Chapter 166: Total War

Curly-haired Guy: Damn, Mayuri's really something else.

Doujin Artist: He just went in like that? Is Kenpachi gonna be okay?

Soul Society's Bad Guy: Hard to say. With his current strength, he could probably take on one Sternritter alone. But if more than one shows up, he's in serious trouble.

Skirt-Flipping Maniac: What if he runs into one of Yhwach's four elite guards?

Soul Society's Bad Guy: Then he's dead.

Yhwach gave each of his elite guards a special letter: C, D, M, and X. Every one of them has a crazy power, and they're basically as strong as the Squad Zero members guarding the Soul King's Palace.

Kenpachi's strength only unlocks when he's in a fight to the death. But against guys like that, they won't give him the chance—they'll just finish him off in one shot.

Doujin Artist: Poor Kenpachi… hope he goes out in peace.

Skirt-Flipping Maniac: Does Rukia-chan not like Kenpachi or something?

Doujin Artist: I just don't like him. He killed our lovely Hana.

Soul Society's Scapegoat: Come on, I'm still alive.

Machete Girl: Hana didn't join the fight?

Soul Society's Scapegoat: The Captain-General wanted to prevent the Quincy from doing something crazy, so he left a few of us captains behind to guard Soul Society. Honestly, it wasn't really necessary.

Amegakure Village's Angel: In Anran-san's plan, the Quincy Empire has no future left.

On the screen—

Including Uchiha Madara, the captains each turned the box in their hands and disappeared one after another beyond the White Road Gate. The scene changed, revealing a city that looked like it had been frozen solid.

The style here was clearly different from Soul Society's Japanese look. White marble streets, clock towers, stained glass—everything felt European.

The sky was gray and heavy with fog. No sunlight at all. A thick mist swirled through the air.

Uchiha Madara turned his eyes toward the tall tower in the center, the one rising through the fog. That was where Yhwach lived—Silbern.

Doujin Artist: Damn, this place looks even bleaker than in the manga. Like a frozen ghost town.

Skirt-Flipping Maniac: Yeah. I don't even know how the Quincy manage to live here. No running water, no power, no fun, not even the sun.

Curly-haired Guy: Well, in a weird way, this might be Ari-chan's dreamland.

Doujin Artist: ?

Scarlet Lotus Fairy: What do you mean by that, Gin?

Curly-haired Guy: If she had tried her gacha pulls in a city with this much European vibe, maybe she could've made it through immigration.

Doujin Artist: I'm not from the "Africa" server, damn it! Go to hell!

Pretty Boy from Skull Island: What about those Soul Reaper captains? Did they get separated from Mr. Anran?

"They didn't get separated." Uchiha Madara shook his head and said, "This kind of teleport system is random. Mayuri never entered the shadow dimension before, so he didn't leave a marker here."

Soul Society's Scapegoat: But the surveillance feed he left behind did make it back. He's southwest of here, no enemies nearby.

"Yeah, I already sensed it." Uchiha Madara gave a slight nod. "Aizen is almost at Silbern. Tosen is heading toward him. Soi Fon is in the north. Komamura is southeast. As for Kenpachi…"

Before he could finish, a loud alarm suddenly blared through the shadow dimension.

Uchiha Madara paused, his face blank. "He's already fighting someone."

BOOM—

Explosions rumbled from the plaza beneath Silbern.

Kenpachi Zaraki grinned wildly, cutting down Quincy soldiers left and right. Beside him, Yachiru clapped and cheered. "Go, Kenny! Wipe them all out!"

"Shut up," Kenpachi shot her a glance and growled. "Even if they're all weaklings, cleaning them up is a pain. This is your fault for leading us the wrong way!"

"Picking on a lady isn't very gentlemanly, you know," Yachiru puffed her cheeks in protest.

"Idiot. I never said I was a gentleman," Kenpachi replied, slicing down another soldier who tried to charge him from the side, looking completely unimpressed.

Whoosh.

Just as he finished talking, a flash of white light suddenly shot toward him.

Kenpachi's eyes sharpened. He raised his sword and slashed at the light. With a loud bang, he was pushed back by the force, and his right hand holding the sword trembled slightly.

"Star Knight codename Q—Berenice Gabrielli." A young man with short blond hair, heavy eyeliner, and dark circles under his eyes appeared in front of Kenpachi. "Intruder! State your name!"

"Captain of Squad Eleven, Kenpachi Zaraki." With a wide grin, Kenpachi finally looked pleased. "Looks like someone fun finally showed up."

Without another word, he charged forward, swinging his nicked and battered blade straight at him.

Right now, in front of the throne in Silbern.

Haschwalth, the advisor of the Wandenreich, stood calmly as he looked down at the battle taking place below. He quietly said to himself, "Judging from the movement of the spirit particles… there are eight intruders?"

Though his face showed no panic, he couldn't figure out one thing—how did the Soul Reapers find their hiding place?

According to His Majesty's prophecy before falling asleep, this should've been impossible.

Where did the mistake happen? How much do these Soul Reapers actually know?

Questions filled Haschwalth's mind, but his expression stayed calm. As long as Yamamoto Genryusai Shigekuni—the one even His Majesty feared—wasn't here, these intruders wouldn't be too hard to handle.

Thinking this through, Haschwalth called over his assistant. "Send out the order—have the Royal Guards wipe out all enemies. Also, release the seal on Gremmy. Tell him to come to Silbern and support us."

"Yes, sir," the assistant replied and quickly left.

"Just as I thought."

Right after the assistant left, a soft voice suddenly spoke out, "Seems like you're not that confident. Do you think you can't protect the throne of the Holy Son by yourself?"

Haschwalth snapped his head around, eyes wide. "You're… Aizen Sosuke, captain of Squad Five from the Soul Society?"
