Arius' Adventures in DC
Chapter 06: I'm not into chokeplay…
-Arius-
Arius landed hard in the crater, his chest heaving, rage drowning his mind as raw power coursed through his veins. He felt weight in his hand and looked down, registering the form of a woman, a fierce-looking warrior who had somehow ended up laying on him and he realized she must have been what prevented him from Darkseid.
Her powerful blue eyes met his golden gaze with a flash of fear, quickly masked by defiance. She didn't seem to flinch as his gaze hardened, so he assessed her as another enemy and grabbed her by the throat, squeezing and watching her start to squirm.
Wonder Woman struggled, her hands prying at his iron grip as she tried to claw her way to a breath. Honestly it was cathartic even for the simple minded Arius as he at least got his hands on another one of Darkseid's minions, but something tugged at his awareness beneath the fury making him hesitate to fully close his fist and end the life of the woman in his grasp.
Her scent hit him subtly but distinctly, a mix of battle and something sweet, a warm, natural fragrance that didn't match the musk that clung to the minions of Darkseid or the Incarnation of Dry Skin himself.
So ee loosened his grip, suddenly unsure why she felt so different from the foes he'd fought before. For a split second, he saw her differently and replayed the scene within his mind of Darkseid throwing her away and mixed with her scent clued him in even in his simply minded state that she most likely wasn't with the ugly burnt ballsack.
Thus with a dismissive scoff Arius released her, watching as she tumbled backward into the dirt, eyes wide as she caught her breath holding her own neck in relief. Turning his back to her, he returned to the place where he'd just been launched from, where the boom tube had sealed shut cutting him off from the one who'd dared to anger him.
Like last time in frustration Arius' power absolutely skyrocketed and beyond the never ending green aura that surrounded him in his enraged his hair flashed gold briefly and with a roar that shook the earth beneath his feet, Arius released his anger into the sky.
The force exploded outward in a massive raw blast of Ki that burned through the atmosphere, a streak of green light piercing the stars. The very fabric of reality quivered, the residual damage from his earlier rage adding strain to the weakened space. He could feel the energy slipping from his body as his fury took on a life of its own, amplifying the raw power until even space itself buckled.
Then, a shimmer. A crack where the boom tube had sealed itself. With barely a thought, Arius forced his fist through, wrenching the portal back into existence. But this makeshift portal wasn't like the calculated entry he'd used before with the boomtube setting the blueprints for the portal. This time he tore at it wildly with energy pouring off him as the universe itself fought to stabilize by absorbing and even draining the energy of Arius.
Wonder Woman, still catching her breath, had barely registered his intentions before the portal ripped open again, a feral, unstable tear that nearly threw her off her feet. She followed, instinct compelling her to keep pace with this strange, powerful warrior even as her heart pounded with trepidation.
Back on Earth, in the midst of the Justice League's desperate struggle, a dark portal ruptured open once more, and Arius emerged, eyes blazing with fury, his entire body radiating unchecked power. Wonder Woman appeared a moment later, looking stunned but determined as she followed behind him.
Darkseid's face contorted into a look of utter disbelief and fury, recognizing Arius as the same force of devastation that had nearly destroyed him on Vyragos. "You—" Darkseid's voice seethed with fury as he turned to face the Saiyan Darkseid's eyes blazing with Omega energy.
Arius barely holding onto his simple thoughts and nearly slipping into a mindless state once more stepped forward, his voice a low growl.
"Darkseid... I already said you won't escape me again."
-Wonder Woman-
Wonder Woman's mind reeled as she landed, the force of Darkseid's throw dulled by a strange, solid impact beneath her. Disoriented, she found herself straddling a muscular figure beneath her, a man. As she glanced down, her eyes met the twisted, furious face of Arius, she'd only just witnessed from a distance and smashed against his muscular and sturdy body.
She been thrown into and hit with many things in her life, but being thrown into the body of Arius she felt a sting at the back of her head and barely registered his features before his hand shot up, grasping her throat with an iron grip, his gaze wild and unseeing, as if she was merely an obstacle in his path.
She fought back pushing against his arm, but his strength was incomprehensible. Her heart pounded in her chest, fear slowly clawing its way through her warrior spirit as his vice-like hold held her in place with an ease she had rarely encountered.
Arius loomed over her, eyes blazing with a fury beyond mortal rage, and she felt her resolve strengthen, but just as his grip began to tighten further, his face suddenly paused, nostrils flaring as he took in her scent, his expression shifting from murderous fury to something far more animalistic. And for the first time in her life she felt true fear and Diana's heart skipped a beat.
Her mind raced, flashes of myths and stories filling her vision, recalling horrors like Heracles's ancient siege on Themyscira. It could have been considered passed down trauma from the stories that made her react the way she did as she violently flinched back as she stared at the behemoth of a man who seemed slightly larger than when she first saw him.
Her mind racing a mile a minute as she thought about what was to come and trying to gather courage to face it no matter what, but things didn't turn out as she expected and for the first time in her life she went from genuinely terrified to her utter shock as he released her tossing her aside like a dirty laundry.
She laid where she fell, watching him from the ground as he turned away, his rage filled expression pivoting back to the location of where the portal was, he seemed to only have one thought in mind, fury rekindled as he stared at the space Darkseid had closed the boom tube.
Wonder Woman couldn't tear her gaze from him, even as the sheer magnitude of his power swelled around him, shaking the ground beneath her feet. Then with a roar Arius unleashed a mouth blast so devastating it seared the sky itself, the intense energy scorching the very air as the beam tore off into the cosmos.
Astonished, Wonder Woman quickly got to her feet, her thoughts spinning. The sheer, unrestrained power of this man. It was unlike anything she'd ever seen. Even Darkseid himself had shown wariness toward him and she had seen for herself why.
She had faced gods, creatures of legend, and now an intergalactic tyrant, yet the primal rage of this being felt even more daunting. If they were trapped together on Vyragos… It might not happen now, but with one as barbaric as the man portrayed himself and Diana's obvious appeal it was only a matter of time before his rage at Darkseid faded and he turned his attention elsewhere.
But before despair could settle in once more, her hope along with shock was rekindled by the sight of Arius tearing open space itself, ripping through dimensions with his bare hands as if it were mere fabric. It was a feat even her own gods would tremble to witness. The other side showing the raging battle of Darkseid going blow for blow with Superman and the man quickly went through.
Without hesitation, she followed him through the opening, feeling the rush of familiar energy as they stepped back onto Earth. She landed firmly beside him, her mind steeling itself as she prepared to confront the battle ahead, still reeling at the impossible strength of her unlikely ally?
She still was questioning if he was on their side, but the enemy of thy enemy is your ally, a term used through history and one she hoped to use now.
-Superman-
Superman gritted his teeth as he traded blows with Darkseid, his focus wavering for a moment as his mind drifted to Wonder Woman. She'd been sent across the universe with a being so powerful that it actually made Darkseid hesitate.
The man who Diana was stuck with stretched space itself, his fury like an unchecked wildfire. So Superman fought harder, fueled by worry for his friend. With Steppenwolf dead that only left one major threat beyond the other two generals, so ff he could incapacitate Darkseid then Cyborg might be able to open a boom tube to Vyragos and he could rescue Diana while the others took down Big Barda and Gilotina.
Punching Darkseid in the face hard enough to send the Evil God tumbling back with a split lip. The most damage he'd done all day as he started to hold back less. The result spoke for themselves as his tactical telekinesis lost some of its power sending shockwaves through the battle field and causing some already damaged buildings to collapse.
Darkseid simply smiled while looking at him licking his lips before spitting out blood. "If only you used your strength earlier then maybe you would have been able to save the millions of humans who are dead."
The infuriating look combined with the loss of an ally and the taunting words set off the Man of Steel slightly as he rushed in with renewed confidence after having made the New God bleed cocking his arm back he held back even less hoping to knock Darkseid unconscious with what many would dub a 'Superman Punch'.
Yet for all the strength Superman possessed he wasn't very experienced with wielding it fully and had even less experience in fighting techniques always having been superior to his enemies. So when Darkseid parried the punch Superman lacked a follow-up that left him open to a counterattack which the millennium New God took.
Grabbing him by the cape and swinging him around constantly smashing him into the floor, and as he let go Darkseid went for a curb stomp that would have put Superman out of commission, but a red blur passed by at the last moment.
"Almost lost you there Big Blue, watch out and I'll be back." The Flash said, getting a nod from the bleeding Kryptonian before speeding away to evacuate more people from Metropolis and rescue others from the Parademons trying to kidnap them.
The Last Son of Krypton turned to Darkseid who was simply standing there smirking to taunt him once more. "Honestly losing you cool so easily its no wonder you were unable to save your ally and why she is most likely being killed or raped by that beast Arius." Darkseid said with a laugh launching an Omega beam at Aquaman who was trying to flank the New God sending the fishman flying only his trident keeping him from tanking the beams directly.
Taking a breath Superman realized that Darkseid was most likely trying to bait him into making mistakes and hoped to end the battle soon. Having said that, he also wanted to end the fight soon to rescue his comrade, so he blitzed towards Darksied once more but this time got into a grappling match with the Evil God hoping his fellow league members could interfere and give him the advantage, but things never went as planned.
The sky suddenly split with a horrendous tearing sound. Both he and Darkseid turned to see a rift in space forming and from it Arius emerged. Superman's heart dropped and he felt weak in the knees at the appearance of Arius, his mind jumping to the worst before Wonder Woman emerged just before the tear in space closed landing besides Arius, who was clearly still in his furious state. Diana looked cautious, but she stood firm, an Amazon warrior through and through.
Meanwhile, Arius' eyes locked onto Darkseid, the same consuming rage flaring up in him. Before Superman could react preoccupied with scanning Diana with his X-ray vision checking for injuries. Arius charged, brushing him aside with a brutal swipe that sent him flying. Superman barely managed to catch himself in the air, watching as Arius grappled Darkseid with a wild, gleeful intensity.
"I told you," Arius growled, his voice a thunderous promise, "you won't get away this time." With that, he launched both himself and Darkseid high above the ground, his energy building as he prepared to unleash a devastating blast.
Superman saw Darkseid struggling, firing Omega Beams in a futile attempt to free himself, the beams scorching Arius but barely slowing him down. Realizing the kind of destruction Arius could cause, Superman's heart clenched. 'If Arius slams himself and Darkseid into the Earth at that speed the casualties could be catastrophic.' he thought.
Without another moment's hesitation, Superman shot upward, tackling Arius and sending himself and the Saiyan higher into the sky as Darkseid, now free, took the opportunity to regain his bearings.
"Please! Stop!" Superman shouted, his tone firm yet pleading. "You're going to hurt millions of people! You have the strength to take Darkseid away! I'll help you!"
And perhaps if Arius was still human or his mind had critical thinking skills the plea would have stirred something, but he wasn't listening. So in a fit of fury at being denied Darkseid like many times before Arius grabbed the Man of Steel by the cape and pulled him off before hurling Superman back down to Earth with such force that the impact should have caused Earthquakes and Tsunamis but only left a small crater, thanks only to Superman's own restraint.
'I really need to make the cape detachable.' Superman thought as the Man of Steel scrambled back to his feet, he caught sight of a green energy beam hurtling toward him. In a flash, Superman countered with his heat vision and it worked for a second before the beam clash went in Arius' favor as it was like trying to hold back a dam with a matchstick.
The sheer power of Arius' Ki was something else entirely, something terrifying and just as he was starting to lose ground, Wonder Woman appeared beside him, crossing her arms to block the Ki blast, her Gauntlets of Submission holding against the assault. Superman felt a surge of relief as she absorbed the blow, her resolve unwavering.
"Hang on, Double W, Big Blue! I got this!" shouted Green Lantern from behind. A giant, green baseball bat materialized as it swung through the air, catching Arius off guard and sending him flying in the distant mountain range. "Homerun!" Hal Jordan yelled, his cocky grin a rare glimmer of levity amidst the chaos.
But Darkseid, ruthless and opportunistic as ever, launched himself after Arius, aiming to exploit the Saiyan's distraction. Superman's mind raced as he saw the danger multiplying. He knew they couldn't let this battle continue on Earth, where every clash threatened innocent lives.
Superman turned to Batman, his expression resolute. "We need to minimize damage caused but those two and If anyone can come up with a more permanent solution, it's you." Batman gave a curt nod already lost in thought coming up with plans from angles that even his Kryptonian brain wouldn't think of.
Wonder Woman stepped forward, her expression softer, yet determined. "I'll help," she said, her voice carrying a calm strength. "There's a chance I can communicate with him if he wins against Darkseid. I prayed and the Goddess Artemis answered by temporarily granting me her Divinity of Nature for this purpose. I have to believe that somewhere in there is someone who can hear reason. He seemed to have intelligence lowered by rage at Darkseid."
Superman nodded, deeply grateful for her steady resolve and the Olympians' help though he would have preferred if they came out and helped in person, beggar can't be choosers. As he prepared himself to rejoin the fray, he felt the weight of the situation like never before.
They were fighting not just to defeat Darkseid, but to prevent an even greater destruction from Arius' unchecked wrath. He only hoped their combined efforts, and Wonder Woman's faith, would be enough to keep Earth safe from the chaos unleashed before them.
"Superman, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern will interfere in the battle with the intentions to limit damage even further keep them off the ground and if they fall try and keep them from falling hard. And whatever race Arius is, it isn't human and he isn't concerned about the planet, so be cautious and don't expect him to be on our side just because he's fighting Darkseid." Bruce said fidgeting slightly and Superman could see and hear Batman's heartbeat racing though the Dark Knight kept a calm exterior.
"I also doubt Darkseid will hold back against Arius to keep the planet intact to find whatever he's looking for. So in the meantime Flash, Cyborg, Aquaman and I will try to limit casualties and collateral damage. While also trying to figure out a way to send them back to their own planets." Batman finished before grappling away after giving orders, the others simply agreeing.
-Arius-
Being launched away by a giant green baseball bat was a novel experience that had he been more conscious of his thoughts would have been hilarious and probably will still be hilarious in hindsight. Honestly even now it brought a small amount of joy to him mainly because the attack did no damage beyond launching him away.
Since he was a human in his first life and still considers himself rather fond of his previous race, he should be proud at the fact that he was launched away from any human civilization, so that he would do less damage.
But any positive feelings he was experiencing were overshadowed by the unyielding rage of constantly being teased by the universe itself whenever he was fighting Darkseid.
"RAGHHHHHH!!!!" Arius felt his already simple mind slip as the aura around him took on a more golden hue before shifting back to the pure green as he finally caught himself in the air and the power exploded off him.
The dark clouds themselves were blown away letting the sun shine through for the first time since he arrived on Earth, but even then with the size of Arius' aura at the moment the sunlight was refracting through it and gaining its a green hue making the scene looked rather foreboding as everything the light touch was bathed in his color.
As Arius went to launch himself back to the Metropolis he tried to lock onto Darkseid's energy signature, but as he was searching for it he realized too late that the man himself was sneaking up behind him and soon Arius found himself plummeting towards the ground at a sourcing speed cratering the Earth and sending a shockwave through the ground as a non-stop Omega beam hit him in the chest pushing
As he went to counter with his own Ki beams the Omega Beams themselves turned last second avoiding the beam clash and raced up hitting him in the face and scorching Arius' eyes.
Pain mixed with the anger he felt at the moment and Arius' conscious mind came out to hurl an insult, "MotherFucker, Darkseid! I'm going to rip your eyes out! Eat them and turn you into a living puppet!" He yelled, clutching his eyes in pain at the despicable move by Darkseid, but he was someone who called themselves evil, so he wasn't above using dirty tactics.
"Talk is cheap bug, now face the might of Darkseid!" The twin of a camel's scrotum said, punching him in the gut sending him flying into a mountain with enough force to cause an avalanche burying Arius underneath hundreds of tons of stone.
As he relaxed and tried slipping back into his enraged state Arius realized something that was startling. There was a wall blocking him from accessing more power, but the power that he's currently wielding didn't drop.
He was now fully conscious and had full control without being reduced to the intelligence of an animal or his slightly more intelligent state of basic thought. Arius truly had access to power that seemed limitless. Even now he could feel the ocean of power inside him waiting to be unleashed, but even now it was impossible to unleash it fully.
It would be like trying to push an ocean through a water hose, because even his body had limits and he finally discovered them. It seems he would need to train his body more to expand the amount the hose could funnel. That only led to one question. If he had fully access to so much power at the moment, then what was that wall he felt when trying to access more?
Nevertheless while Arius was having an internal monologue the outside world didn't pause for him as an Omega Beam shot through the rocks and forced him even deeper into the Earth quickly going miles deep.
'God fucking damn it! That burnt vienna sausage really doesn't let me think.' Arius thought crossing his arms 'and my vision isn't coming back as fast as I want.'
Why was he struggling more now with a conscious mind than before? Everything from sensing to deflecting Omega Beams and empowering himself seemed more natural. As he contemplated his mind, he realized that now wasn't the moment for thoughts and contemplations only actions.
So he surged forth bringing up the well of power to launch a Ki beam from his mouth driving the Omega Beam back and launching himself back to the surface trying to use his Ki sense to locate Darkseid. He need to take the initiative and was going to do so even without being able to see properly. Halfway to the surface he realized that the beam clash he was having lacked resistance, so he stopped his Ki beam and surfaced after a couple more seconds.
And after a quick scan he found the Evil God, but it seemed he wasn't alone, the Justice League was there with Darkseid, most likely fighting them. Superman's energy being next to Darkseid's. With Wonder Woman constantly swooping in from side to side indicating that she was doing hit and run tactics to distract Darkseid while the New Gods fought Superman.
"Hey there big guy. Uhh please don't eat me, the one you want to clobber is down there." A voice Arius heard sounded out from the air behind him, it was the same one he heard before being hit away with a baseball bat and with context clues Arius knew who was speaking to him.
"Shut up and stay out of my way, you overgrown firefly." The Saiyan said to Green Lantern none too amused at the fact that he was blinded after losing track of Darkseid caused by him being hit away by the Green Lantern.
"Did you just insult me?" Hal Jordan asked himself though no one was there to answer as Superman and Wonder Woman were currently jumping Darkseid with Arius bolting in their direction.
Speaking of the Saiyan he quickly arrived in front of the three fighting though his vision had returned slightly seeing vague outlines with his vision returning slowly already being able to see shapes.
"Stay out of my way." Was all he said before launching himself even faster and grabbing a distracted Darkseid by the face dragging the man along the ground all the way back to where he had been thrown into the mountain and threw the Evil God into the same location before flying up and unleashing a barrage of Ki blasts.
*BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM*
It sounded as if hydrogen bombs were going off multiple times a second as Arius truly bombarded the area with Ki blasts and with a fully conscious mind he could concentrate on the detonation of said Ki beams trying not to cause much collateral damage alas his control was perfect and neither was his aim, so the ground shook violently.
"STOP!" The voice of Superman sounded out and Arius was able to hear it over the explosions, but chose to ignore it as he'd choose his revenge over mercy any day of the week. He knew he was probably causing damage across the world even just fighting here, but like he decided earlier. Letting Darkseid even breath in the same universe as him while his mother didn't was simply unacceptable.
"Screw off. I'm killing that bastard once and for all today! AND THIS TIME HE WON'T GET AWAY!!!" The Saiyan responded pausing his barrage before firing a massive beam from his mouth that seemed to have enough power to destroy the planet, but as he had practiced before and now with a rational mind he was able to adjusted the beam, concentrating it into one point focusing on penetration rather then pure destruction as he aimed at where he sensed Darksied his vision still cloudy.
But for the nth time it was prevented from striking true as the Amazon Princess herself stepped up to the plate tanking the blow with her gauntlets once more and at this point Arius was reaching his breaking point and had he been in different state of mind he would have simply killed all the members of the Justice League.
"God fucking damnit you old geezer I swear your making this shit happen on purpose." Arius muttered, directing his insult to the one who reincarnated him. "Wonder Woman don't think just because I didn't kill you earlier means that I won't kill you now. You have three seconds to move."
"So you are capable of communication." Diana says with a smile on her face giving Superman and nod of the head to indicate that he should tell Arius something.
"Please Arius work with us here. The planet is a stake and if that beam hit it could have destabilized the Earth's core." Superman explained hoping to lower my frustration at the situation, but at the moment it just seemed like an excuse as Arius knew it would have simply gone straight through the Earth and caused minimal damage.
"It wouldn't have because that beam wasn't designed to detonate, it was straight penetration and would have simply gone straight through no problem." Arius explained feeling frustrated and as was still concentrating with his Ki sense he noticed subtle movement that he didn't act on for some petty revenge he grabbed Superman by neck throwing him in the opposite direction of Wonder Woman as the New God himself snuck attacked Wonder Woman who was focusing on the Saiyan.
Darkseid landed a devastating blow to the back of Wonder Woman knocking the wind out of her and probably damaged something the way Arius heard Diana's back crack. After the devastating blow Darkseid grabbed and held her by the back of her head, keeping the Amazon from being launched in the same direction as Superman.
"Truly you talk too much." The New God says with a smile on his face that made Arius want to punch it, but he held off waiting for the perfect moment he could tell was approaching.
Arius responded, "You shouldn't be talking at all, but the universe itself probably blessed you to have the vitality and luck of a cockroach." The comment made Green Lantern crack a grin that the Saiyan caught, but his face quickly went back to worried as he was looking for an opportunity to free his fellow Justice League member.
"You are too cocky for som-", Darkseid went to try and anger Arius the same way he did Superman earlier, but the Saiyan himself cut off Darkseid, not letting the New God finish.
"Green Lantern I already said it once, don't interfere. That means don't speak unless spoken to, don't even breathe in our direction, simply stand there and watch or after this is over I'll be paying you a visit on Oa." Arius announced launching a ball of Ki in his direction as the Green Lantern was trying to sneak up on Darkseid to free Wonder Woman and honestly at this point it was confusing the Saiyan at all the sneak attacks from both Darkseid and the Justice League and he didn't want the Green Lantern to ruin his plan.
"What the-!" was all the Green Lantern said as he dodged out of the way the Ki ball zooming by him and exploding in the distance sending a shockwave that hit them seconds later.
" (*o*) " Green Lantern.
"I don't like being interrupted." Darkseid said in a dry tone unimpressed at the causal display of power that Arius just showed having experienced it himself.
"Then do less talking and more fighting, you coward." Arius said, feeling his vision clearing up fully and getting ready to attack.
"I could say the same, but you haven't attacked me even though you normally charge in with all the grace of a bull." The New God said with a smirk as if he caught onto something and Arius decided to play along to buy himself some more time and simply stayed silent.
"Hn it seems I'm onto something… Is it because of this fleshbag?" The tyrant of Apokolips says waving around Wonder Woman's body. "You would have attacked anyone else had they blocked the energy beam you shot at me earlier, but you simply gave her a warning, haha."
Honestly that comment made Arius want to laugh as he simply didn't want to antagonize the Justice League anymore then he already had knowing they would probably interfere in his battle once more and he wanted to use her as an excuse to buy time, but it was almost time because Arius just thought of a decent enough plan.
"And if it is?" he replied with a grim look though internally he was slightly concerned for the heroine he was mainly cheering as his vision fully returned and with the ability to aim beyond Ki sense he started to charge up another Ki beam.
"I wonder why?" The New God said in contemplation as if he was trying to solve the world's greatest mystery which seemed rather strange to Aius as he hadn't pegged Darkseid as such a talker.
"Couldn't it be because I find her attractive?" He responded while trying to figure out Darkseid's plan not wanting to be caught off guard once more.
"Or perhaps you're stretching this moment out to recover from the ass beating I gave you." Arius guessed getting ready to attack as he fully recovered and didn't want whatever Darkseid was planning to come to fruition.
"Hmph impuden-" The New God began, but was interrupted once more though this time it was by someone else.
"He's buying time for his Army and Generals to arrive, so he won't have to face all of us at the same time. Also it wasn't very nice throwing me away." A voice came from behind Arius and without turning around he knew it was Superman and knowing it was the big blue boy scout himself he didn't bother worrying about getting sneak attacked once more.
"Then don't touch me, because even if I've been stuck on a planet for years doesn't mean I'm craving someone to touch that badly. I still very much don't swing that way. Which direction are they coming from though?" Arius asked, flying next to the Man of Steel himself.
"From the East about nine hundred miles out." Superman said pointing east.
"Hmmmm. I see." Arius responded contemplating slightly while looking in the direction that Superman was pointing, sensing two energies that were strong enough to be generals followed by millions of smaller ones which he assumed were the army.
And if Superman voiced his thoughts he would say 'You have super vision too' , but alas he didn't and was caught off guard again.
"Go deal with them or keep them busy. I'll take care of things here." Arius said to the Kyptonian who he launched in the direction of the incoming enemy reinforcements hoping to keep him busy as he planned to kill Darkseid and knew the Big Blue Boyscout himself wasn't very fond of killing.
Turning back to Darkseid he smiled, "Soooo, I appreciate you waiting. Now if you don't mind please die." he said before launching the thin beam of Ki from his mouth aiming for Darkseid's head, but it wouldn't be that easy to catch the Evil God off guard as he moved the body of Wonder Woman in the way as she went from trying to pry out of Darkseid's hold to deflecting the beam with her gauntlets.
Knowing something so simple wouldn't take out Darkseid, Arius followed up immediately charging at them both planning to hit away Wonder Woman like he did with Superman earlier, but again the Evil God predicted his movements once more and while he allowed Arius to launch away Wonder Woman with Green Lantern catching her in a giant green baseball mitt.
The New God used the attack of Arius to mask his true intention as he parried the incoming punch from Arius and slipped to his open side and revealed what he snatched from the Amazon as she was hit away by the Saiyan. The Lasso of Truth which the New God was proficient in using as he showed masterful skill instantly wrapping it around the neck of Arius.
The Saiyan quickly went to try and grasp at the lasso, but Darkseid's grasp was unrelenting, his hulking form towering over the new areas as the Lasso of Truth dug into the Saiyan's neck. Wonder Woman's sacred weapon had been turned against him and its mysticals strength suppressed his raw strength.
His struggles soon turned primal and desperate, his hands clawing at the Lasso, but no avail as it remained taught and ungiving. Behind him in a low rumble of triumph. "You were strong, Saiyan," Darkside mocked, "but even strength has its limits and your story ends here like all the others who defy the Mighty Darkseid."
'Did he just refer to himself in the third person?' Arius' vision blurred, his thoughts clouded by frustration and rage. The weight of failure crushed his mind, the missed chances to kill Darkseid because of the constant interferences and the failure to protect the lives of those he cared about.
His breath grew shallow, his consciousness teetering on the edge and then as his life flashed before his eyes a memory broke through the haze. His first life was as ordinary as it could get save for the rather barebones social life and lack of family that really showed him how alone he truly was, but what followed was the memories of Kara. From their first meeting to their last. She truly was his mother and her death was the largest source of regret.
Her death caused sorrow that was overwhelming, but the rage of that memory had built the foundation on which he drew strength and even now in a moment of weakness it was helping weaken the wall he felt before. Arius truly didn't know what lay beyond worrying that he truly would lose his mind once more, but his resolve surged and the wall began to crumble, his aura began to shift green with gold around violently erupting waves that made Darkseid's grip falter.
Dark clouds gathered above once more this time and with the deafening roar Arius broke through his limits, transforming into a Super Saiyan, his hair spiked up glowing golden with streaks of green and his body radiated powers so dense that even Darkseid, the Lord of Apokolips, staggered back.
Arius' newfound strength rendered Darkseid's Omega Beams ineffective, the searing blasts colliding against his back and dispersing harmlessly.
Darkseid's expression turned grim. He tightened his grip on the lasso, but as he did so Arius jerked his head forward, creating enough slack to take a quick breath and with a quick burst of speed Arius forced his hand between the lasso and his neck, wrenching it free.
As the lasso slipped over his head freeing him, Arius turned his glowing eyes locked onto Darkseid's retreating form. "Nothing is going to save you this time." he growled, his voice thick with power and fury. Liquid confidence poured into him as he truly felt invincible at the moment.
In an instant, Arius blitzed Darkseid, his speed and ferocity overwhelming the New God. Darkseid attempted to counter once again with a punch, but Arius side stepped it with ease, driving his hands straight through Darkseid's chest. The force of the blow echoed like thunder and the battlefield fell silent as Darkseid's blood spilt onto the ground.
The Saiyan pulled his hand free letting Darkseid collapse his knees. Arius, breathing heavily, dropped out of his Super Saiyan form as it massively drained his stamina, but retained his enhanced Legendary power. He stared down at Darkseid with cold, calculating eyes.
Taking no chances, he drove his thumb into Darkseid's eyes, blinding him permanently and rendering the New Gods Omega Beams useless. Darkseid roared in pain, his voice booming across the desolate ruins that mirrored the battlefield on Vyragos. Arius stood over him, a satisfied smirk growling on his lips as he spoke with mocking disdain, "Any last words you oversize cockroach."
Darkseid's voice rasped weak yet defiant. "This is not the end, I will return in my true form and when I do, you will die. For now enjoy my farewell present." he promised and it sent alarm bells off in his mind as he focused on his Ki sense once more.
Arius paused ready to activate his newly gained Super Saiyan form instantly, but as the second turned into minutes and Darkseid's body slumped to the ground prone without life he snorted unimpressed.
The only remaining things Darkseid could truly use were his generals and army. With the two generals being handled by Superman and the Parademon army deactivating at his death Arius truly didn't know what Darkseid meant by present. The New God was probably just blowing smoke out of his ass wanting to be cryptic and intimidating even in his final moments.
"Typically 'This isn't my final form' or 'I'll be back'. You villains really need better writers." Arius' voice dripped with sarcasm and in disdain he pulled down his loincloth and began urinating on the still warm body of Darkseid after confirming that even the New God's energy signature couldn't be sensed.
As he was desecrating the corpse of the defeated tyrant. Superman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern arrived on scene. Superman bruised, but determined, had overpowered Big Barda and Gilotina, dragging their unconscious forms to the group motioning to Green Lantern.
Diana, the least hesitant of the three, approached cautiously, her eyes shifting from Arius to the corpse of the New God promptly ignoring the vulgar act he was committing, her posture showing a measure of relief. Pausing, she tried to think of a good way to break the ice, but someone beat her to it.
"Ughhh! Gross dude at least put it away when we get here." Green Lantern showed a disgusted look glancing at the World Serpent Arius wielded, his ring glowing as he restrained the captured lieutenants in giant comical chains and a bubble for extra measure.
Arius however ignored him and continued until he truly emptying out all his grievances before turning to Green Lantern and saying, "Alright finished." With a satisfied smile on his face that turned blood thirsty as he gazed at the bodies of Big Barda and Gilotina.
"Darkseid's… down, his forces are retreating. We've won." Superman said cautiously, "Arius… You need to stand down and we'll handle the rest."
"You sure I wouldn't mind taking those two off your hands. I've already killed four of his generals and Darkseid himself. I wouldn't mind finishing two more." The Saiyan proposed while charging up another Ki blast in his hand burning away all the grim that accumulated from the battle and the wielding of his hidden weapon.
"You've gotten your revenge Arius, let us handle the rest." Wonder Woman said, stepping in between the Saiyan and the unconscious bodies of the New Gods ready to deflect any Ki blast that went her way.
Arius truly wanted to kill everything related to the New God, but doubted the heroes would allow him to kill an already defeated enemy. That's not considering that he wanted to migrate to Earth with his best friend 'Shelly' to finally experience modern life again and hopefully take a hot shower with soap. That's not mentioning all the turtle bitches he was going to get for his little buddy, honestly he was the best owner.
"Fine they're both your problem now, but if they seek me out." He left the words unsaid as they had already witnessed him in action and he walked away before flying onto the mountain that he was launched into earlier, taking a seat at the peak and watching the sun as it began to set.
For the first time in years, Arius felt something unfamiliar, a sense of closure and a glimmer of peace. Honestly things were looking up for him. He avenged his dead adopted mother and was hopefully going to be able to eat fast food and drink soda until he was satisfied.
AN: Okay so far whenever Arius lost control it would be like the first phase of a boss his Legendary Super Saiyan power emerged, but he still didn't go Super Saiyan as his hair was still black with only the Green Aura changing the color slightly and now that he fully slipped into the Broly role his hair finally turned yellow and he got a Super Saiyan boost on top of his Legendary Super Saiyan boost.
Also I won't really be doing power level in this story because it would be too much math and way too inconsistent especially when it comes to cosmic beings like the Specter, World Forger, Perpetua & The Batman who Laughs, so I'll be sticking with bs plot. Letting y'all know in advance.
P.S: Considering that Wonder Woman is like the embodiment of female pride when she decides to sleep with someone, does she use her lasso of truth to tie guys up or does she like being tied up?
Speaking of which rather shameless plug, but if you like the story and want to read advance chapter consider joining my patreo n to support me. There's other stories there that I haven't uploaded yet. And with some news of The big P site being wonky at times I also made a subsribestar where the same thing will be posted moreover as a backup.
