Chapter 57: Chapter 43.6: Why? [Short] [D]
((Thank you, but fuck you Lakerus43 ;) . I listened to "The Lamb and the Wolf - Kindred voices" multiple times trying to write this because of you WHILE DRUNK.
I wrote most of this while drinking. I felt it was ironically most appropriate, this self-existential crisis. It was awesome! And depressing...
I'll fix the grammar and structure when I wake but I had to write it and display it. Behold! Raw and drunk writing!))
//Orion's PoV//
"Why can't we kill it?"
"Its time has not yet come."
A tearful, snarling cry rings out from the abyss.
"If it has two faces, can't we enjoy two chases?"
Orion's eyes shoot open, face-to-face with a magnificent black dire wolf wearing a black mask and a humanoid white lamb wearing a similarly colored black one, though it stood farther behind it.
"Why do you resist? This is not your world." The lamb cooed.
Orion breathed heavily, looking around this plane of existence. It shimmered grey and white, like peaceful flames on cold embers.
"It may not be my universe, but I want them to live happily!"
"Why? Your existence is unwelcome," The lamb snuffed, looking into the distance.
The wolf snarls, "This weak will is why you died. Your weakness, this pitiful existence. It taints the chase of a pure soul!"
"Yet you cannot kill me!" Orion shouted, waving his arm furiously. The wolf snarled at his response. "I will fight! I've killed so many... Those who haven't yet experienced loss may never know what it means to take a life! BUT I DO!"
"It grieves," The wolf whimpers, tilting its head.
The lamb hums, "It feels unique, but it is not. It ignores the suffering of many- the cause of many more."
The wolf howls, "But can we not chase it once more? It cries like us!"
"It is fake! It is a lie." The lamb shakes its head. She tilts her bow up, a radiating blue arrow pointing at Orion.
"We should kill it."
"The meat will sour; the taint will ruin its flavor, should we not wait?" the wolf reasons.
The lamb hums, taking its time. Orion glares at the arrow, raging at everything- his sacrifices, his pain- everything. He speaks slowly, "I will survive. Choose your favorite, but I will survive."
With that Orion lunges out, trying to push the bow aside and punch the lamb. She easily dodges, however, allowing his arm to slip past her head.
"You will submit, sooner or later. Your soul is not strong." Orion felt as if he had been violated as her eyes, swirling like galaxies, knowing here and beyond, pierced his soul. He wanted to vomit, but he raged, trying to headbutt her.
"My existence means something!" Orion cries out.
It was then when he woke up, shouting with rage and covered in bandages, that he abruptly sat up.
"Orion?"
