As a Lucifer in DxD

Chapter 83: Pigeon

Third Person PoV

Cain hadn't been to the Grand Duchy of Moscow till now so he didn't directly teleport there.

Instead, he decided to teleport somewhere nearby and fly from there. Cain quickly saw his surroundings and knew he had reached Norway.

Cain was about to fly off before an angel appeared in front of him. He had blonde hair and green eyes, like most of the angels.

He looked rather timid, even scared when he saw Cain.

"Why are you here, waiting for me?"

Cain asked casually, he was planning to go and finally meet up with the legend himself, the Orgy Lord but looks like he might have to postpone it for now.

'Well I would have to wait a little to meet the legend himself, makes sense.'

"Michael-Sama told me to tell you that Gabriel-Sama is waiting for you in the Vatican."

"And? What am I supposed to do, babysit her? You know I might just cause her to fall right?"

Cain teased the little angel. The angel seemed shocked and raised his hands, in a fighting position he said.

"Even if I am weak, I will protect Gabriel-Sama!"

To Cain, the angel looked comedic and he laughed.

"Haha! Just kidding. I will go and see what my aunt wants from me."

Cain said before laughing once more at the confused face of the angel and then teleported just outside of the Vatican, he wouldn't want the church to be made aware would he?

Cain walked through the barrier of a church and saw the priests were busy doing their job.

Cain internally snickered as he passed them. He went inside and sat on the bench and looked at the figure of Christ.

Just for the jokes he closed his eyes and brought his hands to his chest and clasped them.

'Oh lord, forgive me for the sins I will commit!'

He felt the rejection of his plea and laughed internally, after all even though the Heaven system is bugged it is not bugged that a devil's prayers would be accepted.

But just as he opened his eyes, he saw heaven, heaven for every man.

Gabriel was standing Infront of him, her dress for an angel was positively tempting.

"Cain why are you praying, don't increase the workload of Big Brother Michael."

The strongest woman in heaven said with a pout. She didn't see this as something harmful, just a prank.

'Truly, too innocent.' Cain thought mentally.

"Don't worry Gabriel, I wasn't praying."

"Oh, is that so? Then no worries!"

'And she believed me just like that. No wonder she always needs an escort, she might be eaten alive by the cunning world.'

"So why are you here? Gabriel."

"Brother Michael finally allowed me to go and roam the world!"

"Is that so? Well, you are in luck because I know a lot of interesting places."

"Really? Then let's go!"

Gabriel took hold of Cain's hand and dragged him out of the cathedral. Cain had already put up an illusion to hide their true appearance and aura.

It wouldn't do if they were seen together. But he still was surprised at the action of Gabriel.

'She doesn't see me as an evil guy? That ass th-'

*cough*

Cain looked around and saw a suspicious bonded haired green-eyed man cough.

He rolled his eyes and transmitted his voice.

[Really, Michael? Not even an iota of trust?]

[You know your thoughts can be read?]

[They can't, now scram.]

Cain said and teleported with Gabriel in tow.

The two appeared on the peak of a mountain, and the scenery was picturesque, the sun was shining brightly.

There was a river flowing in the valley and the clouds occasionally blocked the sun's rays giving shade to the people.

There was a small village near the foothills of the mountain. People could be seen like dots moving around from the peak.

"Where are we, Cain?"

"Switzerland."

"What? Where is that?"

"Oh, I mean this is the Old Swiss Confederacy."

"So you are also like me, saying things with no meaning sometimes!"

"Well, you can say so."

'I certainly do that a lot, I can't wait till modern times arrive.' Cain internally thought.

"Well, what are you waiting for? There are a lot of animals and beautiful places hidden in this mountain."

Gabriel heard that and began to quickly walk down the mountain and Cain followed her slowly.

The two gradually explored the mountains and found many places, Gabriel enjoyed and played with the animals.

Even the ferocious animals didn't harm her and were gentle with her, Cain didn't have to do much aside from stopping her from getting too curious.

The sun went down and the sky was now dyed orange. The two had finally reached the village.

This was the last part. Just as they entered the village many people looked at them curiously.

Cain shrugged their glances off but Gabriel didn't. She waved her hands and smiled at the people.

Some people snickered seeing that while some hid their children. Gabriel became a bit downcasted seeing that but quickly regained her enthusiasm as the village head approached them.

"May I ask what you want, My Lord?"

The man spoke in a different language but Cain and Gabriel understood it perfectly.

Both were wearing rather expensive-looking clothes, hence the village head misunderstood them for some nobles.

Once or twice a year some nobles would often come here to hunt animals here. Sometimes one of them would separate from their group and venture into the village and wait till his companions took them.

Thus the village head was rather used to the nobles.

"Nothing, we were just looking around. Don't worry we will go back after a while. Although it would be great if you could offer some food."

Cain said fluently, his accent like the nobles around here, silver tongue was a really useful ability in such cases.

The village head nodded and went away. Gabriel and Cain walked around the village for a while.

Soon they sat and enjoyed the cuisine. Cain could see that what he was eating was a rudimentary form of modern Swiss cuisine with some wine.

They were quite far away from the village and a little patch of forest was between them and the village.

They were sitting on some logs that had fallen and eating.

"Let me drink it too!"

"No."

Cain said and drank her cup in a single gulp. Gabriel pouted and looked at the little girl who was holding the wine and asked her.

"Pour me some more!"

Cain simply glared at her and she shrinked back. Gabriel pouted even more at that and began to eat her food ignoring Cain.

"I am going to tell Brother Michael about this."

She muttered quietly. Cain only lightly laughed at that. Soon they finished and began to walk back.

"Ouch!"

The girl behind them exclaimed, the two looked back to see that she had accidentally stepped on a sharp rock and hurt her feet.

Gabriel immediately went near and crouched while healing her quickly. But that was a mistake, as the girl ran away while screaming.

"Witch!"

Gabriel became sad at that while Cain sighed.

"What do we do now Cain? Why was she screaming?"

"Gabriel remembers this in the future, not all people are worthy of kindness."

"Why?"

It was a simple question, but Cain had no answer to it.

"Ask Michael, he would know better. This time the outing ends now, I will be teleporting you back."

"Okay, don't harm the villagers. Bye!"

Gabriel said as her figure vanished into the magic circle.

"Not possible Gabriel."

Cain said, a little regretful that he didn't stop her from healing the girl. If he simply left the place, the rumors from here would spread rapidly, like wildfire and multiple witch hunts would start.

People would begin to burn innocent people in their ignorance. Even though Cain couldn't care less about the consequences, Michael would.

A sudden influx of souls just after he and Gabriel went on an outing? That was just asking for a misunderstanding.

Even if Michael understood the situation, Gabriel would be sad seeing so many people die just because she healed a girl.

Cain looked at the direction the girl ran and waved his hand.

"No!"

That was the last thing that came from the forest before it went eerily silent. Cain left after that.

Soon after a group of people came near the forest and found the girl, or more accurately her corpse.

Her skin was blue and there was a bite mark near her ankle. The village mourned for her and soon they went back to create her.

None of them remembered the nobles that came here today. Neither any traces of them were present there.

Cain was flying towards the Grand Duchy of Moscow. He had to check quite a few taverns after all.

Michael didn't explicitly state which one the Fallen angel would visit, it was to keep some spice in the process.

Cain didn't mind it. It was a novel experience seeing the variety of drinks and people in a single Duchy.

But his mind was filled with other thoughts, he was a leader, and even though he ignored most of his jobs and left the paperwork to his maid, doesn't mean he lived in ignorance.

Currently, his main focus was his peerage, Hell was relatively stable, and no one was going to call him up for the peerage ceremony.

Serafall and Ajuka were favorites for that. Falbium was in the same category as him.

The inter-patheon relationships were also going nicely. He was planning a trip to Japan, and it would probably end well for him.

It mostly did well for him anyway, other-s misfortune was not that great a matter to him.

Finally, he found the tavern at which Azazel came frequently. This was the 23rd tavern he visited.

By now he had drunk enough to put a village to sleep, but he didn't feel any of that, rather than feeling downcasted he was in a good mood.

"Should I wait here or put up a barrier to remind me when he comes here?"

Cain said to himself, but decided to wait, Azazel although was easygoing on the surface, he was a cautious guy.

He probably would turn back if he sensed Cain's barrier. Thus Cain sat down and began to drink, money was not a problem for him.

Rather the owner might be in trouble, whether he had enough wine or not.

"Today's drink is on me! Drink till you drop!"

Cain said while throwing a huge bag of coins towards the counter, immediately the tavern became noisy.

"Hell Yeah!"

"My wife's ain't gonna stay awake tonight!"

Cain had drunk a lot, it was nearly midnight, and almost everyone aside from him and the tavern owner were dead drunk.

Cain couldn't get drunk with low-quality stuff, while the owner wasn't drinking. Although it was a huge surprise to Cain that this tavern had such a huge stock of drinks.

"One more jug!" Cain said, purposely acting drunk. His voice slurry and loud, he banged his empty cup on the counter.

"I'm sorry, lad. But I need to keep my remaining drinks for a regular guy!"

Cain's mind instantly knew today he was going to meet with the Orgy Lord. He then acted like he was about to fall asleep and hurled a few slangs in the local language.

Just then the doors of the tavern opened and a tall man appearing to be in his twenties with an average build, black hair, golden bangs, and a black goatee, walked in.

He looked surprised seeing Cain here and sighed, seemingly making up his mind.

He came and sat beside Cain and said.

"Bring only two jugs, old man, today I have brought the drink!"

Cain instantly sobered up and said.

"Finally something worth drinking!"

Azazel only smiled mysteriously at that.
