Chapter 211: Could you be any more of a beg?
•••
There was still quite a lot of time left for Study of Magical Beasts but Lea decided the students had had enough and ended the class so the students could recuperate from any injuries they may have sustained.
She had Karen lead them out of the forest, waving her hand and showing she could pull back the veil that should have kept the students in, even from a distance.
None of the girls were surprised when Caius was asked to stay back after class. Hell, they probably would have been surprised if he hadn't been asked to hang back due to previous experiences.
Still, Kaya and Eloise hoped he might actually get to join them for Break today since whatever he and the Study of Magical Beasts Professor were always busy with after every class, should be over by the time the double period actually came to an end, allowing Caius to leave.
Before they left, Kaya ran her hands all over Caius's front.
"Tender?" She asked him when he winced at her touch.
"A little," Caius admitted.
Of every student, he had definitely been injured the most because he had engaged the Beast more physically than was required for his data gathering on his Trait Acquisition Potion.
"You should head to the infirmary and have that looked at," Eloise said with care.
Caius and Kaya shared a look.
Unlike Kaya, Eloise was still unaware of Caius's true nature and didn't know an Infirmary's treatment would be useless on him. Unless they had a healing potion refined through Blood Alchemy but by the point and such a reveal, he'd have more to worry about than healing from his injuries.
Kaya gave Caius a pointed look. Like she was taking this moment to ask him why he was still holding back from revealing that part of himself to the amber-eyed beauty looking at him imploringly.
"Yeah, you really should," Delia piped up then.
Caius turned his head and saw her with her arms folded beneath her breasts. She saw the look Caius was giving her and raised a brow.
"What?"
"I'm just touched you care so much for my well-being," Caius said with a little shrug.
Delia scoffed.
"Please," she said, "We have an appointment today. I simply will not accept any excuses not to show up for it."
"Got it," Caius said and nodded a few times before he gave Delia a wink that turned her bronze face quite red. Whether it was in annoyance or embarrassment at his obvious teasing wasn't quite clear but Caius would say it was likely both.
Caius looked at Kaya then and suddenly, her pretty face was pushed backward and the surprised look in her leaf green eyes was the last Caius saw of her expression before she was replaced by the perfect-looking face of Aylin Khione who was so close that her big breasts were pressing against Caius's chest.
"Hey!" Kaya called out from behind Aylin.
Aylin ignored her and placed one hand on the side of Caius's head while her other hand touched lightly against his chest before trailing off to the side and working its way down to touch gingerly against his ribs.
"Caius," she said in a voice that Caius could see was sending pleasurable shivers all over the bodies of boys who had heard her. An embarrassing thing for them since it wasn't even any of their names that had been called.
Still with that voice, Aylin continued with a near sultry smile on her lips,
"Want me to kiss it and make it better?"
Caius opened his mouth but before he could say a thing, Kaya spoke up.
"My gods," she said with a groan, "Could you be any more of a beg?"
Aylin frowned at that and turned her head just slightly to the side to direct her words at Kaya behind her.
"Please Kaya," she said and looked to be trying very hard not to insult her, "I wasn't talking to you."
Aylin turned her eyes to Caius again and flashed him that near-sultry smile of hers.
"So do you?" She asked, "Do you want me to kiss it and make it better?"
Caius couldn't see her but the movement was so intense that he could quite literally feel Kaya's eye roll.
"Is this just a gimmick or do you actually want to heal him?" Kaya asked and sidestepped Aylin's block so she could look at the icy blue-eyed beauty.
"Of course, I do," Aylin answered.
"How?" Kaya asked.
Aylin looked frustrated by the incessant questioning which was why she gritted her teeth and barely moved her lips as she answered still with her attention on Caius.
"Ice can be very versatile," she said and tapped her fingers against Caius's ribs causing a chill to spread over that part of his body.
It didn't feel bad. Far from it actually.
Kaya eyed the action and then laughed.
"You idiot," she said, "You're only going to numb it. That's all your Ice is useful for anyway. Cover the issue and make it look all pretty but dead inside."
Now Aylin couldn't help but look at Kaya directly.
"I know I'd rather lie down on ice than on vines or leaves or whatever the hell it is you do," she said in a snippy voice.
Kaya smiled at a successful attempt at upsetting Aylin.
"And why should I care where you prefer to lie down. So long as it's far away from me, you'll hear no complaints from me."
"Ladies," Caius said, calling for order just as Aylin opened her mouth to retort.
He looked from one of the two to the other like he was waiting for one of them to break the silence he was imploring them to have and when that didn't happen, he gave them both a smile and then gave Eloise a pointed look.
Eloise looked confused for a second and then she understood what Caius meant by the look and started.
"Oh right," she said, "I got it."
Suddenly, she was locking her arms with Kaya and Aylin with her in the middle, and steering the two around to start the walk out of the forest and back to the Academy at large.
Eloise had been charged by Caius to be a peacemaker of sorts with Kaya and Aylin. Caius didn't actually give her step-by-step instructions on what she should do in what situation but in a case like this, Eloise had known she was meant to de-escalate which she did by ironically forcing the two to walk together while making herself their buffer.
"Delia, you coming?" Eloise asked then.
"Coming," Delia answered with her eyes furrowed and looking at Caius before she turned and followed after her friends.
In a few minutes, Caius could no longer hear the sounds of his classmates' footsteps. He turned his eyes to Lea Gilligan whom he was now alone with and was looking through a booklet in her hand.
"You know, with so many of them fighting over you, I'd think you'd have your hands full," Lea said as she snapped the booklet closed and her eyes rolled up to look at Caius as she put it away in one of the pouches on her waist.
"It's not as bad as it looks," Caius said but even he knew that was not exactly truthful. He was unfortunately not paying as much attention to them as he should for reasons such as classes he and they had to take as well as other responsibilities. One of which, for him, was now Alchemy.
Lea nodded.
"I suppose not," she said and then there was a funny look in her eyes as she continued,
"I mean, if you could add my mother into the mix, I doubt you're feeling overwhelmed just yet."
Caius smiled.
"Is that-is that disapproval, I hear?" He asked as he approached the Professor, wincing slightly at how moving accentuated his pain.
Lea still had that funny look on her face and she added on an unreadable smile as she said slowly.
"Disapproval? Maybe.
What would you do if it were?"
