Assassin God: Rise of the Strongest Player

Chapter 49 : Hidden Quest

Naturally, weapons with additional perks, most especially attributes, would cost more than ordinary weapons without these extra things.

Unfortunately for Nash, he got a fire sword as the epic item and with a bizarre requirement to use it.

First, the fire element was not beneficial to anybody at this stage in the game.

Heck, the majority of the players he helped scale through the Fiery Marsh were fire mages.

Secondly, he was not a magic swordsman.

His character was even more physically inclined than magic, and neither was he a swordsman.

The Fire Sword was useless to him, and even if he was to sell it, he wouldn't cost much compared to weapons that granted other attributes like wind, ice, water etc.

At this point, everyone mostly avoided fire and anything associated with it because of the Fiery Marsh dungeon.

Demand was the major determinant in a market. He did not make the rule, that was just how it worked.

Regardless, he could still manage to sell the sword for at least 20,000 copper coins.

The rest of the group felt sad for Nash since they knew that his epic item was of no use.

Nash, himself, knew that there was only one of two options he could take concerning the fire sword.

Either he sells it or he freely gives it away.

For now, Nash kept the weapon to decide on what to do with it later.

"Damn, I'm so tired."

"Yeah, me too. I gotta go."

"Same. I need to turn in a paper early tomorrow morning."

"It's almost morning already. I need to get, even if it's a little time to sleep."

"Looks like you are not logging off anytime soon," LadyFlame asked Nash.

Nash smiled and shook his head. "Yeah. I got the Apex gaming pod."

"Woah! Seriously?" LadyFlame exclaimed excitedly. "You are so rich!"

Nash scratched the back of his head, knowing that LadyFlame would definitely misunderstand.

In truth, it was Bella Codrin who got him the Apex gaming pod.

The head gear version that she purchased was an upgraded version that came with a gaming pod that allowed the player to relax inside it like a small cosy bed.

She had requested for two while at the store but there was one left, asking for her and Nash to wait for the second to be brought in but unfortunately, they couldn't.

Bella took the head gear and immediately after, she left the store.

It was not long after that did they both have the gaming pods delivered to her and Nash separately since she paid for two people.

"I will probably go off for a moment and switch to using the pod."

"That's cool though. I wish I had one."

They both laughed over it and LadyFlame waved him goodbye.

"See you tomorrow then."

"Goodnight, Lady."

LadyFlame logged out of the game, leaving Nash alone since the fire mages had also left and the healers went about their individual businesses.

Nash was tired of the Fiery Marsh and decided to go for something else in the wild.

There was a treasure that he had been coveting that was there but he was not at the level to get it then, but now he was.

Nash headed into the thick forest of a jungle, raising his fame points by 1 point.

This jungle was considered as home to monsters above level 5 and there were in their numbers inside this place

After engaging in a loop of Fiery Marsh clearings, Nash was finally level 5 and that particular dungeon was not as accessible to him anymore as it would be to other fire mages that teamed up with him.

He entered the jungle to find some monsters to kill but the main monsters who dominated this habitat were the Bizarre Lizards.

The bizarre lizards were level 5 monsters and very large creatures at that, about two metres in length.

Their body structure alone was enough to tell any player that they were powerful with formidable strength.

Bizarre Lizards were physical-based monsters with high attack power and speed, but their magic defense was low.

Just the Fiery Marsh did not favour fire mages, this situation was going to be hectic for physical type characters but a paradise for mages who have good magic casting.

As soon as he entered the jungle, Nash was sniffed out by the monsters here but the player had no plans of engaging in meaningless battle here.

He activated his stealth and moved away, avoiding a fight with the many creatures that lurked around him.

After walking for several metres, Nash came to a place where he could hear the sound of water flowing ahead.

He made his way there and found a river, with another jungle on the other side of it.

The river was large and to cross over to the other side, one had to use the wooden bridge that joined both sides.

Unfortunately, the bridge was damaged. There was a large hole gaping right at the centre of it that was quite concerning since one couldn't simply jump over it without falling into the river.

As games usually went, if there was something to fix, then there was likely a quest associated with it.

And as expected, the wooden bridge repair was a hidden quest where a player had to go back to the village to get a skilled carpenter who could fix it.

Players who could swim wouldn't bother going through the wooden bridge but Nash came here for this quest and since he didn't have any skill that could help him across, he had to find a way to complete the task by seeking out the carpenter.

'The player who did this mission in the past left a guide. I read it back then but I don't remember it so much. I just recall that you have to prove to the carpenter that the bridge was broken before you can get the quest assigned to you.'

Nash sighed. "How do I prove that now?"
