Ascendant Path of a Lustful Vampire

Chapter 188: The Report (2)

Kaya nudged him in the side then.

"Ngh," Caius groaned as the nudge had him lean hard to the side, causing him to tear his eyes away from the ample asset ahead of him and look at her instead.

"Sorry," He told her with a smile, "I got a bit… distracted."

Kaya rolled her eyes.

"Stare all you want," she said, "But don't you think you're in enough trouble as is without getting caught ogling the Professor."

"Nah, I'm sure she'd be flattered," Caius said.

"Caius, I love you but…" Kaya said.

"Oh, you do?" Caius said, raising his brow with a smirk on his lips.

Kaya went red.

"It's just a saying," she hurried to say.

"Oh, so you don't love me?" Caius said with a little pout.

"Not what I meant. I just- just…" Kaya sputtered, scrambling to compose something, anything, that made any iota of sense.

She hadn't reached the point where she was ready to say those three words of 'profound' commitment and certainly didn't want the first time saying it to be in a casual offhand statement.

Even as her mind worked fast and hard, she was still trying to say something and eventually just gave up and let out a very deep and frustrated groan. One that pulled the attention of the entire class to them.

Professor Gilligan raised a brow but didn't comment. She just got back to her lecture.

Kaya looked even redder.

"Relax," Caius told her, "I was only teasing."

"I know that," Kaya said in a very low voice.

She did know that. It just didn't stop her mind from actually giving his silly teasing more deep thought than it probably warranted.

"My goodness, I should probably take care when teasing you next time. I don't think you can take it," Caius said, his lips twitching.

Kaya rolled her eyes at him. She pushed all her agitation aside and although her face was still quite red, she managed to speak in a clear voice.

"What I was trying to say is, not every woman likes to be ogled," she said.

"I know," Caius answered lightly and then grinned a bit wider in that charming devilish fashion of his as he said,

"I just happen to have a sense for when someone wants to be ogled by me."

"And the Professor does?" Kaya asked still in a very low voice and with a head gesture at Anne Gilligan who was now at the front of the class.

"I believe so, yes," Caius said, "Why else would I have written that report?"

"'Cause you're nuts?" Kaya asked and scoffed.

The Report writing had been a class exercise so they had been seated just as they currently were when Caius wrote his. Kaya had glanced at it and what she saw shocked her. She was awed by Caius's sheer audacity and for a while, she was sure Caius was doing it as an unserious joke. That he was not going to submit it. That, when there were only a few minutes left for the writing, he'd actually scribble something serious. But he didn't.

The fact that he seemed to have gotten into trouble didn't at all surprise her.

But WAS he in trouble though? He certainly didn't look like it.

Caius played his role as a student quite well. He paid attention and took notes when it seemed important enough to and would have answered any question had Anne actually tossed him a few. But she didn't.

When the class ended and he started to walk down the aisle for that after-class meeting, Kaya whispered to him,

"Good luck."

"Thank you," Caius said.

He wasn't done talking when Aylin came over, her breasts jiggling with every step she took.

"Hey Caius," she said with a smile on her perfect face and gestured with her head at Kaya whom she made sure not to look at, "I'm sure she's told you the good news."

"Terrible news, you mean," Kaya said and she might have intended it to sound under her breath even though it came out in a conversational tone instead.

"Yes, I heard the news," Caius told Aylin with a smile and a nod, "That's very good of you."

Aylin beamed even more than she already was. She looked like she really wanted to pull Caius into a hug but knew she was still in a period of probation. She was still being watched for any change in her antagonistic character.

On that note, she turned her smile to Kaya and it immediately turned from natural and dazzling to just a tiny bit forced.

"Hey, off to the Cafeteria then?" She asked.

"You go on—" Kaya started to say but Caius placed a hand at the small of her back then and urged her forward until she was side by side with Aylin.

"Why wait? You two should go together," he said.

Kaya threw him a look and then stiffly began to move with Aylin by her side.

He watched them go. Kaya's discomfort was to be expected since she didn't actually want the walk-along but Aylin also being uncomfortable was funny because she had basically asked for it.

Of course, Caius knew she only asked because he was there. She was trying to get some points with him by showing him that she was offering a friendly hand to Kaya. Aylin expected Kaya to reject so she'd 'get the point' from Caius and also not have to walk with someone who annoyed her.

Caius had now thrown a wrench in that plan and 'forced' her to follow through with her offer.

He liked that. He found it amusing. And the fact that the strained walk-together would only last until they were outside the classroom and out of his sight did not dampen his amusement one bit.

He saw Aylin's gal pals walk without their leader but never too far away from her. Like there was some cord connected to her still tied around all their waists.

He waved to Eloise when she waved at him before her and Delia left the classroom and then he was in front of Professor Gilligan who said nothing and just waved her hand at the wall to open the Portal Gate that took them both into her office.

"Sit, Mr. Von Helsing," Anne said with a gesture at the chair in front of her desk as she went and sat in the high-backed one behind it.

"Yes, Professor," Caius answered.

"You are far too at ease," Anne noted as Caius settled into the chair.

"Would you prefer I be uncomfortable, Professor?" Caius asked.

"I would, actually," Anne admitted, "Because I'm uncomfortable. It tips the dynamic a bit in your favor if you're not even though I am."

"Probably tips it even more now that you've admitted it," Caius said.

Anne paused and then she shrugged.

"Maybe," she said, "But I think we should get those out of the way cause it's only going to get more uncomfortable—even for you, I'm sure—when we get to why you're here…"

With that, she flicked her finger and a sheet of paper appeared in her hand from her Storage Ring.

"My report," Caius said.

"Uh Huh," Anne said and adjusted her spectacles on her face and peered at the Report through them,

"Besides the fact that this was not what I asked you to write on, this is a very inappropriate… thing to write and submit to your, Professor."

"Debatable," Caius said.

"The inappropriateness of this is not debatable, Mr. Von Helsing," Anne Gilligan said.

Caius leaned forward and placed his arms on the desk.

"Call me Caius," he said, "And yes, that is debatable but it's also not what I meant. Not all I meant anyway.

What I really meant was that what I wrote is very much in line with the topic you gave."

Anne blinked and then she frowned a little.

"You were to write a Report on a notable historical figure…" Anne said.

"Which is what I did. Aklopis is a Historical figure. You taught about him in the very first class," Caius said.

"I am aware…" Anne began but Caius soon interrupted.

"Yeah, and to write on him, I decided to regale one of his many 'sexcapades' which I knew you would enjoy," Caius said and leaned forward even more with that devilish smile of his as he winked,

"So, tell me, Professor, did it work for you?"
