.
“Now, tell me why you suddenly called.” Old Master Nan snorted.
“I’m just calling you to tell that my grandson had interacted with your good granddaughter in the Virtual World.”
“So?” Old Master Nan arched his eyebrows. Thinking of that arrogant yet capable man, Old Master Nan had an inexplicable headache. He knew how powerful Long Qian Xing was, but he also understood that he was such an annoying man.
There were many incidents that was caused by Long Qian Xing that caused old men’s teeth to itch so badly.
Many people had long wanted to beat that young man.
“He seems to have good impression of her and….”
Old Master Nan’s eyes narrowed. “If he dared to mess around with my granddaughter, I’ll personally go to the academy and break his leg.”
“Don’t worry, I can break his leg for you.” Old Master Long also wanted to beat up this grandson of his. “I can’t understand one thing.”
“Speak.”
“Why did you not be the one to teach your granddaughter? You know that you have free time and could enter the Virtual World at any time.”
When Old Master Long received Old Master Nan’s request not long ago, he was bewildered. Because he thought that Old Master Nan would be the one to teach his granddaughter.
In terms of skills, how could they be worse than that brat Long Qian Xing?
But Old Master Nan asked Long Qian Xing to come forward instead, making Old Master Long confused.
Now that he heard Old Master Nan being protective to Nan Hua, he could tell that this old friend of his treasured his granddaughter. In that case, why not personally accompany her rather than keeping a strict face?
“Do you think it’s more comfortable to be with someone around her age or an elder who make her feel constricted all the time?” Old Master Nan answered with question and looked at the window. “I don’t want her to feel uncomfortable because of my presence.”
He’s a former general and also someone who had spent a long time on the battlefield. If he were to stand in front of Nan Hua, would she feel comfortable enough to be herself around him?
It would be better for him to seek for people who could suit his granddaughter to spend time with her and make her happy.
Old Master Long listened for a moment and sighed. He then spat out, “Stupid.”
“You’re the stupid one, damn b*#$%^&*(!”
“$%^&*()!”
…
While the two old men were cursing each other, Nan Hua had returned to her room from the Virtual World.
She stood up and stretched her body before moving to the desktop and turned the holographic computer on. This was the most widely used computer in this era and they could easily control the screen through the touch in the air.
It was very convenient.
Nan Hua lightly opened her email and looked at the message that flashed on top of it for a moment.
There were several types of method for the organization to give them missions.
First, it was through people from other section coming directly to send them the details of confidential mission. This was used only for the most confidential mission that could not pass through the internet and the Virtual World.
Two, it was through their personal terminal in the base when they were on the break between missions. After all, there were also places where they could stay when they were not doing missions or had to disappear from the eyes of the world.
Third, they will contact and leave message in their current identity’s email and other social circle. This method was used for small missions that usually given to several people at once and was within the convenient area.
The messages were also coded.
That way, no one would know that this was actually a mission given to them.
“The deadline is moved up, huh?” Nan Hua looked at the message on the screen and lightly swiped it. The message disappeared as if it had never existed in the first place.
She turned around and walked out.
It was time for dinner.
