Ashen Dragon

Chapter 25

Outskirts of Olay City, Ande Village.

"Roar—"

The demon, with a terrifying face resembling a collapsed-faced ape with long fierce fangs, pounded its chest and let out an angry roar.

It was a Bagulamo!

It was the embodiment of barbarism and fury from The Abyss, these chaotic beasts would strip frightful trophies from the bodies of their enemies.

And this Bagulamo, its wrists and neck adorned with chains made of stark white skeletal remains, hung with the skulls of countless humanoid beings—humans, Orcs, Elves, Dwarves...

"Feeble insects, I'll crush you!"

The Bagulamo leaped suddenly, crashing down from mid-air with its huge fists pounding towards the crowd nearby.

"Boom!"

The ground cracked, stones flew, and dust filled the sky.

More broken flesh exploded, painting the Bagulamo's fur with a smear of blood, while its mighty fists dripped with fresh gore.

On the ground, a massive pit appeared, filled with bloodied, unrecognizable players.

"This gorilla monster hits too hard!"

"Aim for its neck!"

Despite the ghastly fate of their comrades, the remaining players showed no sign of retreat, still hovering around the Bagulamo, continuing to raise their guns and fire.

"Bang!"

"Bang! Bang!"

Bullets poured out in a dense stream, hitting the Bagulamo's thick fur and bursting into bursts of blood.

The Bagulamo, in pain, showed a ghastly and ferocious expression, using its disproportionately thick arms to shield itself and emitting enraged roars, charging at the crowd.

"Ao—"

"Get out of the way! It's coming again!"

"Bull Demon's ass, this gorilla's tough! Hundreds of bullets and still not down!"

The ground trembled as the furious Bagulamo charged into the crowd, swinging its massive fists, smashing several players into a pulp in an instant.

"Keep firing, don't chicken out!"

"This gorilla monster is almost done for!"

"Roar! Roar! Roar!"

The excited Bagulamo roared as it grabbed a player in its hand.

Veins on its robust arms bulged as a force from The Abyss was unleashed.

"Snap!"

The player didn't even have time to cry for help before they became a pile of indistinct flesh, their bones crushed with the sound of breaking.

Then, the Bagulamo stuffed the mix of blood and gore, speckled with bone fragments, into its vast maw and chewed without restraint.

"Human, a snack, delicious!"

Yet the players showed no fear, continuing to shoot, even curiously discussing amongst themselves in lulls of the fight.

"Ate another one."

"Does human flesh taste that good? Damn, I almost want to cut a piece of myself and give it a try."

"Bang!"

At last, a bullet, grazing the fur on its arm, burrowed into the Bagulamo's neck.

"We got it!"

"Ao—"

"Human! Die!"

The Bagulamo's eyes instantly turned blood-red; it opened its giant maw, emitting a fishy stench, and then, gathering a running start, leaped.

"Boom!"

The ground shook again, and the place where the player who just fired stood was turned into a rubble-strewn wasteland.

The Bagulamo turned its head in confusion, but the pain on its body persisted, bullets still raining down on it; those fearless humans showed no signs of scattering.

Had it not killed nearly a third of them already?

That wasn't right, were these the same frail humans who could only run and scream in its memory?

The Bagulamo, stumbling along the ground like an ape and vastly huge, was essentially a born target.

Soon, its monstrous and fierce body was riddled with bullet holes, oozing corrosive purple-black blood plasma, bubbling disgustingly with stench.

At this moment, the Bagulamo's movement became wobbly, its body weighed down by bullets more than flesh—if it were a normal creature, it likely would have been dead already.

"Quick, keep going!"

"This gorilla's head is mine!"

"Charge!"

The players' excited cheers entered the Bagulamo's ears, and its heart surged with an uncontrollable rage.

As a being that had risen from an Original Demon to become a Bagulamo, it had destroyed countless human settlements, relishing them as the tastiest snacks.

Yet now, it was being hunted by these weaklings!

This was utterly unforgivable!

"Roar—"

The Bagulamo roared, bathed in blood as it charged into the crowd, using its last bit of strength to wildly destroy everything around it.

"Second phase!"

"Brothers, quick, spread out!"

"Boom!"

"Destruction!"

The Bagulamo's fists never stopped swinging, the ground around it collapsed, rocks shattered, trees snapped, and buildings crumbled into ruins...

This Bagulamo had completely lost the last of its sanity, transformed into a symbol of savagery and frenzy from The Abyss, its momentum to annihilate everything was terrifying—yet it did not include those players.

The players hid at a distance, still shooting continuously, pulling hatred from different directions.

"Bang!"

Following the last bullet that pierced through the thick fur and entered the filthy, raging flesh.

"Ao—"

The Bagulamo finally howled with a crash, causing the ground to shake once more.

The death of a demon sometimes results in strange phenomena.

Under the watchful eyes of the players, its body exploded into many inch-tall demons identical to itself.

"Roar! Roar!"

These tiny demons immediately fought each other, tearing apart, until there was only one left; the little Bagulamo beat its chest, then vanished in a puff of smoke.

This demon, which had grown powerful through war and slaughter, ultimately perished in combat and returned to the Abyssal Blood Pool.
