As Homelander In Multiverse

Chapter 7: Chapter 7: I Am the Guarantee

A-Train's speed was incredible.

From his perspective, the world had become a blur of light and shadow, rushing past him.

By the time Homelander finished his sentence, A-Train had already dashed through several streets.

Cars and pedestrians along the way were either knocked over or killed.

So, when Azu looked down from the sky, he saw chaos unfolding across the streets below.

Cars were either crushed, flipped over, or crashed into nearby storefronts.

The pedestrians fared worse—those hit by A-Train were turned into mangled heaps, leaving pools of blood across the streets.

Just this morning, Homelander had promised the media he'd straighten out The Seven.

Naturally, he couldn't let A-Train run amok now.

Hovering mid-air, Azu locked onto the fast-moving figure below and smiled slightly before flying toward him.

At that moment, A-Train was speeding toward an intersection.

Suddenly, two beams of deep red light shot down from the sky, cutting through the pavement in front of him and blocking his path.

The speedster was forced to stop, his goggles reflecting the image of a blond man in a blue suit, the star-spangled cape fluttering behind him as he slowly descended.

"Look at what you've done."

"You've turned yourself into a supervillain."

"You've become exactly the kind of person we're supposed to stop."

Azu spoke with a pained expression on his face.

A-Train pleaded, "Please, Homelander."

"Don't send me to jail."

Without a second thought, Azu shook his head. "That's not going to happen."

Cursing under his breath, A-Train turned and ran.

Suddenly, he heard Homelander's voice next to him, "Is this the fastest you can go?"

The next moment...

A fist appeared in his goggles, growing larger by the second.

Boom!

The air rippled.

A-Train was sent flying by a single punch.

His goggles shattered.

His nose was broken.

Blood poured down his face.

Crash! He slammed into a parked car, embedding himself in the metal.

But in the next second...

He sprang out of the wreckage, a blur as he charged straight at Azu.

Azu didn't move.

Boom!

The collision shook the street, shattering nearby windows and sending half a dozen cars into the air. The pedestrians were knocked off their feet.

A-Train was thrown back, crashing into the ground, but he quickly rolled over and got up again.

Still not giving up, he changed direction and bolted.

Azu leaned forward slightly and shot off like a rocket, slamming into A-Train and crashing him into a nearby store.

The storefront windows shattered, and the terrified customers inside screamed as they scattered.

Azu floated into the store, watching as A-Train struggled to his feet, gasping for breath.

Compared to the A-Train in the TV show, this one clearly had a stronger body.

After all the collisions, his body still hadn't broken down.

If this were the show's version, A-Train would've turned himself into a smear on the pavement the first time they clashed.

Raising his hand in a gesture of surrender, A-Train gasped, "Listen, I know one of Vought's secrets."

"If you let me go, I'll tell you."

Azu chuckled. "I'm not interested."

A-Train's face twisted in disbelief.

Outside, people hid behind whatever cover they could find, nervously peeking at the clothing store across the street.

Suddenly, a scream rang out as a figure flew out of the store.

A-Train!

Before he even hit the ground, Azu was already there.

With a slight smile, he grabbed A-Train by the chest, delivering a powerful uppercut that sent him soaring into the air.

Azu followed, catching up in mid-air, his eyes glowing with red light.

A-Train's goggles were already shattered.

His eyes filled with panic as he waved his hands desperately, "Wait, wait—"

Before he could finish...

Two beams of red light pierced through his eyes and out the back of his head, leaving two deep holes in the pavement below.

———

Hughie sat on a bench beside his home's lawn.

His father handed him a glass of lemonade.

"Thanks."

Still feeling queasy after throwing up earlier, Hughie took a sip of the lemonade.

Then he asked.

"Do you think Homelander will really punish A-Train?"

The middle-aged man, now in his fifties, remained silent for a moment.

Then he could only manage a wry smile, "I don't know, son."

Just then...

Out of the corner of their eyes, they caught sight of a familiar star-spangled cape fluttering in the breeze.

Hughie stood up.

He saw Homelander, with a smile on his face, carrying A-Train under his arm.

Then, with a casual motion, he tossed the speedster onto the lawn.

A-Train rolled over, lying flat on his back on the grass.

His eye sockets were charred, and through them, you could see the green lawn beneath.

Nearby, the media and reporters swarmed in, surrounding the scene.

They looked in disbelief at the corpse on the ground.

Then at Homelander.

Azu pointed to one of the TV cameras. "Are you live?"

A TV reporter quickly nodded, "Yes, sir."

Azu nodded slightly, flashing his signature smile as he looked into the camera.

"A-Train has been dealt with."

"I hope this serves as a wake-up call to all other superhumans."

"No matter how powerful you are, remember—don't break the law."

"If you do, you'll face justice."

"And I, Homelander, am the guarantee of that justice!"

With those words, Azu shot into the sky, heading back toward The Seven Tower.

---

In a remote yard in the Midwest...

A pretty girl with golden hair and sharp features was lifting a car.

From her headphones, Homelander's voice echoed.

"If you break the law, you will face justice."

"And I am the guarantee!"

Thud, thud.

The girl dropped the car, wiping the sweat from her forehead, "Homelander is so cool. He's definitely my hero!"

Just then, a middle-aged woman stepped out of the house. "Annie, it's time to go."

The girl, Annie, replied cheerfully, "Okay, Mom."

The woman handed her a suit. "Put this on. You'll be the best."

Annie took the suit, asking, "Mom, do you think I can get into The Seven?"

"Of course you can!"

---

In a dimly lit bar, the air was thick with various odors.

Behind the bar, a TV hanging from the ceiling displayed Homelander speaking to the camera.

"I hope this serves as a wake-up call to all other superhumans."

"No matter how powerful you are, remember—don't break the law."

Suddenly, a glass flew across the room and shattered against the TV screen.

The bartender jumped, then turned to the scruffy man at the bar and spread his hands, "Hey, man, what's your problem?"

The man had thick, menacing eyebrows, a full beard, and reeked of alcohol.

He raised his hand.

Pointing at the TV, he growled, "He's full of shit!"

"Homelander breaks the law himself—what can he guarantee?"

The bartender's face darkened, "Get out. We don't serve your kind here."

The bearded man scoffed, stumbling out of his seat.

Before leaving, he shot one last glare at the TV.

Then he pushed the door open and left.
