Assassin God: Rise of the Strongest Player

Chapter 47 : Frost Dagger

After his tenth try of the [Open Sesame] skill, the box opened with a chilling aura that was palpable around the assassin class player.

Along with the bluish white light first came copper coins as he actually expected.

However, unlike the previous box, there was only one item and this did not look like any common item he would find just anywhere.

It was a dagger, whose blade seemed to have been carved from sharp ice.

Frost Dagger

Rank : Rare

Level : 4

Perks : +29 Attack, +6 Strength, Ice attribute

"Muahahahaha!"

Nash couldn't help but let out a loud villainous laughter at the sight of the rare items.

He quickly grabbed the dagger by its handle and raised it into the air, laughing even louder than he did before.

"What the actual fuck! A weapon with an ice attribute!" he exclaimed with profound excitement, "Who would have thought!"

If he had not known better, Nash would have believed that he was the main character of a webtoon whose regression was accompanied by plot armour blessings.

Nash was in need of a good weapon at this stage of the game and now he had gotten a rare-ranked one of the same level as he was.

Aside from getting a weapon, Nash was even more excited about the ice attributes that came from using the dagger.

Monsters of the [Fiery Marsh] may have high attribute points when it came to fire resistance but when it comes to ice or water, which are weaknesses of the fire element, theirs were extremely low if not nonexistent.

Nash could not estimate the exact number it would be, but he was certain that it would be negligible.

Using the Frost Dagger would raise his attack power as high as mid-50s range in number or a little bit more even.

It was like going from a hand pistol to being given a machine gun while in battle, the scale up from tremendous!

Nash was not worried about whatever difficulty they entered the dungeon in any more. Naturally, he was concerned since he was the one carrying the team. If he fails, they all fail.

But now, not only has his attack power doubled, but he now wielded ice as well.

Nash took the Frost Dagger and put it away into his inventory space and departed the location, heading back to Fiery Marsh where he expected to meet the rest of his group.

Nash returned and met two new faces in the team.

Without a second thought, he assumed that they were the healer class players to join them in their quest.

Nash was not wrong since they were indeed level 3 healer class players who had been recruited for the raid of Fiery Marsh at a higher difficulty.

"You all are fire type mages? What the hell?!" one of the new healers lamented as he discovered this sad truth. "How then do you hope to deal any damage to fire type monsters? You all just want us to waste our mana healing you up, right?"

The healer was pained, thinking that they had tricked him into trying to extort his ability for their selfish gains.

This healer's name was Gurama.

"That's not it, Gurama," one of the fire mages replied back.

Gurama stamped his foot on the ground and fired right back immediately, "Then what is?! You can't even kill one monster in that dungeon and yet you want to enter there at such a high difficulty. If you all are suicidal, then leave me out of it, goddamit!"

Gurama was about to quit the group and leave while they tried to convince him otherwise.

"At least, chill until our captain comes," another fire mage pleaded, "then you will see you need us as much as we need you."

Gurama tilted his head and sneered at the mage. "Huh? Me? Need you? You guys came to recruit me, remember?"

Gurama then facepalmed and shook his head. "I can't believe this. You guys realise that if we die inside there, there are penalties."

"We know that," LadyFlame added, finally making an input in the chaos of a discussion, "but I ask that you wait a little bit."

"Then I will compensate you for whatever you lost," a voice interrupted from behind Gurama.

Every one of them looked in that direction, their eyes bright and excited as they saw their team captain.

It was Nash approaching them.

Gurama turned around as well and saw the assassin coming close.

"Yes. I will compensate you for your loss," Nash repeated again before turning his eyes to the rest, "and if we are wiped out, I will give each person 10,000 copper coins."

Gurama froze.

He was speechless and in the coming couple of seconds, only his eyes moved as they narrowed.

He did not believe that Nash had that amount of coins to share.

It was either he had it or he didn't, but was confident in his ability to clear the dungeon that he was sure that there would be no need to share coins as compensation.

Gurama looked at the other healer who was recruited along with him.

They both shrugged at each other and agreed to join them in the next dungeon raid.

It was a win-win situation for the two of them.

If Nash could back his big words with equal actions, they would gain a lot, and if he couldn't, they would still gain 10,000 copper coins.

Nash chuckled and sprang into action, with the rest following behind him as they all entered the dungeon.

In the twinkle of an eye, Nash had swept through the army of fireflies and led the group into the room where they would face the flame pumpkins.

Several flame pumpkins exploded into pixels within a few slashes of Nash's dagger, stunning the two healers who recently joined the team.

"What the hell am I watching?" Gurama unknowingly muttered, enchanted by Nash's strength and skill.

LadyFlame tapped Gurama on the shoulders and laughed.

"Well, for what it's worth, we were all astonished too when we saw him in action."

LadyFlame's eyes squinted as he closely observed Nash.

'Something is different,' she thought to herself for a moment. 'Did he acquire a new weapon?'
