Ascending the National Fortune: I Bring Technology from the Future

Chapter 57

Chapter 57: What Happened

As silence enveloped the surroundings in the late night hours, Fang Jian slowly rose from his bed. Then, with a subtle thought, he activated his biological armor. As the armor successfully covered him, Fang Jian felt significantly braver. He then initiated the scanning function…

After a moment, Fang Jian quietly turned it off!

It wasn’t because the scanning function was ineffective but because it was exceptionally efficient. As soon as it was activated, countless red dots instantly appeared around him. The sheer number of these red dots had reached an unimaginable level.

Fang Jian was certain that among these red dots, besides humans, there were probably other creatures in the city as well. It wouldn’t be a big deal if it were just stray cats or dogs. But if it included rats… well, it did include rats. Otherwise, why would there be so many dots?

So, this scanning ability was practically useless for Fang Jian at that moment. Nonetheless, he focused his thoughts and entered the spatial room, instantly appearing in his home after three consecutive teleports from a dark, quiet alley.

He had received a message that a cargo ship departing from Bremen, Germany, was about to arrive at the port. Fang Jian had to go there to complete the exchange of goods personally. Otherwise, it would be quite amusing if he opened the ship’s cargo and found a pile of junk.

Fang Jian had worked hard to secure a shipload of goods and didn’t want to waste it like that. Therefore, half an hour later, Fang Jian quietly and stealthily arrived on the cargo ship. After some effort, he successfully replaced the items he wanted.

However, this time, the multi-axis CNC machine tool he acquired was much smaller in size and weight compared to the previous one. But the container sent from Germany had twice the quantity. So, after careful consideration, Fang Jian also swapped a box of Haibosen high-end sensors. With that, he directly completed three out of the eight tasks.

After much hard work, Fang Jian returned home smoothly without being noticed or detected by anyone. Since he had the means of spatial teleportation, it was challenging for ordinary people to track his whereabouts.

The next morning, Fang Jian called Zhang Liang and informed him they needed two instruments, not just one, among today’s incoming goods at the port.

Zhang Liang didn’t dare to delay and immediately relayed this information. Soon after, another unit quietly mobilized. This time, the movement of the unit was extremely discreet. Even most people at the port only felt a slightly tense atmosphere, without the same solemnity.

Soon, when the containers marked by Fang Jian were transported to a dedicated warehouse, prepared experts swarmed in. Although Fang Jian’s notifications always came with tight deadlines, no one had any complaints about them.

It would be better if fewer people knew about such matters. Did they have to use a loudspeaker to broadcast it to the world?

Although the installation and debugging of the instruments couldn’t be done on-site, the experts were already fairly certain that the items were correct. However, until the real test was conducted, everyone’s anxious hearts couldn’t completely relax.

After finishing his tasks, Fang Jian naturally didn’t pay any further attention. He stayed at home honestly, enjoying the company of his parents and the joyful atmosphere.

In the afternoon, his phone suddenly rang. Looking at it, it was an unfamiliar number, and Fang Jian initially planned not to answer it since there were too many sales calls nowadays. But after a brief thought, he pressed the answer button.

“Hello, is this Fang Jian.”

Fang Jian was shocked. The voice sounded somewhat familiar, but he couldn’t recall it for a moment. “Ah, yes, it’s me. Who is this?”

“It’s me, Fang Jian, it’s Aunt Liu.”

Aunt Liu?

Fang Jian’s eyes lit up, and he immediately recognized her. He laughed and said, “Aunt Liu, it’s you! Is my master there?”

When Fang Jian first went to Mali two years ago, everything was unfamiliar. The company assigned him to follow a mentor named Wang Huan.

Wang Huan was ten years older than him and personally guided him from being a clueless novice to a competent salesperson. Liu’s Auntie was Wang Huan’s wife.

Fang Jian had a good relationship with Wang Huan, and even after Wang Huan left the company, their bond didn’t fade. However, Fang Jian hadn’t met Liu’s Auntie more than a few times so he couldn’t recognize her voice immediately.

Aunt Liu’s voice choked up. “Fang Jian, can you lend me some money? I… I can use my house as collateral.”

Fang Jian’s expression changed slightly, and he said, “Aunt Liu, don’t panic. Tell me, what happened?”
