Ashen Dragon

Chapter 329: The Situation in Seleucis (Part 2)

Dionysus was the first to stand up, nodding slightly towards the nearby Goblin Marshal, and said: "Greetings, Marshal Dolores. With the war situation so tense, I will get straight to the point.

I am Dionysus, an envoy of His Majesty Bahamut. Our Metal Dragons have been fighting the Dragon Worship Cult in the western Talilo for years. We are willing to unite with the Nobles to completely annihilate the Blue Dragon Sect and capture the entire Faria Clan in one swoop."

"Shameless Metal Dragons!"

The Blue Dragon Noblewoman slammed the table, her eyebrows raised and eyes flashing with angry sparks — she was none other than Christina in human form.

She shouted angrily, "It was clearly you who first provoked the Faria Clan, shamelessly attacked our nests, and killed my kinsmen, which led to this war!"

Dionysus regarded the Blue Dragon in human form with a particularly cold voice: "And the offspring of Tiamat dares to appear here? Your Faria Clan is already the enemy of everyone present!"

"True to the Five-colored Evil Dragons, always quick to blame others. Who first cruelly murdered his own kind? Wasn't it your Elder Goraz Dera?"

Christina forcibly suppressed her anger, replied with a sullen expression: "Bloodline doesn't determine everything. His Majesty Cassius is also born of the Red Dragons among the Five-colored Dragons. Do you see him as an enemy too?"

Dionysus remained calm, sarcastically retorting: "His Majesty Cassius has never served Tiamat like a dog as your Faria Clan does, at the cost of your own lives!"

"You—"

Christina angrily slammed the table but then calmed down, arguing with displeasure, "Gold Dragon, your motives are too obvious. What you mentioned was the act of Goraz Dera herself; she went mad, and it has nothing to do with us, the Faria Clan."

"Clap, clap, clap..."

Dionysus applauded sarcastically, speaking coldly: "Look at that, truly shameless Blue Dragons! You said nothing when you profited from Goraz Dera's power, and now you try to disassociate yourselves? Do you think everyone here is a fool?"

The words of the Ancient Gold Dragon successfully ignited the fury of many races who had grudges against the Five-colored Dragons, such as the Brass Dragon, Dwarves, and Elves, whose envoys looked at the Blue Dragon with hostile eyes.

Even Dolores, sitting at the head, watched Christina with amused interest, wanting to see her reaction.

In the struggle between the Five-colored Dragons and the Metal Dragons, Dolores had no obvious bias; his sole purpose was to fulfill the task given by His Imperial Majesty — to maximize the Empire's interests and seize the entire Kingdom of Seleucis with minimal damage.

Faced with looks cast from all directions, Christina stood fearlessly, glanced at Dolores sitting in the main seat, and said firmly: "Duke Dolores, you should be aware that secular moral codes are meaningless to the Empire."

She clenched her fist, speaking loudly: "Our Faria Clan resides deep within the Talilo Desert, controls many of the Blue Dragon Sect's forces, and holds many confidential intelligence, capable of bringing the most substantial benefits to the Empire."

Dolores nodded slightly, "Sounds pretty good."

But soon, the Dragon Vein Goblin scrutinized Christina: "However — how can the Empire trust you? Ensure you won't turn against us?"

Dionysus echoed: "Ridiculous, you are the biggest beneficiaries of the havoc caused by the Blue Dragon Sect, yet the enemy's leader seeks refuge with us, unheard of and unseen."

Christina said, "You don't need to give anything; it's merely an equivalent exchange. Our Faria Clan will avoid conflict with the Empire, assist them in better controlling the Talilo region post-war, and all the Empire needs to do is ensure the safety of my kin."

At this, Dolores laughed and said: "The friendship between the Empire and the Faria Clan is longstanding, of course, this is not a problem. I hope our cooperation can continue."

The Great Goblin then turned to look at the other envoys and said: "And where is your sincerity?"

Dionysus confidently replied: "For years, we, the Metal Dragons, have been striving to stop the atrocities of the Dragon Worship Cult, continuously leading the Seleucid people to rebel.

We are willing to collaborate with the Empire, work together, and simultaneously launch an attack from the northwest and northeast of Talilo, and destroy the Blue Dragon Sect completely."

The Dwarf from the South also stood up, speaking gruffly: "We Dwarves have been oppressed by that damned Dragonborn for too long. They've forced us into exhausting mining, forging steel, and producing weapons, it's outrageous!"

Similarly, the Elf envoy from Serinia stood and coldly said: "Her Majesty Catherine supports all actions that prevent the descent of the evil faction's Divine, and we are willing to send a Silver Moon Guard elite force."

"Thank you all for your assistance, I firmly believe that the Seleucid people will never submit to those evil Dragonborn," Duke Adrian said solemnly.

"Very well, with your help, the strength of the Allied Forces will continue to grow, and we shall ultimately defeat the Dragon Worship Cult," Dolores concluded with a smile at everyone.

Thus, a loose alliance comprising Humans, Dwarves, Elves, and even Giant Dragons was born, with large contingents from various factions heading to the front lines, confronting the Dragon Worship Cult.

Nevertheless, the power of the Dragon Worship Cult is not to be underestimated, as under Tiamat's Divine Oracle, Five-colored Dragons and evil Sub-dragons from all over flock to the battlefield, hoping to gain favor with the Mother of Evil Dragons.

The power of both sides in the war continues to grow.

Meanwhile, in a carriage leaving the city, the Blue Dragon disguised as a coachman turned his head and whispered, "Milady, are we really going to completely betray the Dragon Worship Cult? Elder Goraz Dera's wrath, we could..."

Christina sneered and waved her hand: "Who said we're going all the way to the dark side? You must know betting on both sides has always been a fine tradition of the Faria Clan.

After the war starts, we just need to stay in the rear and watch the changes — especially paying attention to the battle between Cassius and Goraz Dera, and we will help whoever wins."

The Blue Dragon hesitated, "But if Her Majesty the Dragon Queen gets angry and punishes us..."

Christina's expression turned cold, and she said quietly: "For thousands of years, our Faria Clan has served her tirelessly, fighting to the end. Have we ever received any substantial rewards?"

"In this war, we've lost more than twenty clansmen, yet that Majesty still ignores us. If the Dragon Worship Cult loses this time, aligning with the Ashen Empire is undoubtedly a better path."

The Blue Dragon's voice carried a hint of fear: "But... Milady, she is a True God, the ancestor of all Five-colored Dragons!"

Christina picked up a strand of hair with her slender fingers, twirling it around her finger for several laps: "What of a True God? Ultimately unable to descend to the Material Plane. If I could smoothly become the companion of His Majesty Cassius... even if a True God descended, what is there to fear?"

Soon, the carriage drove out of the city, heading towards the distant desert. Just before entering Talilo, the horses pulling the carriage let out terrified screams, legs weakening almost to the point of collapse.

The carriage suddenly burst apart, the figure within the smoke grew larger, and a massive Blue Dragon descended onto the sand, her four claws deeply embedded in the sand layer, issuing a long-suppressed roar.

"This transformation technique suffocated me..."

The horses broke free from the reins and fled in panic, but the Blue Dragon suddenly pounced, extending her claws to shove the sturdy horse into her mouth, her jaws making crisp chewing sounds as blood and flesh flew everywhere.

"Let's go, we're returning to the Dragon Nest." Christina wiped her bloody mouth with her claws, flapped her wings, and took to the sky, stirring up a fierce storm carrying sand and dust.
