As Homelander In Multiverse

Chapter 106: Chapter 106: The Courtesy You Should Have

A storm raged on the high platform as wind howled, photographs fluttered, and a god among mortals knelt under the rain. A man achieved his goal, shadows brimmed with rage, and the night was alive with chaos.

Tonight.

A god battles a mortal.

Day confronts night.

The son of Krypton faces Gotham's Dark Knight.

In the storm-lit skies, a streak of blue descended, landing amidst the pouring rain.

Draped in metallic armor with glowing white eyes, Batman spread his hands. "I'm here."

"You wanted to kill me, didn't you? Then come at me."

Clark shook his head. "Bruce, don't do this."

"You need to listen to me. Lex is trying to—"

Before he could finish, ultrasonic devices sprang up from either side, emitting piercing waves that targeted Superman.

Clutching his ears, Clark groaned in pain. Acting swiftly, he grabbed a nearby manhole cover and tore it apart, using each half as a discus to destroy the sound emitters.

But more weapons emerged—automatic turrets that unleashed a hail of bullets. Clark took to the skies, his heat vision cutting through the rain as he obliterated the turrets in seconds.

Meanwhile, behind the scenes, a figure slipped into the abandoned building overlooking the battleground. He approached a weapon embedded in the ground—a Kryptonite spear.

Azul whistled softly, lifting the spear and inspecting its jagged tip.

The green-glowing blade pressed lightly against his fingertip, leaving only the faintest dent in his skin.

"A weapon capable of killing Kryptonians. Even Doomsday couldn't survive it," Azul murmured, grinning. "What a pleasure to finally meet you."

He twirled the spear and glanced toward the ongoing fight outside. Clark burst through the rain, crashing into Batman and sending them both hurtling into the building.

Above, debris shattered and rumbled, the duo's collision dragging them upwards toward the rooftop.

Azul hefted the spear over his shoulder and flew into the storm, his figure rising like an arrow through the night sky.

---

On the rooftop

Batman stood amidst the wreckage of the Bat-Signal, its light extinguished.

Clark growled, "Stop. If I wanted you dead, you already would be."

But Bruce ignored him, pulling out a smoke bomb.

Before he could throw it, a voice resonated above them.

"He's right. Even in that armor, you're no match for him."

Both men looked up.

Through the rain, a figure emerged—a man clad in black, golden patterns etched into his suit, with an abstract "K" emblazoned across his chest. Lightning illuminated his face, making him seem both godlike and ominous.

"You?"

Clark recognized him immediately. He couldn't forget the man who matched him blow for blow in the desert.

Bruce's eyes narrowed, focusing on the Kryptonite spear in Azul's hand. One thing was clear—this man wasn't Kryptonian, or he wouldn't dare wield such a weapon.

"Who are you?" Batman's voice was low, magnetic, and filled with menace.

"Who I am doesn't matter." Azul's lips curled into a smirk. "What matters is this game. Count me in."

He landed gracefully, forming a tense triangle between himself, Batman, and Superman.

Without warning, Batman hurled the smoke bomb at him.

Azul chuckled, a low, rumbling sound, and kicked the bomb aside. It streaked through the air like a comet, vanishing into the stormy night.

Clark lunged at Azul, slamming into him with immense force. The impact sent Azul flying backward, waves rippling through the rooftop as if the air itself had been shattered.

"Stop this!" Clark shouted. "We don't have time for this!"

But Bruce had already taken action, firing a custom-designed Kryptonite round from his gun.

Clark caught the bullet mid-air, but it burst into a cloud of glowing green gas, enveloping him.

Immediately, Clark's body convulsed, his knees buckling. His breath came out in shuddering gasps, tinged with green mist.

Bruce strode toward the weakened Superman, his gaze cold and unyielding.

Before he could act further, Azul returned, slamming into Batman and sending him flying.

Bruce's armored body ricocheted across the rooftop, breaking through a water tank, and finally plummeting over the edge.

Azul's retina flickered with system notifications.

> [Your skill: "Super Strength +2" proficiency is full.]

[Congratulations! Upgraded to "Divine Strength."]

Fighting strong opponents always accelerated his progress. A single clash with Superman earlier that morning had pushed his skill to the brink, and now it had evolved.

Azul felt the newfound power surging through him, as if every cell in his body were brimming with energy. It was intoxicating.

This was the reason he joined the fight—his third objective. Battling the strong honed his abilities, rapidly increasing his proficiency.

As for the Kryptonian ship's master key? That had been intentionally left with Lex.

Azul wanted Doomsday to appear. That would be his feast.

Bruce, meanwhile, had used his grappling hook to swing back onto the rooftop. Seizing a nearby water tower, he launched himself toward Azul with a primal roar, his armored boots aimed at Azul's chest.

Bang!

Even at full strength, Bruce's kick landed like a pebble against Azul's unyielding body.

Azul glanced at him, unimpressed.

"Courtesy. You should have it."

With that, he grabbed Bruce's leg, lifted him like a ragdoll, and slammed him into the rooftop.

Boom!

The force drove Bruce through the rooftop, crashing through multiple floors until he landed in the building's lobby. His impact cratered the ground, sending debris flying.

Smoke rose from Batman's armor, its plating warped and sparking. Inside, Bruce groaned, too injured to move.

---

Elsewhere

Lex Luthor arrived at the Kryptonian ship, carrying General Zod's corpse. Inserting the master key into the console, he activated the ship's systems.

Meanwhile, high above, Lois Lane hovered in a helicopter, watching the rooftop battle. Her eyes widened as she saw Clark struck by a golden energy beam, his body hurtling into a distant skyscraper.

The same golden beam carved through the city, igniting a trail of explosions.

As the flames illuminated the night, Lois saw the figure wielding the Kryptonite spear—a dark silhouette surrounded by hellish light.

Azul looked like a demon risen from the depths, an unholy force destined to bring the world to its knees.
