Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy

Chapter 1190: Vale's Hope

Zerel was sure that he had sealed the place, so seeing that someone was able to rip the space and grab their target, stunned all of them… There was no way some ordinary Immortal could do that.

It must be a master of Space and Time itself!

Drazek's eyes widened as he recognized this form of energy…

"No… this isn't just anyone. This is a Void Immortal!"

The residence suddenly shook as the rift expanded, swallowing Lust's body whole…

"You… Who are you?! Ahh… Hahaha! Right?! Fine! Take me!"

Her laughter echoed as she was dragged into the void. She then looked at the three's faces one last time as the rift was closing…

"Did you think you could kill me so easily? I am desire itself… and I have allies beyond your reach!"

Her voice faded as the rift snapped shut, leaving only silence.

To be honest, they were aware that even Lust didn't know that she had an ally who would rescue her… It was obvious from her shocked reaction and how she looked terrified the moment someone grabbed her from the back.

The dragons felt confused, unable to understand why Lust, one of the Seven Sins, was suddenly saved by the Void Immortal.

Ash clenched her fists. "A Void Immortal… here? Why would one of them interfere? Wait… Maybe he's not saving her?"

Zerel groaned as sparks flew from his hair. He really wanted to strike them, but the Void Immortal was too quick… It actually released a suppressive air that stopped them from casting spells for a second.

"They stole our prey. We had her cornered!"

Drazek's expression was grim. "But if that Immortal was here to rescue her… Then, this changes everything. Lust isn't acting alone. She has protection… and not from mortals, not even from ordinary immortals. A Void Immortal means she's tied to something far greater."

Ash's voice was low. "If the Void Immortals are involved, then this corruption isn't just about Harake City. It's part of something bigger."

Zerel slammed his fist against the wall. "Vale must know. If Lust has allies like that, then even we may not be enough."

Drazek nodded slowly. "Agreed. We'll report this to Vale…"

They knew that Vale was also unaware of the Void Immortal's current plans, so they must be ready….

***

When the three dragons returned to Vale, they reported everything that had happened, including their decision that might've made their hunt a lot slower.

Perhaps, if they decided not to care about Karma and didn't take the long route of using a blessed, the Void Immortal may not have the time to rescue Lust.

That feeling of regret of boring down on them.

Of course, Vale didn't blame them… They had done their best, and they didn't know that such a powerful figure was biding his time.

At the very least, Lust had been cornered, forcing the Void Immortal to intervene and pull her into the abyss. That was definitely something he didn't expect either, and even if they failed, they learned a lot about this event.

When the three dragons finished explaining everything, Vale stood and looked toward the horizon.

"What happened to Desmund?" He asked.

"We provided him with some treasures to thank him for his participation and his path of improvement. Our connection to him was done, and he could do whatever he wanted."

That sounds cruel, but he understood where they were coming from. They were Dragons, and training people wasn't their thing.

Vale gently nodded as he returned to the topic…

"A Void Immortal… interfering with us… We have to be a little aggressive about this." Vale muttered.

Just like that, Vale decided to leave the Shadow Domain.

The dragons expected him to march straight to Pallham Empire's western city, but instead, Vale made another decision.

"I guess I'll have to find the Void Immortal first… I must speak with the Imperial Arcane Council."

Vale did not act recklessly.

He decided not to ask Maya about the Void Immortal since he didn't want to put her in a difficult position. She was still a part of the Church of the Lord of the Secrets after all.

Nonetheless, despite being an Immortal, Vale respected the traditions of mortals.

Instead of just arriving at the Imperial Arcane Council, he sent a formal request to meet the Council's leader…

Then, when he finally received a confirmation that he could visit them, he arrived not in a blaze of power but aboard an airship from the Shadow Domain!

The airship descended upon the Imperial Capital with its black sails shimmering with draconic runes.

Of course, his presence here garnered attention…

Citizens whispered in awe, for it was rare to see an Immortal arrive in such a manner.

Vale disembarked calmly as various Automatons, or crews of the airship, assisted him…

Soon, he was escorted by the Imperial Guards to the grand hall of the Imperial Arcane Council.

The Council itself was unlike the Arcane Bureau or the Arcanist Guild.

It was not born from scholars or guildmasters, but from the decree of a past emperor of the Pallham Empire, the strongest human empire on the continent.

Inside the hall, Vale was greeted by the Council's leaders…

There was Seraphis Dorne, the only Half‑Immortal member and also leader of the Council, known for his mastery of Soul Binding.

There was also Grand Arcanist Calvus Ren, a stern man with silver hair who had mastered multiple Elemental Paths.

Grand Arcanist Helena, who was skilled in both Psychic Arts and Mystic Arts.

Grand Arcanist Nataniel, a battle-scarred veteran who had reached the peak of Combat Arts.

Finally, there was Grand Arcanist Natasha, the youngest of the Council… She was an Alchemist, and apparently, she was the main reason why Vale visited this place.

They sat in a semicircle, their gazes fixed on Vale as he entered.

"Immortal Vale," Seraphis Dorne spoke first, his tone respectful yet curious. He was the only Half-Immortal and closes to Vale's power, so he was the only one confident enough to speak with him in such a manner.

"It is rare for one such as you to come here. You should be busy with your Marshall Academy. After all, we have also sent our prodigies to study under you."

Vale gently nodded as he heard about the Imperial Arcane Council's great Dark Arts Practitioners.

"I am grateful for their presence. They have brought honor to the Academy. But today, I am here for a different purpose."

The Council exchanged glances.

Calvus Ren leaned forward. "Then speak. Why would an Immortal come to us?

They were indeed curious about this matter. After all, Vale's written request mentioned that he needed their help. However, they weren't sure what they could do that the Shadow Domain couldn't.

It was baffling them. They have a few guesses, but they weren't really sure about Vale's line of thinking.

Vale smiled as he noticed their confusion.

"Because I seek something only you possess. I need your help to find the Void Immortals."

The chamber fell silent.

Helena frowned. "Find… the Void Immortals? That is impossible. Even Half‑Immortals cannot track them once they hide. They exist beyond the reach of mortals."

Nathaniel scoffed. "Surely you jest. We are Grand Arcanists, not even Immortals. What you ask is beyond us."

However, all this time, Seraphis remained silent… He immediately realized what Vale wanted to happen. But he was confused… 'How did he get this information?' He thought.

Vale then ignored the others' thoughts as he looked at the Half-Immortal.

"I'm sure you can help me if you let me borrow your Arcana."

The Council froze.

The others knew about Seraphis's Arcana… However, it had several usages, and one of them was actually for protecting this empire…

As a matter of fact, this Arcana had protected them several times when the Chaos Immortals attacked their Empire.

However, they weren't sure if it could actually be used to search for a Void Immortal. They knew it was incredibly mysterious, as it was an Item created by the World itself, but it had limitations.

All Arcana in existence were something that this realm had given birth to… They were items that weren't forged but gifted by nature. They were all powerful but they weren't free to use.

"Is this really possible?" Nathaniel muttered.

Nonetheless, as soon as they looked at Seraphis's expression, they realized that it might be possible!

However, Seraphis then turned to Natasha…

"You're the new wielder of that Arcana now… What do you think?" Seraphis asked, and under everyone's shocked gazes, she nodded.

"That Arcana… I think it's possible to use it and search for a Void Immortal. But using it costs the user's soul energy… It's life." Natasha explained.

This was one of the reasons why it was kept secret. It was not an absolute item.

However, Vale knew that she was only starting the negotiation…

Since she didn't immediately reject but explained how difficult it was to use, Vale knew that she just wanted to get something out of this transaction!
