Koret left, and he left without hesitation.

But Link Star, with his sharp intuition, noticed that the atmosphere in the kitchen had turned somber, weighed down by the melancholy of a certain young girl.

The vibrant red flowers on either side of her forehead seemed to wilt as Neeko, with her slender fingers, picked at a piece of soft, sweet cheesecake. Yet, she had no appetite to eat it. Instead, a few teardrops rolled down her cheeks, falling onto the creamy surface of the cake.

Seeing Neeko's downcast expression, Link reached out and gently stroked her blue-purple hair.

It was precisely because of her innocence that Neeko was so sensitive to emotions.

Especially since she had absorbed Koret's shurima, she could feel his emotions deeply.

"Will I never see Horned Guy again?" she asked, her voice trembling.

"No, there will always be a chance in the future!" Link reassured her, his hand still resting on her head. "There's no feast in this world that doesn't end, but every life will meet again someday!"

"Mm!" Neeko nodded, her spirits lifting slightly.

"Does that mean Neeko will stay with Link from now on?" she asked, her large eyes filled with hope. She had already sensed Link's emotions. Though she couldn't fully grasp the secrets of his past, having absorbed a part of his shurima, she understood his intentions toward her.

For Neeko, who had nowhere else to go, and who hadn't yet received guidance or visions from her elders, this was a chance to end her aimless wandering.

"That's right. I'll take care of you. You won't have to drift anymore," Link said with a warm smile.

"Can Neeko have another piece of cheesecake then?" she asked, her tail swishing behind her.

"Of course. As much as you want!"

"Yay! Neeko loves cheesecake!"

Her sorrow quickly turned to joy as she raised her arms in excitement. Link couldn't help but chuckle at her childlike enthusiasm.

May this innocence last forever, he thought to himself.

"Word has it that you've taken in a Vastaya girl?"

Those were the first words out of Camille's mouth as she stepped into the room. Link, who had just finished sketching a new blueprint, pushed himself away from the workbench, his chair sliding smoothly across the floor until he was face-to-face with her.

"What about it?" Link asked, tilting his head up to meet her gaze.

Camille rested a hand on the back of his chair, her expression a mix of concern and amusement. "Just a bit worried, that's all."

"Worried?" Link raised an eyebrow.

Camille smirked. "Worried that my dear boy might have a thing for little girls."

Link's face twitched. What kind of nonsense is this?

An eighty-year-old woman like her shouldn't be making jokes like that!

"You're really something," Link muttered, crossing his arms.

Camille chuckled, then pushed the chair—and Link—back toward the workbench. The airship they were on had been specially modified, with one of its cabins converted into a workshop.

"Darling, I know geniuses like you often have their quirks, but you should at least listen to your elders..."

"Ugh—" Link let out a groan. "I don't have time for this right now. The reason I took Neeko in is mostly because of..."

"Her potential," Camille finished for him. Link shot her a look that said, If you already know, why are you bothering me?

"Find yourself a companion," Camille said, her eyes drifting to the blueprints on the table.

There were three designs in total. The first was elegant yet powerful, the second brutal and unrelenting, and the third mysterious and intimidating.

"This is my greatest hope for you," Camille said, picking up the blueprint Link had designed for her. Her gaze lingered on the razor-sharp leg blades. "And the family's expectation as well."

Link scratched the back of his head. He was starting to think Camille hadn't come to Bilgewater for anything else but to nag him about marriage.

"If you're not willing to find someone yourself, I can make some recommendations," Camille offered. "You know the Ferros family's influence extends far beyond Piltover. We have close ties with many powerful families across the world."

"There's a dancer family in Ionia, the Zhàn family. Their youngest daughter just turned eighteen. She's beautiful, graceful, and her dancing is unparalleled."

Link blinked. That's Irelia, isn't it? It has to be Irelia!

"In Demacia, the Buvelle family oversees transportation and commerce. They have an adopted daughter who, despite being mute, is exceptionally talented. Her musical skills are unmatched in the kingdom."

Link's eye twitched. So we're connected to Sona's family too?

"And in Noxus, we have ties with a general whose youngest daughter is the most sought-after socialite in the upper class. Her name is Cassiopeia."

Link's expression turned even more peculiar. Isn't that the snake lady? Wait, does that mean she hasn't transformed yet?

"These families all have strong connections with us," Camille said, tapping the blueprint on the table. "When we return to Piltover, I'll send you their portraits. You can choose one."

"Of course, if you want all three, that's also an option."

Camille ruffled Link's hair before turning to leave. "Now, my dear inventor, enjoy your time."

As she walked out, Link was left sitting in stunned silence.

He knew the Ferros family had a vast network of influence, but he hadn't realized just how deep it went.

Irelia, Sona, Cassiopeia...

Three champions, each from families with close ties to Ferros, and he was supposed to pick one?

"Tsk—" Link clicked his tongue. "Happiness really does come out of nowhere!"

Shaking his head, he slapped his cheeks to clear his mind of distractions.

Right now, his focus needed to be on preparing for the Harrowing.

Everything else could wait until they returned to Piltover and Zaun.

With renewed determination, Link summoned Pride. Today, he would work on crafting the three sets of armor, along with some additional weapons.

Two and a half days later, Link stepped out of his makeshift workshop, squinting as the bright sunlight hit his eyes.

Having spent over two days without sleep, his enhanced body showed no signs of fatigue. The curse of knowledge had pushed his mental and physical limits far beyond those of an ordinary human.

As he stretched, a familiar floral scent reached his nose.

Opening his eyes, he saw Neeko running toward him.

"Neeko wants cheesecake!!"

She charged at him like a raptor, and Link barely had time to brace himself before she leaped into his arms.

"Aren't you tired of eating cheesecake every day?" he asked, amused.

"Neeko never gets tired of cheesecake! Neeko loves cheesecake!"

Like a cat, she climbed up his arm and perched on his shoulder, her tail swishing lazily behind her.

"Link, Neeko wants cheesecake!"

"Alright, alright. Let's get you a big piece."

"Link is the best! Hehehe..."
