(Arc 2 Complete!) Path of the Last Champion [Sci-Fantasy LitRPG, Party Dynamics, Earned Power]

The Path of the Last Champion continues!

Hi everyone,

How have you all been holding up?

It's been a month of break, and Book 6 is ready to begin... Tomorrow!

Below are just some short summaries for Books 1-5 and what to expect of Book 6:

- What came before (Books 1-4):

Nar was born a sinner, one of countless who were forced to toil in the darkness of the B-Nex in repayment of a sin long ago forgotten.

To change his fate and to one day rescue his dad from the cubeplant, Nar took a hybrid tank/DPS class and underwent the Climb.

He met and grew closer to Kur's party, braved the unknown and darkness of the B-Nex, and eventually reached the surface, having embraced the power of his aura and earning the right to begin his path in earnest as a Champion Aspirant. He also received the promise that he could earn the right to save his dad.

What awaited him outside however, was far more than he could've ever imagined... But also a reality of strong eats the weak. So, he and the party joined Tsurmirel, the 6th ranked delving guild in the Nexus, and boarded The Scimitar, an elite apprentice-ship, in order to gain the strength they need to survive on their own two-feet outside.

In order to be accepted aboard, the party needed to surpass three assessments, the third of which saw them face up against one of the living dead in a corrupted dungeon.

Having survived and earned their place aboard the Scimitar, Nar and the party looked forward to some rest and relaxation in Haven, a de-activated dungeon, only for Nar to discover that he cannot return to save his dad and for his [Presence] to suddenly awaken.

But things are not as they seem, and Tsurmirel seems to know far more about Nar's Champion class than they are letting on. They also seem ready to do anything to change his affinity and keeping make him forget the promise he made with the unknown God... But while she goes along with it for the moment, Tys, an Ascendant from Tsurmirel, might have plans of her own for Nar.

- What came before (Books 5):

Nar woke up after the events in Haven to find that he cannot return for his dad. Not unless he wishes to make an enemy out of the Nexus itself.

He has no idea that his mind has been tampered, and decides to throw everything into growing strong enough to ensure the future of his party. For this he accepts Tys' offer to become her disciple and to one day join the ranks of the Named Few. Her plan is to turn Nar into an unstoppable, invincible, one-man army, but to achieve this, Nar must first overcome the requirements needed to earn the passive skills for self-healing and pain resistance.

Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.

The party then faces its first true delve: the Brightnight, a great jungle domain plunged in perpetual night.

Kur's party teams up with Row's party to tackle the jungle, and joined by two guides, they begin their months long journey through the deadly domain... Only to stumble upon and save Leon's party from frenzied beasts.

Leon, an aethermancer paladin, and his party request the auramancers to assists them in fulfilling the three quests that have led them to Brightnight, promising great rewards and even greater gains if they journey with the aethermancers to three Brightnight regions that were previously not part of their itinerary: the Den, home of fierce beasts, the Dream, where they can get their hands on valuable dream water, and the Canopy of Giants, where they will earn huge gains by fighting giant beasts and by helping fulfill the hardest of the three quests.

As they journey together, Nar takes the chance to improve his swordsmanship under Leon's tutelage, and continues to make strides towards his passive healing and pain resistance skills... But he is also forced to improve his [Aura Blade] skill, and begins to make great [Ego] and [Aura] gains as he approaches an insane, but potentially overpowered solution to his [Aura Blade]'s limitations.

However, just as the party manages to overcome the first leg of the journey, they are attacked and crash into the Hungry Jungle, leading to a desperate run for survival as the red jungle seeks to consume them.

With his sword acting out, and burning his pathways, Nar just about manages to provide the others with the opening they need to escape the Thorn Hydra, the Lord of the Hungry Jungle... But it seems that their crash was not an accident, and that someone within the Brightnight is targeting them.

And as the party recovers by the shores of the Great Lake, threads of fate are weaving... Nar's sword struggles from within his ring. Kur notices, and then forgets, than Rel seems to somehow know of Jul's unknown attribute. And Leon stirs, sensing as Something interferes with Kur's memory.

And that leads us to Book 6:

You cannot chain a Champion.

Nar and the party survived the Hungry Jungle by the skin of their teeth, but they've also realized that what happened to Leon's party was no accident: assassins have infiltrated the Brightnight, and they are after Leon and his people. But that is not going to be enough to stop them from fulfilling the promise to Leon's party, completing their three quests, and reaping immense rewards...

Surviving the Hungry Jungle brings massive rewards with it, including one of the skills that Nar has been chasing... And, his [Aura Blade] moved on its own, proving that there is something to Nar's theory of a "second" Nar. He can't wait to fully grasp his new [Aura Blade], and to get his hands on the gains that Leon and Calli promised.

But the assassins will prove that they are willing to go to any lengths to achieve their mission, and when the Scimitar apprentices are locked in the dungeon, faced with a challenge they weren't ready for, it will be up to Kur to step up to be the kind of leader that Nar believes he can be. Or to let them all be consumed by the dungeon.

And as Nar continues to make gains in [Aura] and [Ego], a silent war begins within him.

For reasons unknown, Tsurmirel placed a block within his mind to make him give up his dad and to change his affinity. But a Champion commands his own fate, and in their interference, Tsurmirel might've provided the fuel for something far beyond their control to be unleashed...

The Brightnight continues! But it's more than just about survival now, as Players begin to make their moves and Nar is caught right in the middle of it all.

Everhart
