Chapter 48
Chapter 48: Scrap-grade Instruments
After bidding farewell to his parents and Yiyi, Fang Jian boarded the plane bound for the small notebook country. Yiyi was naturally reluctant to see Fang Jian leave, but given the current situation and Fang Jian’s promise to bring her gifts upon his return, she managed to smile despite her tears.
The Flame Kingdom was not far from the small notebook country. Yongcheng had direct flights to the Western Capital, but Fang Jian’s destination wasn’t the Western Capital; it was the next stop on this plane, New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido, North Hedao.
Indeed, Babouli had already toured the small notebook country and achieved impressive results. While cities like the capital and Da Ban had many instruments, purchasing and transporting them back to the country posed some challenges, even for the most basic instruments.
However, buying scrap-grade instruments from Beidao would make the situation much easier, especially for scrap metal-level instruments. Babouli had already contacted several merchants in Beidao, waiting for Fang Jian to decide.
In fact, with the Space House at his disposal, Fang Jian could remotely manage the entire process without any issues. Still, considering that the other party had recently solved a problem for him and helped his father get promoted, Fang Jian felt it was essential to show that he was actively involved in the process, even if it meant appearing busy.
The plane briefly stopped in the Western Capital for an hour before reaching Beidao. Beidao covered one-fifth of Japan’s total area but had only half the capital’s population, resulting in a low population density between Sapporo and Asahikawa.
When Fang Jian disembarked from the plane, two individuals were waiting for him. Babouli led the way, while the other person was a native of the small notebook country named Yamada Yosuke, who sold scrap-grade instruments and had partnered with Babouli.
Babouli’s introduction made the interaction between the two parties very cordial. In the evening, Yamada Yosuke invited Fang Jian and Babouli to experience the hospitality of the people of Beidao.
The following day, he took Fang Jian and Babouli to a partially abandoned warehouse where numerous machines were stored. When Fang Jian saw these machines, he was pleasantly surprised, as the condition of these machines was exceptionally good. It explained why the people of this small notebook country were treating him with such courtesy. The machines were covered in rust and seemed to have been abandoned for many years.
Fang Jian estimated that even if these items were sold as scrap metal, they might not cover the shipping costs. The shipping fees in the small notebook country were unusually high, and it was possible that the depreciation cost of this scrap metal would exceed the shipping cost.
Seeing Fang Jian’s slightly furrowed brow, the person from the small notebook country felt slightly embarrassed. They naturally understood the nature of these goods. Even if these items were sold as junk, they wouldn’t fetch much money.
However, in certain aspects, the people of the small notebook country were stubbornly admirable. Despite knowing the chances of a deal were slim, they still treated their guests warmly, hoping for that glimmer of hope.
After some contemplation, Fang Jian asked, “Yamada Yosuke, how do you sell these instruments?”
Yamada Yosuke’s eyes brightened, and he quickly said, “Mr. Fang, although these instruments are a bit old, they can still be used if refurbished.”
Fang Jian shook his head, saying, “Your speed is too slow.”
Yamada Yosuke smiled, and Fang Jian continued, “Okay, just pack them directly into the crates and ship them to the country. I will find someone to refurbish them.”
Yamada Yosuke hesitated for a moment and then said, “Mr. Fang, are you…?”
Fang Jian replied, “As for whom I sell them to, how much I sell them for, and under what name I sell them as instruments, that’s my business. You don’t need to worry about it.”
Yamada Yosuke’s eyelids twitched as he realized that this person from the Dragon Kingdom had a seriously twisted conscience. He wanted to buy a batch of scrap metal instruments from them and refurbish them to sell as first-hand instruments. It was essentially daylight robbery in broad daylight.
Nevertheless, as long as these goods could be sold and the other party paid the purchase and transportation fees, Fang Jian would make a significant profit. Yamada Yosuke nodded repeatedly and pledged to handle everything properly.
